- Spoilers for both shows. Insert clever "double helix" joke here. Another song that I fell in love with the moment I heard it, and I suppose I'm not alone because I've seen a LOT of videos with this song, so I hope mine stands out at least a little. There have been surprisingly few crossover AMVs for these two shows, and even fewer good ones, so I thought I'd try and change that.

I just realized the only way KLK could have been any better is if Ryuko said "Just who the hell do you think I am?" at any dramatic point.

we just need ONE crossover of TTGL in any trigger anime
@@Jpx0999 Not sure if that can happen. TTGL is owned by Gainax, Trigger is a group of people that broke off Gainax. So while they did work on it they don't own it, so it would be tricky to do a crossover.

I really do appreciate when people make AMVs to the beat of the music as you did, it really makes you feel the music, and makes it tons more amazing and good to watch and listen too.
Thanks for the comment! I see a lot of AMVs that are essentially just clips of the show with a song in the background, without any sort of syncing or emphasis on the music at all. It's one of the biggest problems among newbie video creators, I think.

You should watch One Punch Man if you haven't yet. It just finished airing. It's not really the same as TTGL, but "over the top and awesome" definitely describe it.

@@orpheusamv4578 But like really, there are other AMV's of this song that have millions of views only bcuz of the anime, some cringe anime like naruto or mha, they just grab the music, slap some anime clips, and that is it, millions of views, but you at least did a fantastic job with the editing, adding clips that have something to do with the lyrics and also those parts where the characters seems to be singing.

I watched these 2 back to back and loved them both. A lot of people seem to dislike both of them for some reason, but to me they were master pieces.
+Voodikod I don't hear much dislike for TTGL, but a lot of people seem to hate on Kill la Kill for some reason. I don't really know. They're both really good, I like TTGL a little better, but I think it's unfair to say Kill la Kill is bad just because it's different. Idk.
+OrpheusAMV If tumblr were as big as it was in 2008 when TTGL was airing there would be as big a backlash for it as Kill la Kill received. Regardless of political shit, just compare S1 of TTGL to KLK's whole run, those story arcs focused on taking back planet Earth. The second season of TTGL expanded to taking back THE UNIVERSE while KLK ended with a foreboding warning that the Life Fibers are still out there and will return.
Studio Trigger has moved on to finishing Little Witch Academia 2 since then.
A season 2 of KLK would be on the insano scale of TTGL season 2 but we'll never get it D:

Just finished Kill la Kill and they both are awesome in their own way. Kill la kill had me interested after the first episode with how over the top it was. Then when the "clothing" story was established that the Japanese can indeed make an anime about ANYTHING. But I've come to expect that. I thought it was okay. The action was great and it made me laugh out of nowhere a lot. Which always scores points. Lol
And Gurren Lagann is just the best anime ever. That's all I have to say about that.

I agree with some of your thoughts on Kill la Kill. It's definitely noteworthy for how completely out there its plot is, and it's definitely one of the funniest shows I've seen. But the main reason I like it is because deep underneath all the fanservice and cracked-out insanity there's actually a lot of symbolism and theme. It sort of reminds me of FLCL in that regard. While I didn't like Kill la Kill anywhere near as much as Gurren Lagann at first, after I finished Kill la Kill and rewatched it I started to see it in a new light. They're both pretty clever shows, they just do things in somewhat different ways.
Or maybe it's just late and I'm rambling, but those are my thoughts.

I REALLY don't understand why the main themes haven't been remixed together. I've been waiting for Libera My Body From Hell (Don't Lose Your Way; Tengen Toppa Remix) since KLK finished, and I haven't found it yet

I WANT MORE OF BOTH SHOWS.
And suddenly I realize that the reason why I like Gurren Lagann better than Kill la Kill is because the stakes are higher. The losses are real, the heartbreak as well, whereas Kill la Kill is... kind of gentle with its viewers. But why?
I also noticed this. Although let it be known that although I LOVE both shows Gurren Lagann had a larger impact on me

Yeah it's the same for me :)
I kind of agree for different reasons. Kill la Kill was too focused on being outlandish. Aside from Satsuki and Senketsu the characters kinda bored me. In comparison, the character development in Gurren Lagann kept me invested long past the robot fights. So the stakes were higher, but more because I cared for the characters and wanted to see them win.
On the other hand, Kill la Kill did have a lot of moments, especially in the latter half, to keep me invested, and the story showed, if nothing else, that ANYTHING can be made into a great story with enough effort.

cornemuz Because Kill la Kill wasn't the same kind of story at least not thematically. In Lagann the story was about overcoming your foes. That's even the ending and why you get such a bittersweet moment with the Wedding (they still win, but the win becomes a bit of cold comfort), but Kill La Kill was all about over coming yourself from the beginning and all of Ryūko's toughest fights are because she can't let herself be or overcome a part of herself. Its only when she accepts herself does she become really strong, develop friendships, and finally over come her foes and her past.

Ironically, I'm currently watching both animes.
Zach Avent they did, he was in a history book as seen in Yoko's classroom. And Im fairly certain the survivors of the Galaxy Gurren's crew were there to serve as witness to what Simon had done. Its just that little kid he talked to in the prologue didn't know who he was.
Zach Avent well his appearance changed alot. And he did seemingly go into hiding.
+Zach Avent besides, Simon probably wouldn't have liked that ( despite being Supreme Commander ), he probably would have told everyone to stop calling him a God, because even Yoko says he's not God. He just unleashes " Unbelievable power right at the last moment " every time

Tenge toppa gurren lagann y kill la kill gueron creados por hiroyuki imaishi,pero en estudios diferentes (ttgl en gainax y klk en studio trigger) pero ambos son series geniales y ambas son las mejores obras de imaishi ttgl es la numero 1 y klk la numero 2 (almenos estas son las ue he visto completas ya que vi panty y stoking pero no completa igual lo que vi no supera a las anteriores series que son CASI unas obras maestras)

I feel like Gurren Lagann is a mix of Attack on Titan (humanity suppressed by giant creatures, lots of deaths) and Kill LA Kill (general wackyness and the Art style is similar). It's funny because both of those anime's came after TTGL.
