Laughing so hard as someone who flies through Dayton 4 times a year at “there is not a full flight to Dayton” yeah, even Christmas the Dayton Airport is a ghost town I love it
I genuinely feel like airlines are such scam artists. I’m glad there’s going to FINALLY be more regulations to hold them accountable for the BS they pull. Last time I had major travel issues with flight delays and cancellations, every Delta basically gave me the middle finger when I was panicking about how I was going to get home and told me I should have bought the more expensive ticket lol. While everyone around me who got more expensive tickets got rebooked automatically or got vouchers, I had to beg probably 15 different people to help me get home from New Orleans to NYC and in the end, a 2 hour direct flight ended up being 3 days stranded in various airports taking BS connecting flights, just to ultimately be stranded again in VA and having to rent a car to drive back to New York. Delta didn’t refund us for anything. Why? Our cheap tickets lol.
When people are saying that they “can’t” do something to your ticket it isn’t always because they don’t have the ability, but because they’ve been instructed not to and are trying to follow directions. I understand the larger issue of the multi-million dollar corporation, but a lot of the workers are just trying to earn their paychecks without having to put their tails on the line, and I’m sure they get tired of people asking them to. I don’t think it’s a surprise that they don’t want to upgrade you when it specifically says in your purchased ticket class that you aren’t eligible. If you want to be able to upgrade, purchase standard economy next time.

At the place I work (a financial institution), I have so many coworkers that genuinely DO NOT help people when they literally could and should. I kindof hate when I encounter this type of behavior in a customer, but honestly, I get it. Some people actually do suck and don’t want to do their job and help you.
The US does not have a “bill of rights” regarding air travel- Europe does. We have no protections in this country, that has bailed out the airline industry, more than once. I have had so many horrendous experience on airlines, and there’s not anything currently that we can do about it. If anyone in your community starts advocating for an airline, Bill of Rights, please support them!

There is nothing worse after a fun trip to have issues at the airport. It ruins the fact you were even on a mini vacation!
GOOD FOR YOU!!! customer service is such a joke EVERYWHERE YOU GO!!! IT DOES NOT EXIST ANYMORE!!! Back 15 yrs ago when I worked retail I would have NEVER TREATED CUSTOMER the way I'm treated EVERYTIME I go ANYWHERE!!!
It’s insane. I was at Lowe’s for literally 3 and a half hours a couple of days ago. I was all excited because I was surprising my man with a grill, and no one was willing to even just check out my items and get a guy to help load it into my truck. I went to the garden center- I wanted to buy Citronella plant because the mosquitos are bad here. There was three workers all just standing by the counter which doesn’t bother me but when I asked if they had it- one of the guys say I don’t know. And then the girl worker was like we don’t know anything about the plants.
So I was like okay I’m just going to go buy the grill. There was no workers around, again not a big deal. I just picked the grill myself and wrote down the item number and went to customer service, I stood there for over 30 minutes before they sent me to self check out, self check out sent me to the lumber check out, and the check out told me to go back to customer service. At that point, I was like would you please just help me out, I’ve been to every check out aisle in the store and no one will help me. So they went ahead and rang me up and then said now, “just go show your receipt to customer service, they’ll get someone to come outside, unlock the grill and put it in you truck” (which the lady in lumber was super nice) so I went to customer service and she called over the intercom for someone to come and told me to go wait outside, I waited for another 20 minutes outside and I went back in to customer service and said “I’m just going to wait in here. It’s too hot out there” and she was like oh I’ll call again so she gets over the intercom again and says “if any employees are available and can help a customer load something into her truck” and guess what? No one came. The other gentleman working the other register (a 70 year old man) was like I can help her. Actually insane. This guy was so freaking kind. We go outside and he realizes he has to call the manager because the grills are locked and then he tells the manager he’ll need another guy to help him put the grill in the truck, and I was like I can help you. And he was like no that’s okay we can get someone. So the manager calls over one of the guys that collects the shopping carts from the parking lot. The guy walks over and the 70 year old worker is still trying to get the chains out from the grill to get it completely unlocked. As soon as the manager goes inside the shopping cart just walked away without helping to load it into my car. The 70 year worker was like “did he just leave?” And I was like yes, you know what I’ll just help you, and the older worker was like “im sorry” and so I helped him load it in the truck. When we were done, I saw the shopping cart guy pushing carts in and I was like “sir what’s your name?” He told me his name and then walked over with a completely changed attitude (now that I know his name. Of course the only reason he even gave me the time of day is because I can report him to management) he said “oh yeah I just walked away because I’m not good at loading stuff” what an effing joke.
I think you need to till up the backyard or give her a good metal raking and break up the Earth and get the rock out of there. Definitely add some soil in with the rock if you can't get the rest out and do the grass seed again , or maybe just do more grass seed and see what happens and reassess next year 🤷 good start tho for sure to bad about the tomatoes, we like to do ours and pots from fleet farm. You can keep them on the deck. That way you can have a good eye on them. My mom's always got the deer eating on her stuff! Or the bunnies 🐇

I remember when grubs left a 15x15 ft spot on our grass - completely eaten away and just soil left. We tried grass seed but it took FOREVER. I wound up digging up random patches of grass (with the grass roots) from anywhere around the yard I could - alongside the sidewalks, driveway (giving it a nice edged effect) - then cutting a flap into the soil of the bare spot and inserting the grass pieces. I just did an hour or so a day for a week, and within the month the patch was 90% filled in, the grass just wound up spreading like wildfire. Never doing grass seed again!

I have to spray a deer and rabbit repellent at least once a week and it’s awful because it legit smells like what I think updog would smell like.

I hate airlines! I was traveling from Denver to St. Louis by myself with my 1 year old. It was a 5:30am flight and we BARELY missed it. The lady at the desk was so rude to me and said “the only reason you’re getting on the next flight is because you have a baby”

Like whats the point of being so rude to people. I feel like customer service has gone sooo down hill. Idk what’s going on, but my boyfriend and I always talk about where we’re at (Lafayette, Louisiana) the gas station workers and the fast food workers are sooo unwilling to do their job or even just be descent. We’re all just trying to get through our day.

i would go full Karen and complain to Delta corporate. I was just on a southwest flight. The lady who checked my bag was able to check all available flights/upgrades AT the baggage check in. She gave me all my options and processed it all right there... it took like 10 minutes max.
