On the final night of classes, they all dance and have a good time. Teddy and Carrie (Tiffany Haddish from Girls Trip) share a friendly dance, which is interrupted when Lisa shows up, as Stewart had invited her and Maya to come check out the school and potentially help with renovations. Teddy is forced to explain himself and reveal that he's been going to night school. All his friends try to defend him to Lisa.

What’s the Night School movie about?
In 2001, high-school student Teddy Walker (Kevin Hart from Ride Along and Think Like a Man) drops out of school when he's unable to concentrate during a crucial test. In 2018 he works as a barbecue-grill salesman and dating a wealthy woman named Lisa (Megalyn Echikunwoke from House of Lies), and has developed a careful financial strategy that allows him to maintain the illusion that he is better off than he actually is. But his life falls apart just as he learns that he will inherit control of the store when the current manager retires: As he proposes to Lisa in the shop, he accidentally triggers an explosion when a champagne cork pops open a gas tank; the manager runs away with the insurance from the explosion. Teddy's friend is willing to give him a job--if he can earn his GED.

My problem with this is that Stewart never knew about Teddy’s lie to Lisa. So what exactly was Stewart trying to do by bringing Lisa to the school?
