That little hut, must have felt like The Hilton, after the journey that you two had to get there. Chapeau to you both. Another great video. Take care both. A 💙
@@joshandsarahride 😂 I have had a couple of bikes for sale, but don't think we've spoken. Trek Fuel ex 8 and specialized Fuse comp 29. I buy too many bikes tbh 😂😂 My "moody James Bond Pic!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂💙
There was smoke coming from your socks, that was amazing. Have to admire your determination and stamina pushing on in such harsh weather conditions uphill on a, well, basically a goat path almost. It must have been quite different huddling in for the night with so many in such a small cabin
@@joshandsarahride do you mean ride out from your door, or are you also thinking of the Scottish ones? I'm out on my bike atm but will reply after I get back.
@@tonypaddler not just from there door but more remote locations. First trip of the year to Scotland next month. Have wanted to explore Arran for a long time!
Epic type 2 fun. I was thinking as you approached the bothy in that foul weather, that you would be the only ones there! Ha! All good anyway and you met some really fun people. Thanks for sharing
Ha, in that weather it hadn't even crossed our mind there would be people. Midweek, still in winter, no holidays etc. But glad we stumbled across them cos we've kept in touch 😊
Yes... watched the previous video and thought 'what if there's folk there and it's totally full'!!?? Guess that's all part of the fun not knowing, but smart move taking a tent just in case. Perhaps the army guys you mentioned would have done a 'Captain Oates' to save you having to really rough it? Lol
I'll be honest, when we saw people in at first our hearts sank but I was actually very nice meeting them all. Warmed up the room a lot too. The squadies seemed very comfortable on their raised platform though 😅
Ha, I would say we never go out with the intention of making things hard. The story often just seems to unfold that way 😅 wowza, 4 hours seems fast! In fairness, it was 15 miles to Keswick for us so that added a lil on too 😅
So glad you got to have an authentic experience of Bothy culture. A wee note on pronunciation. I’ve noticed a lot of English people pronounce the ‘oth’ in bothy with a very hard sound on the ‘th’. Try saying it like you would in the word ‘moth’.
I have ridden down that part of the Burrowdale Bash on my gravel bike loaded. It’s definitely mountain bike territory 😂 I’m surprised you don’t have panniers & ditch the backpacks
Gotta go back and do it with a MTB. Those descents 👌 I keep all camera gear in mine and haven't found a better way to carry on heavier trails without risk of damage. I've also ridden with a backpack a lot so I forget it's there. Do you carry camera gear cycling?
As a long time biker, especially off road, the weather dictates my route and then the bike. Always another day/weekend to do a route. And just how much kit do you carry for a two day / one night ride? Too much. Rationalise it, it’ll make the ride more enjoyable. Enjoyed the vid, big effort.
Yes the weather is a big dictator in the outdoors. Because we camp, cook and film in winter we do have quite a bit of gear. I (sarah) also feel the cold 🥶 so am thankful for that extra layer when the night draws in but in the summer our packs are a little lighter. Glad you liked the video 🙂
Definitely one of those trips we won't forget 😅 we'll be exploring more of the UK bothies so keep your eyes peeled for those videos to come!
Y’all are such beasts!!! So impressed! Love it!
Proper troopers keeping going, fabulous looking trip!
Awesome how I loved this video your amazing both of you, loved the fact that you embraced the company of other users of the bothy too.
Ahh, that's an element we really love. An excited surprise!
A great video - admire how you two “tough it out” - scared for you at times!
Just found you guys and I’m really enjoying your videos! Your Bothy videos are hard core endurance efforts!
Haha, thanks! This one was definitely a bit of type 2 fun 😅
That’s in my opinion the best time to visit a bothy, thanks for sharing!
Definitely best to find a collection of weary souls 😅
Absolutely awesome guys. Proper Adventure 👌
Thanks bud, definitely one to remember!
She's rough country around the mine , good thing you made her safe n sound ☝️☝️, I imagine the weather is always a factor up there .
We were definitely glad to find the hut!!
That weather enables you to have painless tooth extraction, so face numbing! ❤ XXX
😅 will make sure I remember this next time I need a wisdom tooth out

Ahh, yeh, makes me shiver just thinking about it! It actually wasn't too bad when we changed out of wet stuff. 7 sweaty bodies to heat the room up 😅
Thanks for your adventures. 😊
Our pleasure!
I'm enjoying watching your awesome videos , hope to see more videos😀
Above and beyond guys massive well done that looked Brutal 👍🏻👍🏻🚴🚴
Haha, was character building that's for sure!
Another great video, thanks very much for that 👍

hi you certainly seem to like epics & making things difficult for yourselves!, the Borrowdale Bash is a 4hr loop from Keswick on the appropriate bike.
