Alopecia areata at 15 can be distressing, as it causes patchy hair loss due to the immune system attacking hair follicles. Its exact cause is unclear but may involve genetics and environmental factors. Treatment options vary, including topical medications, injections, or light therapy, and it's crucial to consult a dermatologist for proper care. Many individuals experience hair regrowth, and seeking emotional support through counseling or groups can be beneficial.

That could be a lack of vitamin D. Feb/mar/april are the months just after winter where we have not had much sun exposure due to being inside so much. Many people are low in vitamin D around this time. Maybe that could be it?

@Gokul-Revathi Minoxidil itself doesn’t typically cause gray hair, but some users have reported changes in hair color or texture. This could be due to individual reactions, underlying health conditions, or simply the natural aging process. If you notice significant changes, it’s best to consult a dermatologist or healthcare provider for guidance. 😊
I've had long hair for the past 3 years, today I noticed a round bald spot on the lower right handside of my scalp. I might put a 12ga through my cerebrum.
@slaphappy6362 I'm really sorry you're dealing with alopecia areata and experiencing such distress. It's understandable to feel upset when noticing sudden hair loss. It’s important to reach out to a healthcare professional or a dermatologist who can provide support and explore treatment options with you. They can offer guidance on managing symptoms and help you find a path forward. Please consider talking to someone who can offer professional help and support during this challenging time.

@Baldrick_dogsbody Understanding the connection between alopecia areata and autoimmune conditions, especially after a COVID-19 infection, can be a big step toward managing it. COVID-19 has been linked to triggering or exacerbating autoimmune responses in some cases. It's important to work closely with a healthcare provider to explore treatment options and manage any underlying conditions. You're not alone in this, and seeking the right support can make a difference.
Alopecia areata is auto immune and cannot be cured. Male pattern baldness (also known as androgenetic alopecia) is NOT auto immune- it is due to hormone levels and can be treated with hair transplants unlike alopecia areata

Thank you SO much for this explanation. You nailed it!
What I’m going to say it’s very weird but idk if anyone else can relate for these past 3 years I have been getting the mm bald spots and the weird thing is that it’s always between February/March/April and by August it has regrown until the next feb/mar/apr and it has been 3 years like that does anyone experience something similar
That could be a lack of vitamin D. Feb/mar/april are the months just after winter where we have not had much sun exposure due to being inside so much. Many people are low in vitamin D around this time. Maybe that could be it?
I hate alopecia. I've been dealing with it since middle school. It goes away for a couple years and then comes back and then goes away. Rinse repeat...
@IR088Y I'm really sorry to hear that you've been dealing with alopecia areata for so long. It must be frustrating to go through those cycles of it coming and going. You're strong for managing it all these years, and I hope you find some relief and lasting solutions. Stay strong-you've got this.

After using minoxidil may it causes grey hair ??😟anyone reply.....

Me to bro u got any answers?
I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata few days ago and I lost A LOT of hair already to the point I can see my scalp but the bold patch oval in shape remained the same size, what am freaking out about is every day I wake up in the morning and there is a lot of hair on my pillow and this loss is not stopping is this normal ? Does this mean am going to get the rare totalis 😥? Is there hair growing at the same time 5his is happening to give me some hope ? Am a middle age male and usually have a lot of hair. Please help.
Accept the faith bro!!!
How are you doing now?
I had a male friend who lost all of his hair all over his body. Years later all of his hair has return eyebrows and all. There's hope. I recommend going to see your physician/dermatologist or a trichologist in your area if you have one. P.s I'm also a certified Trichologist. Everyone's story is different best wishes and don't give up hope.
Immediately check a dermo and get it sorted

@bruhski6693 I’m really sorry you’re going through this-it’s tough dealing with something like that, especially when it affects how you feel about yourself. Waiting for results can be stressful, but remember that getting answers is the first step towards finding a solution. Hang in there, and hopefully, the results will give you clarity and a way forward. You're not alone in this, and things can get better! 💙

guys I just discovered a circular bald patch on the back side of my head and I'm freaking out what what i do
Now i know why i have alopecia. I think i have autoimmune disease following covid -19 infection damage.
Male pattern baldness is also alopecia right? I dont understand the difference. I read that andregenetic alopecia is male/female pattern baldness.
Alopecia areata is auto immune and cannot be cured. Male pattern baldness (also known as androgenetic alopecia) is NOT auto immune- it is due to hormone levels and can be treated with hair transplants unlike alopecia areata
@@evandaila8752 yea but aren't you describing two different types of alopecia. It's the same as saying two different types of balding. if you are balding, you also have a type of alopecia right?
@@jayhamster11 alopecia is just a term for hair loss, I’m describing the 2 most common kinds
Correct. The term "Alopecia" means hair loss and covers many conditions. Alopecia areata is one type, causing patchy hair loss. Using "alopecia" to specifically mean alopecia areata is incorrect, as it includes various types like androgenic alopecia (male/female pattern hair loss) and many others.
@@billybathgate1836 thanks
Anyone have smoking cigarettes affect AA?
I used to thought I have alopecia but it was just a matter of changing my diet. Gluten and poor diet in carbohydrates causes my hair to fall so I have to rigidly follow my specific diet if I want to keep my hair.
