I didn't know him beforehand but the battle themes for Torghast he wrote do feel very disconnected from the actual location for which they are. They feel like a random battle theme rather than a soundtrack for basically the deepest hell which the place is. It feels like he didn't entirely understand the places and ideas he has written the music for at least judging from the pieces I heared until now.
The common leitmotif in Maldraxxus is giving me vibes of a show on Netflix but I can't put my finger on it. I'm thinking Umbrella Academy, the set of notes that typically plays at the end of an episode as something is going terribly wrong lmao Edit: 16:30 is an example
