- Hello Everybody,
This month, many of my previous video fans have requested that I showcase the skills of the great master artisans. These artisans, although few in number and older, continue to strive daily to pass on traditional values to the next generations. They embody the essence of traditional Japanese woodworking, Japanese woodworking temple craftsmanship, and the creation of traditional and sacred products using the highest smart-level techniques. Their smart woodworking techniques and traditional woodworking skills are truly remarkable.
To thank and honor these artisans, we have decided to create a series of video shows about them and their work, using footage from my friends and myself. These videos will highlight their amazing woodworking skills, Japanese building techniques, and the beauty of traditional craftsmanship.
Everything has been revamped. I have edited the script, rewritten the content, added new effects, new music, and new footage, resulting in a creation titled "Incredibly Sacred Traditional Product with Highest Smart Level Techniques Required (Original Sound)".
Today’s video is likely to be even more appealing due to the appearances of:
• Master Wood Craftsman: Taneya Kichiji (種谷吉次)
• Master Craftsman: Izumi Mahiro (和泉眞弘)
• Lacquer Artist: Takayama Mitsuo (高山光男)
• Sculptor: Yokotani Mitsuaki (横谷光明)
• Master Craftsman: Shimada Yoshini (島田吉ニ)
• Painter: Nakahara Ken (中原健)
This series aims to provide an insightful look into Japanese woodworking hand tools, woodworking documentaries, and the extraordinary skills of Japanese carpenters and craftsmen. Enjoy watching and appreciating the incredible dedication and artistry of these masters.

You can only admire and watch such skill, To be a apprentice to such masters would certainly be a honour.
i'm glad you enjoyed it
This gentleman should be teaching! So as not to lose this amazing beautiful art!
Wow, thank you!
Until the previous life, Japanese craftsmen had a master-apprentice system, and it was an implicit rule to steal skills from masters and learn.
While I would love English subtitles, art, beauty, and mastery have their own language and it all was so beautifully translated in itself.
This was compelling and breathtaking to watch from beginning to end. The lifelong artisans of East Asia are truly mesmerizing masters of their art.
its a shame that English translation for manga, doujinsho, etc are readily available but there isn't English sub for this masterpiece
@@lordjaashin There is now.
The true craftsmen of this world are few and far between but the eastern craftsmen and women seem to have a devotion to as close to perfection as human hands are capable of. These pieces are put together so precisely they almost seem to snap into place. That level of artistry comes from a lifetime of dedication to they're craft and it shows in everything they make!! BRAVO!! Much respect and admiration!!
I can honestly say I can watch a master-craftsman ply his/her art all day.
Craftsmanship that takes a lifetime to master. The sad part is these national treasures are getting up in age and once they are gone l hope there will be another generation to carry on their skills.
National Treasures, who created such art, that is beyond price. It's too incredible to contemplate the training, the number of hours, the dedication.....Thank you for posting this, something I have never in my life seen before, the apex of accomplishment.
Phenomenal skills! They show us the level of respect for the artist's skills!
It's truly a masterpiece .... Tons of patience and craftsmanship... Indeed respectable
Absolutely stunning craftsmanship...certainly something to be very proud off.
Thank you for not adding music and not playing in double speed. It is a pleasure to watch.

Fantastic wood joints fits perfectly and interlocking techniques really only master craftsman can do it with the sharpest cutting tools. Hats off with greatest respects.
Thank you very much!
Amazing. FYI, lacquering the mikoshi took 5 months, according to what they said. Previously, they put 5 layers in total of the different lacquer before they made it black. Beauty!
Merci pour ces superbes images. Je suis en admiration devant les gestes, le soin, la polyvalence des ces artistes.
Techniques developed over generations, passed down, built upon and perfected over time. It’s beautiful!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Incredible skill levels.
Dedication to the achievement of perfection . Phenomenal results from all concerned. Enjoyed this video immensely.
I literally laughed when I saw the mirror-finish on that lacquer job. Every step, I hated seeing such amazing craftsmanship getting covered by another layer but the finished product is a gem! Even the frame was gorgeous!
I can't believe I watched every second of this. That may be one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen and it was a privilege to see so many great masters showing their crafts.
MIKOSHI is a version of a Japanese Temples & Shrines .
You can only see them when there’s a festival or MATSURI in Japan.
They believe that MIKOSHI IS A GOD Carriage when He is going somewhere.
Maybe that’s the reason why they need to put inside the cabinet.
Me too
I can only dream of my black car having half the gloss even after clay barring and waxing. Im so jealous of the carvers chisel set lol. One can only dream.🥰
I was thinking the same thing (that Takashi went and messed everything up) but yes, that piano-black, stunning finish.
Japanese tradesmen don't skip steps ,there skills are second to none magnificent workmanship
They don't skip steps, they master each other
So this is how mikoshi shrines are made.. Awesome
wow, i am in aww and amazement. the would of design and artistry need to take a leaf out of this book. no modern world in the west can comprehend this kind of mastery, they are to concerned with making money and fast. Yet this is worth more than any amount of money in my eyes. I just hope that it doesn't become a lost art.
Stunning

These craftsmen will pass on knowing that a thousand years from now their incredible work will still be revered.
You should see the show on Netflix about an artist called Stanislav Skulaski. The documentary is by Leonardo DiCaprio
The guy making the rope looks like Asian bubbles from trailer park boys. That temple is simply beautiful. All the craftsmen involved is amazing. All masters of their craft. I’m still in awe I got to see that made by hand amazing quality.
The Japanese really take joinery to a whole other level. I just cannot understand the whole working while sitting on the floor barefoot thing.
