Mine went crazy for violinist Paganini, I always played her when I went to shower. Try to put on happy classical music with violins, flutes, they love high pitched complex happy melodies which are similar to happy bird songs 🤭 I am shure your little birdie will burst out in happiness.💕

I received my Canary yesterday and was so worried about the long trip he had to go through, and my cage had not arried before him, so I was so worried I situated him in a safe box made cage and made sure he was safe then I found this vid and played it for him. He was quiet for a while then started singing and mimicking the song. It made me happy to know he was going to make it through this transition. Thank you

My male canary is depressed bc the female canary we've put in the same cage as him doesnt make a good match... whenever i try to lift up his spirits by playing videos like that i understand he's looking for the bird and wants to mate and socialise. I think he's smart enough to understand that what i show him from the phone is fake. He's kinda depressed bc of that but its not like i can get him another female or afford another cage. I dont wanna give up any of the canaries we have but since I'm facing those difficulties i try to engage in singing with them and interacting which have proven quite affective but does not cure feelings of loneliness he has :(

How do u tell the difference between a harz roller canary and a Spanish timbrado canary? I've looked at pics online and seen pics of both types that look like my bird or have similar colouring 😃
Rollers and Timbrado were bred for a particular type of song. Rollers make a deeper rolling sound with beak often closed. Timbrados have very clear, loud strong voices, they open their beaks when singing, they roll, warble, tweet and combine lots of sounds. With these breeds the colors dont matter much and are wide and varied, and body shape doesnt matter much so you see some long skinny birds with fat necks that would not win any shows based on physical type...but they can sing a particular style. Having said all of that, there are many "type" canaries that sing nicely too.
