Biggest take away was to start with habits that you can do on your worst day :) great interview. I appreciate that you allow the guest to answer without interruption.
I'm not sure why, but that 1% better every day thing made me think about the phrase "Two steps forward, one step back." That's still one step forward. It's not a lot, but it's something to be proud of.

I love the idea of focusing on the process rather than the result. So my goal is to eat healthy but that's pretty nebulous, but I know that if I plan and prep my meals I will eat healthy, so the habit I'm implementing is meal planning and meal prepping on a rolling basis (works out to be every 3 to 4 days). So far so good! I've stayed on plan for like 4 weeks now I think? I'm down a clothing size (don't know the lbs bc it's better if you don't look at the scale), and the best part of all is that I not only feel good with lots of energy, but I also feel good about myself because I'm being the person I envision myself to be - someone who eats healthy! It took a few months to get the habit to stick. I tried different things along the way like doing all my meal prepping for the week on one day, but found that to be too much work, so breaking it up into smaller chunks throughout the week is the way to go for me. I can tell this is a new normal for me and I'm never going back to binge eating garbage on a daily basis, the GI issues and mood issues it causes are not worth it!
Add whole lemon body scrubs especially underarms so you clean toxins put naturally. Also breaks down fats and hypopressive breathing is great core work,
I’ve always struggled with how do I know if I’m getting better every day. But duh, as long as I set up the habits that support my intentional growth and vision that i set up for myself, and follow through with those habits, then I will automatically be on the trajectory.
Lewis I've listened to you for years. In this interview you really expressed your core ethos - to be a platform to allow others to share their wisdom. Thanks for reminding us of your humble journey and for being at service. As James said, before seeking value for something, always offer value to others first. Brilliant episode mate 👏
The seasons❤ Completely resonating with that shift in lifestyle and identity. We go through so many in our lives, and have to keep re-creating ourselves over and over again❤
I like the thought about stages - I found a new practice- new for me and my body - I worked it consistently every day started of slow than longer but every day for a good 3 plus months- then poof one day it just went to the wayside- I still want to get back to it - but lost the trust in myself- so maybe now I can call it - stage 1 and move on to stage 2 - always enjoy a James Clear interview- something to take away every time - thank you
When I was listening to his “3 daily habits” I had an epiphany. All three habits were all about challenging yourself mentally, physically, and emotionally. (Learning, physical activity, and reflecting on what you are doing and why you are doing it) that’s wholistic health!
07:04 I really feel bad for sometimes speeding reading these articles. I had no clue they take such time and effort to produce. I’ll treasure them some more going forward
I love The 1% better everyday, I learned that from James Altucher 😊 thank you for this interview Lewis! I’ve had James Clear’s book for a while but I haven’t read it! I’m starting it today! 🔥
I'm a winter cyclist in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and it's not that winter cycling is fun with the conditions that are not always perfect and at times it is -30 celsius. I got studded tires and have all the clothes to keep warm. I don't always feel like going but I do it just to keep repeating the habit and for accountability. I also now bike in the rain and adopted a DO IT ANYWAYS mindset. I find what works for me is going as soon as daylight hits after breakfast and my coffee. When it comes to biking from April to November...I never have excuses only because I push myself to go even when excuses flood in and I ignore them because the value of me going out for a bike ride is worth more than not doing it.
Thanks, guys. Great interview. James is so realistic and humble I have cognitive dissonance when at the top of his Newsletter he speaks of it in terms of “the best“ and that he says he wants to write “the best book“ on habits which seems unnecessarily and unrealistically competitive and comparing when it is widely known that the same message delivered in a variety of ways speaks to different audiences. It seems oddly out of character for the awesome and smart human being that he obviously is. All the best to both of you, thank you for your service!
I bought James's book a couple years ago but I only started reading it at the end of January. I am blown away by how awesome it is, I'm recommending it to everyone I know! Now I'm gonna go watch your other interview!
I'm inspired that the results exceeded the time spent researching, writing and publishing the book...it is relatable, useful and evergreen information that will enhance many lives. Thanks for sharing!
I just just discovered your channel and I’ve been watching your interviews with Tony Robbins.. I’ve learned a lot. I’ve dreamed of building a school in the province (where I’m from) Philippines.
This is school of greatness. I love you guys, Lewis and James. The conversation was superb and I learned so much from both of you. Here is some of the things that I learned: 1. Create DARES in your business. (Digital, Automatic, Reoccurring, Ever green 🍏, Scalable) 2. What are the works that keep working for me once they are done?
43:40 I love the re-framing James. Looking at it from a project by project basis is healthier. I do that with video games/TV shows/movies. Example: Although for me The Walking Dead is the best TV show I have ever watch, I do not think of other future TV shows not being able to live up to The Walking Dead. Instead I just think that The Walking Dead was one great separate experience I had, and there will be other future shows that I get a different separate great experience. Metal Solid 4 was the best video game I ever played, and I view it as a separate great experience and other future games will have their separate great experience.
I've noticed there is a lot of anxiety and depression in high school and college grads, as their identity as kids and students is over and they feel like they are "floating". Especially those that do not go to college...
Make 3 boxes / piles... 1... essential, do not throw. 2 maybe throw, maybe keep. 3. Throw now... Put as much in box 3 as you can, don't wait, get rid if it while you're in the mood. Put box 1 in a safe place, for now. Repeat the proces until box 2 is almost empty... Then have a good look at box 1 and at how you feel. You'll be amazed at how good it feels. And yes, you will go and buy a few things that ended up in box 3 that belonged to box 1. Well worth it in the long run.
Try Marie Kondo Method or Swedish Death cleaning, donate 2+ items for every one thing you buy, have a “home” to put your belongings, ask yourself if I were moving would I want to take this with me, when was the last time I used it? There are professional organizers you can hire if you are stuck.
I have read Atomic Habits three times and still get new value from it every single time it is discussed, life changing.
What's your biggest takeaway after reading it 3 times?

You cant make habits only by reading book, there should be force behin you which pushes you to adapt a habit...
