- Clean design doesn't have to be simple. Using messy techniques with lots of white space is my favourite because it's the best of both worlds. Today I'm teaming up with Therese (Lost in Paper) to share lots of ways to elevate your Clean and Simple cards!

Really good idea about the embossing folder and running it back through your machine to make the pattern less bold. Thank you. Lovely cards as always. X

Great cards today Adryth! I love the great ideas you gave especially the one where you run the card through the machine again to flatten the embossing on top! Your cards are always beautiful and inspiring!! ❤️
Thanks so much for watching!
Beautiful cards once again!! Cannot wait to try these techniques out.
Thanks so much, Ginger!
Glad to see I'm not alone using stick it sheets everything i do always rips
LOL! You're not alone! Thanks for watching!
I love all your tips…especially gluing intricate words. I spend sooo much time on that process trying to get every space. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much for watching!
Again, as usual, an amazing video with fab techniques and gorgious cards, AND, i thought those dots were a bit to much too, but i would have never come up with your solution, absolutely amázing, yet so simple, and the result was lovely! Thx so much 4 this and all your other superb videos, they always really brighten my day👍😘.
Thank you so much!

Thanks so much for watching!
LOVE THE GINA K CIRCLE DIE YOU USED
Ooh, me too! Such a versatile set! Thanks so much for watching!
Only Ardyth could make me watch festive card making in July! Lovely clean ideas. Thanks.
Haha! You can use these ideas for non-holiday cards. Thanks so much for watching!
Really lovely cards! I love that you only used red and white!
Thanks so much!
Love your cards Ardyth! I think the ink swiping with the gold splatters is a simple technique and looks amazing with that chunky die cut. Waving at you from Alberta but you probably can’t see it for all the wildfire smoke! 😬🔥
Oh gosh. The wildfires this year! I hope you're safe! Thanks so much for watching!
I just love, love the white on white snowflakes..so elegant. Aldo appreciate help stacking die cut sentiments..mine always come out wonky. ❤
Haha! Start with the easier ones and practice - you'll get the hang of it really quickly! Thanks for watching!
I just love your videos and your honesty. I also love your stamping platform is stained with ink like you actually use it. Your cards are just beautiful
LOL! I definitely use it.... and I do clean it, but not often! Thanks so much for watching!
Guess what I ordered today! The super sticky mat. The difference is it holds heavier cardstock better. I use neenahs 110# for most all of my things except gel press. I use index on that and I think you do too. I can’t wait. They had free shipping on $29 and a crappy sentiment sale. The one I bought I had wanted wasn’t even on sale. But I used up my gift card from returning the brushes I didn’t need. So I’ll get to try out that mat!
♥
Thanks so much for watching!
Two of my absolute faves together, I love it! Thanks for the shout out. I actually first saw that technique done by Therese and my mind was blown!! I have been obsessed ever since. Thanks for sharing your talent with us!
Thanks so much for watching, my friend. Obviously, the 3 of us need to get together!
What awesome ideas!! I always love clean and simple ideas!! Thanks so much for sharing!! Hope you have an amazing weekend!!
Thanks so much! 😊
9:02 😢 oh, Ardyth! I hope you find this out so you can tell ME!?! I have ruined quit a few things trying to use this to make diy stickers, so to speak, and mine come out just like you showed! 😖 I thought it was only me!! Thank you darlin! I feel better somehow! ❤ Lovely cards, you ALWAYS show me something I i wanna try! 👍🏻🤗
Oh, things go wrong for me all the time! lol! Thanks so much for watching!
Hi!!
I wish I could pick your brain in real time!!! I sit down to create and it seems I forget all that you taught us!!!! Hahahah! Also, thanks for sharing your thought processes when something doesn’t go perfectly!! Now THAT I can relate to!! You’re the best! Thanks for the notes at the bottom….it helps for us to at least write your ideas down for later memory-jogs until your book comes out! :)
LOL! Message me - I'm almost always near my desk! Thanks for dropping by!
Great ideas, love CAS but can;t always seem to pull it off.... now i have some fun ideas for this years cards. thanks
Thanks so much for watching!
Thanks for the flattening 3d folder tip. Layering on top of 3d can be difficult. Less sticky sheets (I use Sizzix) will work on the snowflakes.
Thanks! I'll try that!
Very creative for CAS cards! I liked all the designs but the "JOY" cards were my favorite. Those really stood out to me!!! I appreciate the partial stencil technique. Having it run across the entire card looked so nice. I agree it was too close to the sentiment but other than that, it was a very sharp look. What a way to save the card with that darn black ink spot! I swear, when you show these tricks they seem so obvious (after the fact of course) but they're something I would never think of!!! Chalk up ANOTHER "Duh" moment for me (lmao)!!!
LOL! Desperation is the mother of invention? Is that what they say? Thanks for watching!
I have a stack of backgrounds, painty papers etc. I need a stack of birthday cards. I will be using some of these techniques soon.
I have a stack like that too - I should do something with it! Thanks so much for watching!
Fun techniques & I enjoyed Therese video as well. I’ve had similar problems die cutting "stickers". At times rotating the dies/paper to get a deeper cut works. If all else fails, use a thinner ds such as Ken Oliver's Stick It.
Thanks for that tip! Thanks so much for watching!
Love all of these cards, although I'm definitely not a card maker who normally makes cards with a lot of white space.
Thanks so much for watching!
