Let's be real, we get a taste of the real value to Mora through the canned knowledge in Sumeru (specifically Cyno's quest) where simple stuff can easily fetch 10k and the average person could still fork that over easily (not even counting all the prices for Premade food). She's just incredibly bad at budgeting outside of her wants and her rent.

Asian currencies differ from one to another but they usually have about two zeros more than the dollar, and this is put to practice in games too. Those 10K are something like tenth thousand pennies, so you’re looking at still affordable but pricey 100 bucks cost.

In her defense (but also kinda Mona’s defense) their friendship was based on unknown mutual pity for what each of them assumed the other was going through. Amy did do that out of kindness, she just thought she was helping someone who didn’t have any means to help themself, which Mona *would* if she had some basic financial literacy. On the other hand, Mona didn’t know a lot about Amy when she first met her, and given how eccentric her behavior is, it’s kinda understandable why Mona would just assume Amy had few (if any) friends. Obv she knows better now, but she also thought she was doing something helpful for someone who she presumed couldn’t help themself, in this case by actually hanging out with Fischl and getting to know her.
