- Phone Arena reviews the Sony Ericsson Satio. It is the manufacturers first all-in-one device, packing a 12-megapixel camera with Xenon flash, a Symbian S60 5th Edition OS, 3.5-inch touch-sensitive display with 16:9 widescreen format and a resolution of 360x640 pixels.
2021 and I still miss the phone...

The SuperiorGalaxy sony mobile are not the same. Erisson and Sony basically team up to create sony ericsson brand. Sony mobile only from sony company

Actually sony ericsson discounted in 2012 but they use the logo until 2013.
Another thing there not the same because sony want to expand there phone line by the Swedish phone company ericsson in 2001
love the design, this silver version impresses even more than the black. A camera with a phone, not the other way round, exactly suits me. Gonna GET it in 2018
This used to be my dream phone back in the day. I've always wanted to have Satio and Aino.
remember the mega-pixel doesn't really make a difference if the the lens is crap. it seems ok though. im just v impressed on how they skinned symbian! makes it look much more up to date
2021 :') loved this time.
uve gotta go for the satio man. the bl40 is never ending, its massive lol plus the satio is better featured, more attractive etc.

I'd still love one of these but the poor build quality of the C905 puts me off a little sadly.
I know Sony phones are so similar in main features that it's hard to pick on

Sony ericsson satio is better than omnia hd or pixon12 in many ways. The picture quality is not just the concern, and the satio's pictures are not bad at all. This is gonna be my next phone!!

@smithidiot yes, take the satio! the camera on the vivaz is not covered wich gives scratches on the long run on the lens. The X10 requires often an extra payment next to your provider (at least in the netherlands that is) I made a great deal on the Satio, very very pleased!!
can the video calling camera able to use to take pictures or its just good for video calling only?

satio vs. Pixon? i like them both (maybe a bit mor for the pixon 12...) but really who is better? i want great pics and great video and a good internet browser any one got anyidea which one is beter?
@younokt it records...864x480 @ 30fps with fast auto light conrast adjustment, which means a lot better :)

@alextheracingboy In term of what? camera(obviously the satio win), screen( amoled on c7 ftw :) ), processor (again c7), value for your money (.....n97 cheaper, but better avoid it), 3rd party apps maybe?
there must be something wrong with it then, because my satio is brilliant and has great apps and battery life.
@smithidiot get xperia x10, it runs on android (much better os than symbian, the ones on vivaz and satio). Xperia also has a 1ghzsnapdragon processor compared to the 600 on the satio. Xperia also has a brilliant 4inch capacitve screen (which generally people prefer), as it is much more sensitve. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, while the satio does not. Satio wins, in the camera department (not by much though 12.1mp -> 8.1mp). Vivaz is pretty much Satio with 720p recording :S (8.1mp camera)

@MieluChitaristu I am no iPhone fanboy, however iPhone 4 is just a superior phone? It can be easily justified for its price. Retina display, powered by an Apple A4 processor (1GHz), with 960x640 resolution. Megapixels arn't everything, have you seen pictures taken by the iPhone 4? They are amazing, clear as day, and beautifully saturated. And the same goes with its 720p HD recording. With capacitive multitouch screen, superior to the resistive screen on the Satio. And Satio runs Symbian -_-

Wow 3 years ago 3.5'' screen was considered huge now it's standard size..
And now it's considered tiny, even 4.5" is considered tiny
Now 6.3inch is considered as normal
@MysteriousMe007 It's resistive touchscreen, what do you expect... I had to brake my finger to scroll down several photos. On the other hand, it lags like hell while loading songs/photos. The browsing experience is awful and a struggle. The only good thing is the camera - but with its 5 FPS it only annoys you... I don't think this phone is worth it anymore.

i suppose the best thing about the touch not being as good as the htc hero or the iphone is that you wont be hitting any icon u dont by mistake lol.

android was released in 2007-2008 .. this phone was released in 2009
@delaine04jelo and also the touch screen should be call the punch screen, except when it is on your pocket then it should be call the press every button screen and cut people off screen, and if you want to make a call you will have to press me five times screen, but if you do want to make a call I hope its not an emergency because i will do that in my own time screen!
why is it no other manufacturer can make a touch screen as responsive as the iphone and palm pre, i understand apple threw its back at the iphone but the company that makes palm isnt 1/10 the size of sony so come on.
@MysteriousMe007 the upgrade changes the aspect to wide screen, but does not improve the quality, i tried all the upgrades before finally giving up on this god awful phone, probably the worse niggle with this phone is, more often than not if it rang whilst on you pocket, you would cut off the call before you even got it out, my mum got into a habit of phoning me twice once as notification that she wanted to speak to me the second call for when i had the phone in my hand!

yes but the S3 has an 8mp camera with HD support LED focusing and samsungs matrix focus technology it it waaaaaaaaay better despise the less amount of mp and the resolution of the screen is higher way higher if you asked me wich gives a much britter and intense colours and the SUPER HD AMOLED alone will rase the colours of the picture the quality of the camera doesnot depend only on the amount of mp OK.

@starmad6 nope everything's fine,if it's laggy or hang all d time they will need to stop producing this phone, battery life is 12 hour talk time, iphone3gs=5hour talk time though resolution is crappy in iphone, internet ?? search more online....I think u've been overwhelmed by rumors because of the jealousy of camera and good hardware, why don't u try @ d retailer shops? So dat u'll find out truth by urself. Cheers...