Wonderful collection of cards! Loved how you used the snowflake diecuts to create a background
That is such a great way to create a different look with die cuts! Thanks so much for watching!
I have this thing with circles, and I just loved that dot wreath die! Another favorite! I also never thought about masking off the border for a stencil. Actually, I haven’t thought much about my stencils at all and that has to change! Now! I have 4 more birthday cards to make, so maybe I can use them for those. I love my altenew embossing folders. They’re my favorite! And I do a lot of die cutting. Still need to use the pastes again and foil! I have enough supplies just need time. Which I’ve had since I haven’t been well. Back to mowing if I’m able, tomorrow. Cards on hold.
Try shimming your snowflakes and run them back and forth through the die cut machine. I use a Platinum. I find that works for me.
I tried that. Now I'm wondering if I should have removed the sticky sheet backing and tried to pop them out from the back. I'll have to keep working at it! lol! Also, I don't have a Platinum, but I do wonder about that, I hear such good things.... Thanks so much for watching!
I appreciate that you were inclined to change the embossing folder results. It was good to see what you did to flatten the circles just enough to bring the color design back into focus.
I think that could be an interesting technique, actually. I'll have to explore further.... Thanks so much for watching!
OMG Miss Ardyth. GORGEOUS and STUNNING!!! Gosh definitely Brilliant and Ingenious CRAFTABULOUS ideas and WOW love how they all turned out……you never cease to amaze…..that was weird about that adhesive fixing such a difficult removal gosh had to be 1 sheet that had something g wrong with is…go figure…cause like you use these sheets ALL the time….but no worries about the camera getting shy and not capturing it!, Thanks for your Outstanding Tutorial and Sharing your Tremendously Terrific Tips, Tricks & Techniques!! YOU SO ROCK.
Joan Smith
Thanks so much for watching, Joan! You always put a big smile on my face with your kind comments!
@@ardyth 💕😁🥰💕
That backing paper on the score tape you used to make the sticker snowflakes is tough stuff. I always run mine through 2-3 times or move the dies to one side as the center of a roller doesn't always seem to make tight contact. Try also to put a sheet of copy paper or thin foam packing sheet behind it too. The extra softness should help the dies cut through.
Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a try! Thanks so much for watching!
Maybe running the “stickers” through the die cut machine twice or adding a shim would have helped release the snow ❄️ flakes.
Thanks for the tip. I did try running them through lots (and LOTS) of times! lol! But maybe a shim would have helped. Thanks so much for watching!
Love your fun ideas for bringing CAS to Christmas, Ardyth! Well done! =]
Thanks so much, Michele!
I think the snowflakes needed more pressure when they were cut. I've had that issue before. I gravitate toward snowflakes. Also, sometimes, and counterintuitively, a heavier cardstock works better. BUT there are a couple of glitter papers that I can never get to cut properly with somewhat intricate dies no matter what I do. I always love your cards. They're always so bright and cheerful.
Thanks for the tips! And thanks so much for watching!
I’m not sure what went wrong with the snowflakes, maybe a different paper or adding a shim might’ve helped, but I would’ve done the same as you - gotten frustrated very quickly, thrown those away, and switched to using glue with the next batch. I appreciate that you leave in some of the things that don’t work so well, and how you fixed them.
Haha! I wish I had tried peeling them apart before I had cut so many, and realized that it wasn't working for me, but live and learn! Thanks so much for watching!
I love all the cool folds, but have too many other techniques to master first-or at least try. Like my drawer full of pastes and tonic had a great sale. I got 9 items, all Nuovo micas and paste and drops with shipping charges for $33 USD!
Sounds like a great deal!
Ha! I did ink to paper first time for a border….. in black! It showed through 110# Neenah! So it was on the base so I didn’t have to mat it and I had to ingeniously, or not, cover the whole inside of that base! On the get well card! It worked great, but how do you not get bleed through? That solar white 110# is thick! It still showed a bad shadow and bled through the fold.
Interesting. I'm surprised. Maybe instead of Direct to Paper, use a blending brush. It may be that there was too much ink? Thanks for watching, Denise!
@@ardyth thanks for the tip. It was so fast I loved it!
I just finished 31 Christmas cards yesterday! You’ll be getting one so I can’t post them on IG until after they go out. I got one out of 5 birthday cards done and today did an awesome get well card for my son when he has sinus surgery. He just bought a motorcycle , new one, so I did that and used gauze! Lol! I can’t post that either since he’s on IG. If you want to see it send me your email if not, eventually I’ll post it. I have to make the inside sentiment on the computer yet and fussy cut out the motorcycle I colored to match his bike and added diamond glaze for a 3D effect and shine. Not the typical get well card, but that’s my thing. I personalize most every card.
Wow! That's a great accomplishment!
@@ardyth you are too kind. Thank you for being such a joy in my life!
Was wondering if your friends (who would probably receive your cards) watch your channel and get a sneak peek? Or do you do those off camera perhaps?
Most of the people I send to do not watch my channel, and those that do may remember seeing their card in a video. That's ok with me! lol! Thanks so much for watching!
What great ideas for clean cards. Love the circle dot card particularly. Putting the embossed card back through the machine to flatten the embossing a little was very clever. Thank you for all the tips.
