Currently going through all TV anime openings, I have to say this is the birth of anime openings as we know it. Everything before, whether good or bad, sounds like "past", this right here sounds "present"
I've always thought it'd be nice to have a mecha made up of Gaigar, the Genesic Gaomachines, the Getter Machines, the bits of Gaiking, and the head of Kotetsushin Jeeg. It's perfect.
Luffy would still be looking for the one piece, he would just have a bigger ship and crew and AN AWESOME ROBOT WITH HIS BROTHER’S SPIRIT RIGHT THERE WITH HIM!!!!!
Interestingly, I was the same way. I got into mech anime at all thanks to TTGL, and a jump to G Gundam and then to Gundam 00 then finally to the first Gundam led me into the Real Robot Genre. My big problem is that so many of the old shows are such a pain to find!

In SRW Alpha 3 the Ide changes it's mind (except in one ending) and becomes more helpful than harmful, resulting in the Ideon saving the galaxy instead of destroying it.

Haven't been into Pokémon for a while, though I have brought strategy guides to see how complicated each generation becomes. Really you can be depressed, but really who did Yoshiyuki Tomino think he was causing other people to become depressed as well, it's a mystery why Sunrise gave the go-ahead to make this anime. I practically see Ideon getting destroyed by every other Japanese robot and rightfully so.

Having seen 2 out of 3 of these animes (GaoGaiGar and Gurren Lagann), I can safely say that any one of these machines could probably tear off the universe's ass and hand it back neatly folded. 1) TTGL can use a drill that SHATTERS galaxies and has a power core that CREATES them. 2) GGG can (as before mentioned) destroy a universe-destroying entity AND can turn any situation into a victory. 3) Haven't watched GK yet, but anything that requires 3 pilots to operate is inherently badass.
If anyone could live up to the surviving legacy of the king of braves as a honorary brave it would be gaiking the great. Daiya fights like he'll to live up to the legacy of the yusha braves
As far as I know,the srie was NEVER comissined for an English release! Iit's on DVD in Japan, import those, but they'll be in Japanese only with no English subtitles!
And of course, the third one. The one that maybe silly at times but when the chips are down, he will make the sacrifice even if it meant that he won't be returning alive. He ended the Dinosaur Empire threat all by himself but alas he lost his life in doing so. I think you know what I'm referring to.
I'll bet Banpresto was responsible for that, as they wanted all the Super Robots to be good guys, it still doesn't change the fact that Tomino originally designed it to be a killer robot. Fortunately the rest of Japan's most famous robots are good guys and can utterly destroy this murdering robot if they had to. That was my point originally.

True, but there was a 10 year court battle in regards to the original Gaiking, of which I do believe Go Nagai won, otherwise he wouldn't have let Toei make this series, nor would he let them produce Getter Robo Go, the Cutie Honey OVA, Cutie Honey Flash etc.
This series definitely needs more love. The only gripe I had with it was the slightly choppy animation for something out of 2005. Other than that, I like it a lot.
Nope. Gundam was broadcasted in 1979, Ideon came a year later in 1980, basically Tomino was pissed that Gundam wasn't as successful during it's first initial run, so he basically made an anime where everyone dies to justify his depression.
No soy tan viejo (para mi desgracia) como para haver visto a los grandes clasicos como gaiking en su gran epoca, junto con kotetsu jeeg, mazinger, grendizer, el getter y compañia.... pero he visto las versiones del nuevo milenio y no todas fueron buenas en comparación al clasico, pero gaiking se lucio xD le hace un grantributo al de antaño esta exelente serie. Asi como esta les recomiendo ampliamente Kotetsushin jeeg, la secuela del de antaño kotetsu jeeg.

When I saw the new gaiking and the song it play, I was so happy to see that the robot anime is at its roots from the old anime so keep going gaiking.
I watched one episode of this show when I was 9 and thought it was the coolest thing in existence.
