He reminds me of Gerrard, the way he tackles lunging in, and the way he carries the ball, even before receiving the ball he knows exactly what he wants to do, brilliant passer and finisher, very matured game in him, looks abundence in confidence, sometimes a bit selfish in front of goal when could've played a team mate but wouldn't blame him if hes that confident, one of the most complete midfielder since Gerrard I've seen

He is a really good player at his age but especially his passes and his defensive working aren't that good. His long passes are most times unreachable and how I said sometimes he stays in his position when the opponent are going for an attack (a bit like Kroos, but Reaml Madrid has Casemiro and a world class defensive).
Yeah well what about decision making? 1:57 should be hitting a through ball to the striker in acres of space but instead carries on his run & loses possession.
3:58 should be hitting that out left to the winger who has a better chance & squaring it to the striker.
6:50 all the time in the world to send that out right or left & he takes an unnecessary challenge from behind. Can't believe he hasn't picked up more injuries.
Not to mention he dives into a lot of challenges & allows himself to take the brunt of a lot of challenges.

I have never seen a midfielder this complete. He's got everything you wish for: height, strength, passing, balance and finishing. Heard he wants to play in England. This is the kind of midfielder Man Utd is crying out for. A dynamic midfielder who can make things happen. Hope Mourinho is in for him

I’m not saying this just because I’m a Bayern fan but really Goretzka is one of the most complete Central Midfielders (CM) right now.
He’s tall (1,89), really fast (he’s actually too fast for a central midfielder), his physical is insane(including stamina), and good at dribling. Let’s not forget that he only is 23 years old.

At the same age, Gerrard was a driving force behind LFC winning the cup treble. Schalkes current team is of a similar standard, Goretzka needs to show that same driving force to be on the same level.
I say he's the German Gerrard due to the potential (plus his physic is similar), not current ability.

The differeneces between him and emre can is the fact that goretzka has a brain cell and does not loose the ball cheaply. Their style of play are more or less the same but the thing is emre thinks he can bulldoze his way pas the whole team when he simply can't. Free players are never free. The club signing Goretzka is going to pay a giant signing bonus to him and his agent plus a very high salary because of the bidding war. If he doesn't fit in the new club/city/team he'll be the kind of player that goes loan after loan to the end of contract because nobody wants to pay his full salary. We've seen this before.
Still cheaper though. The latter of what you say can hold true for more expensive players too.
