Mystery does indeed play a huge role in Carti's career:
1. Before he dropped ST in 2017, he almost made the original tape cover showing comments of people asking him to drop the tape
2. The only reason why Die Lit surprised dropped on the day it did was because the whole entire album was leaking right before so it essentially was a force drop. If the mass leaks didn't happen Carti would've likely delayed Die Lit even further, and people were begging for that album to drop as well.
3. Carti waited 2 years and 7 months after Die Lit dropped before he dropped WLR, and during that time period we had the classic WLR v1 leaks era along with the fetus voice he was experimenting with for WLR v2 (never dropped either).
4. It has now currently been 3 years and 7 since WLR dropped, and we still haven't gotten a new album from Carti yet. No IAMMUSIC yet, or any new tape from Carti since 2020. Narcissist is scrapped, IAMMUSIC v1 is scrapped, and who knows when he will drop IAMMUSIC v2 (if ever lol).
