Lady and the Tramp is an upcoming American romance film directed by Charlie Bean from a screenplay by Andrew Bujalski and Kari Granlund, and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is a live-action adaptation of Walt Disney’s 1955 animated film of the same name, which was based on the Cosmopolitan magazine story of Happy Dan, The Cynical Dog by Ward Greene. It is set to be released exclusively on November 12, 2019 on Disney+, making it the first remake to not receive a theatrical release, instead debuting on an online streaming platform.
Lady and the Tramp is set to tell the story of "an upper-middle-class American cocker spaniel named Lady (voiced by Tessa Thompson) who meets a streetsmart, downtown stray Schnauzer called the Tramp (voiced by Justin Theroux), and the two embark on many romantic adventures including that iconic spaghetti smooch scene."

I definitely liked this remake better than most others. I do like how they used real dogs for a decent amount of scenes. Of course with CGI to the mouth.

Imagine the training involved for the movie for the dogs
unlike lion king, the dogs are WAY more animated and cartoony in their actions, and they have more human-like expressions, but they still look like real dogs frame for frame.
i feel like this ones gonna keep most of its original charm.

it won't. lady and the tramp was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid and I highly doubt it'll have the same charm.
Voldebutt dog facially are generally more expressive than feline faces.
Disney were going for genuine and natural with the lion king.

These emotions are better than the lion king
Because they are different. Dogs are more expressive with their faces while lions don't.

@@cassiushumqua7301 I never saw it as racist either because Siamese cats originated in China so it would make since that they would have Chinese accents. If they had done a Russian Blue cat it would make since if it's accent was Russian
The scottish terrier with a scottish accent is kept, but the siamese cats are not. Perhaps it's because the cats are villainous? Disney may want to avoid associating an evil character with any recognizable foreign accent.

Didn't Jock care about Lady like a huge plot was them trying to marry her because Tramp got her pregnant to protect her womanhood/ raise the puppies? I also thought he kind of liked her
beautifully animated.. perfect example at how good lion king could have been! the expressions carry much emotion without overdoing it. natural, amazing animation!
Why is lady and the tramp always well written. I mean the first one was good the second was actually decent despite being a direct to dvd and this remake was good

The one animated movie that gets how scotties are in real life, haha. My wife and I loved Jock so much seeing him in this movie as kids we have had scotties in our home exclusively. Fun little dogs:-).
Joke is a girl now and lost its Scottish scent....

I liked the way Lady was more innocent and naive in the original. She's way to sassy and boss girly in this one. Yes nitpicking but it bugs me. I bet they didn't make Tramp fight off those street dogs to save her like he did in the original because of "girl power" and "I don't need a man to save me" or some shit.🙄🙄

Ikr? In the original, Lady was the "good girl", and Tramp was the "bad boy". It was a perfect and charming match. In this remake, Lady (like you said) is like one of those sassy and bossy rich girls, while Tramp completely loses his carefree attitude and charm as a dog-womanzier lol Overall, I prefer the original characters.
I like the Tramp in this movie, but I like the original one better. In this remeke Tramp is more "nice" and almost a coward. Tramp in the original animation is like... REALLY a Tramp, and that's what I liked on him the most.

I like how she's naive yet polite in the original one. That's the whole point of her character, she's a young dog still learning about the world. She easily gets swooned by Tramp who's all bark AND bite.
Lady doesnt know better until she learns the truth about him, and then he has to face the consequences for who he is (always leading girls on and such) and make up for it.

@@str549 it does because it affects the charectors and how the plot goes as Jock was trying to help a pregnant Lady by marrying her, giving her a place to stay, raising her puppies as their father, and keeping her away from Tramp. Who he thought was only taking advantage of a naive (6 month old.) Lady. Tramps a casanova and would of left her for another dog as thats what he does

I think they did that to show "Oh, no! Trusty and Jock aren't gay!" despite Jock's proposal to Lady in the original.
Do not care what people say, this film was a great remake of the animated film that had great chemistry between Tessa Thompson and Justin Theroux ❤.

The new creators would rather ride the coat tales of the original creators' successes. They only throw in "real work" by making it politically correct. There is almost no originality anymore.

The American Cocker Spaniel dog is named Lady. Due to her appearance, she looks like that cute dog that some crazy British actor that was not in the movie.

Me and my girl checked out this movie. It was pretty good Some changes here and there from the original, but nothing that bothers me too much.
And the scene with the rat was done so well and everything after that.
Such a cute rendition. However not completely historically accurate. Lady's owners would not be so socially acceptable and even shunned for being an interracial couple. Not that I have any complaints about that, just stating my criticism of consistency and historical opinion.

I agree, this doesn't work as Lady in the Tramp was based on the upper class white 1909 which this trailer looks like its in the same period showing wagons, victorian era clothing, and old buildings. As well as race mixing in that era was HIGHLY frowned upon and would of had serious consequences.

Darkblooded Absol It’s not Victorian clothing. For some reason everyone calls clothing before 1920 “Victorian.” Vicky was long dead by this point, and their clothing represents turn of the century Edwardian era. Also, they can have their cake and eat it I think. This movie isn’t seeking to be historical. The setting is just a quaint background for the dogs.
They lived in New England and ip North they didn't mind blacks but The Upper class they lived in...might've had a problem.
But the movie takes place in New Orleans

One thing I will say is that Sam Elliot was a great pick for Trusty.
They changed his gender!! I forgot his name, the Scottish terrier, they changed his gender and I LOVE IT I love the gender switch, I just love female Scottish accents to much tbh

I'm glad I never watched the first trailer in this, it shows way too much for my liking. I've just watched the live action last night for the very first time and I absolutely loved it, even if I didn't like some of the changes they made. It was like a warm hug for my heart after what we saw in The Lion King.

Cool I have lady and Tramp stuffed animals from the animated Lady and the Tramp.
Changes. They change wife from white to black and turn Scottish terrier dog and baby from males to female.
Not that there anything wrong with these changes I consider live action remakes to be alternate universe of the original so there will be differences
Plus I think having a mix race couple with biracial baby in Lady and Tramp time frame will be instersting but not sure if they're do anything with that

I haven't even watched it. Probably never will because of the lack of cuteness to the characters and the uncanny Valley. It didn't bother me as much with The Lion King remake. But now I'm starting to understand. The original animated versions are much more appealing. And, instead of a remake, why not a freaking third Lady and the Tramp movie 🙄 😒 😑? I'd watched it, probably would be better than this. I want to see my two favorite cuties again, Scamp and Angel dang it 😇 💖 ❤ 💕 😪.

When you are watching it and think of the woman is hired help, then you see the baby and realise that the woman is the partner or wife. Which I do not think is legal [back then].

Unless you are 70 years old, things changed and kids (and not that kids ie: me) don't like the old cartoon version. The movie is actually true to its original version except the change on the jock into a girl (girl power and stuff) and they all chase the dog pound car at the end. Stop hating, If don't like it, dont watch it, simple !
@@ozmar6418 why not come up with an original movie for today's kids? if anything i think movies like this aren't meant for kids, they're for adults as nostalgia. i'm sort of insulted for kids that they don't get their own classics and have to settle for hand-me-downs. i mean i was a kid for disney's golden age and it was effing awesome because everything was a new release, all original. i wasn't watching what my parents watched.
