Charles allen jr I 100% agree with you. And I'm only 15 and I grew up on all the Rankin bass christmas movies too! To tell you the truth I have grown up to be an old fashioned kid! I probably know more about the 80's then most people who were teens in the 80's haha! 😂
I agree 100% too because, this particular film is not as poplar now as it was back then and the interesting thing too is that I find it interesting that how most of the famous people back then had voice characters like ones in Rankin and Bass Productions during the Christmas Holidays like, Dick Shawn, Mickey Rooney, Shirley Booth, George S Irving, Keenan Wyn, Fred Astaire, and many others I have not heard of.
The Rankin/Bass Christmas movies were a staple for the holidays. Christmas wouldn't be the same without them, all starting with Rudolph and Frosty. As a kid, we couldn't wait until they came on, and we all gathered in the living room to watch
This is my FAVOURITE Christmas special of all time!! I'm 22 years old and proud of it, baby!! Also, did I mention to you I'm listening to this in June?
I remember when I was in 4th grade, we didn't have the dvd of the movie our school usually watches at christmas time which was the polar express, so our teacher whips out his favorite christmas movie which is The Year Without A Santa Claus. I grew up with this movie and I thought everyone knew about it. So you know I was the only one bopping to this song and looked around and saw all the other kids were creeped out by the stop motion lol. Still had to bopp to the Meiser Brothers songs though.
@skaterchikxoxo You dont have to get your comment "liked" to be cool. but i love this movie, and it does bring me back lots of memories. im downloading right now :)
I agree - this is the BEST Christmas video ever made. I love it more than Rudolph and Frosty and all the others. They should play THIS ONE every year! It has the best music and the characters are hysterically funny. :) (Like the Heat and Snow Miser!)
I spent my first Christmas without my family this past year and I thought about this song and cried. We always watch these every year. I also thought about baby New Year.
EVERY song in this special is absolutely fantastic
Very True.
I grew up watching all the Rankin/Bass Christmas cartoons as a child. To me, "The Year Without a Santa Claus" is the most underrated of the group.

@movielover /hater The other Rankin/Bass Christmas Cartoons that were underrated were "Jack Frost" and "Nestor the Long Eared Christmas Donkey"
My all time favorite Christmas movie. And I preach it to everyone.

@@spirit-wolf-entertainment8938 Also they had: Andy Griffith (Frosty's Winter Wonderland) Jimmy Durante (Frosty the Snowman) also to name a few

they never make cartoons like this anymore.....best ever
She just sounds like the perfect Mrs. Claus. You can picture what she would look like with that voice, even before seeing her.
"And the children they cried, they thought Santa had died"
In 2014, it actually happened.:(
R.I.P Mickey Rooney & the entire cast of the special.
Keshia Anders Your comment is the only reason I found out he died. ☹️
Shirley Booth died in 1992. Dick Shawn died in 1987, and George S Irving died in 2015.
Keshia Anders Actually Bradley Bolke who played Jangle Bells (Now passed away early 2019) and the Police Officer is still alive.
Eddie Miller George s Irving died right after Christmas 2016
The real Santa Claus is immortal, he always comes.
So great to hear Shirley Booth in such great voice! What a wonderful star.
A year without this special would surely be the worst we've ever had ;')

Yo Deadass I'm the same way. 20 years old and will always rock w the classics man.
Imagine how much kids would freak out if you sang this to them without context.
"You mean...if something happens...HE WON'T COME?!"
This special defined my childhood Christmas
Shamelessly listening to this in August. I have no regrets.
This special is one of my favorites, the music is one of the best Christmas soundtracks!
Rip Mickey Rooney... and half/most of these legends... I'm crying rn... MERRY early Christmas...
The first Rankin/Bass Christmas special I ever saw and what a fantastic one to start.

I'm sure they won't miss meeeeeee
Oh, how wrong he was. :)
I started watching the year without a Santa clause since the age of 7
Shirley Booth had the most beautiful singing voice. She was the SWEETEST housekeeper EVER in the show Hazel. She worked for the Baxter 👪 as the Maid.
me too. This whole movie makes me cry
LOVE THIS MOVIE!
0:00 Me telling my grandchildren about 2020
0:00 Everyone telling their children and grandchildren about 2020.
BEST MOVIE EVER
An awesome sequel to "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" with Mickey Rooney voice as Santa. 🎅🏻
Am I the only one listening to Christmas music the summer of 2020
Shirley was grandest Mrs. Claus!
Great !
This song makes me cry.
How come the live-action version didn't have covers of ALL songs and just the Miser Brothers one?
I love this song
Thanks for uploading
R.I.P.
SHIRLEY BOOTH

this year Santa is taking a self isolation day.
The best part is Mickey's very old sounding "I'm sure they won't miss meeee!"

Sang this at lunch in 3rd grade when I finished everyone at my table clapped for 2 mins
Same for me too!
WHAT IF THE MISER BROS. INSPIRED SUPER MARIO? THIS CAME OUT IN 1974, AFTER ALL...
The lady singing is e lady that played Hazel boy she had a sweet singing voice.
my grandpa is like heat miser
Snow
💜💜💜
By the way: It's clever how Dick Shawn's billing is against a patch of snow and George S. Irving's is in front of the sun.
00:38 best part of the song
Dude works one day a year and calls out 😂😂😂
Sang in 3rd grade lunch everyone at my table clapped for 2 minutes
