This is crazy good 😍 I’ve read the actual Fanfic Chapters this is based on and its an incredibly amazing story, though the writer hasn’t quite finished it yet. I really hope he/she/they does thought and that Leo will reunite with his family again.🥺♥️

For anyone who doesn’t understand
In the cartoon splinter was tricked into a contract where he had to fight every night in a type of “fight to death mutant cage match” it was before he was mutated and adopted the turtles. It was traumatic and after he escaped he made a vow to never fight again on breaking it to save the turtles.
In this animatic the same has happened to Leonardo, he fights every night to the death just like Splinter and by the end of the video he’s grown numb to the killing and violence, just trying to survive like everyone else in that horrible place.
It’s not uncommon for people with extreme mental or physical trauma, their brain blocks out emotions or sometimes even memories to try and protect you.
All the while his friends and family are looking for him.
Anyway that’s how I understand this but everybody has their own interpretation.nits still amazing

Thats pretty close! Idk if u havent read the fic, but its where leo is kidnapped by Baron and is tortured into becoming a weapon. I think he was put in the battle nexus to desensitize him to murder. Im sorry if this was unnecessary im sure you probably saw the other comments
I’ve got a similar plot for a fanfic of a South Korean series called ZombieDumb. In the series, a little 9-year-old girl named Hana befriends a group of zombies, each other with different interests. Well then, the fanfic’s named “Cannon fodder” and it’s about Hana, along with many other children, being captured by a secret military force who plans to eradicate the undead. Hana’s head gets shaved bald and she’s injected with a drug cocktail in order to maintain her awake and alert. Meanwhile, the ZombieDumbs go on search for her, reluctantly alongside a rival zombie gang.

I've started reading it too because of this. The animatic kept coming up in my recommended. So, I decided that I should watch it.
The entire video is literally Leo being forced to fight in a tournament for other peoples entertainment slowly going from a quippy sarcastic hero to a sad horrified kid just wanting to get out of the situation he’s in and then after that he turns into a blood shedding killer, while watching the video you can see he doesn’t want to be there and is slowly breaking down from his morals becoming a killer as is brothers cry for his return. You can feel the heart break in every single second of the video which makes it even more beautiful, and it keeps us guessing how did Leo get into this situation in the first place
It feels even worse when you know what happens after...

Im so in LOVE WITH THIS SONG! I can't stop rewatching this song, its to OUTSTANDING. This song goes good with the story and what's happening. The song if basically saying Theres no one to save you, so what are you going to do. What are you going to do to save yourself. And that's exactly what's going on in this story. Absolutely LOVE IT!
I encourage everyone here to read the fic! It's really good and will put you on the edge of your seat!

I have no words to describe truly how amazing this is. The animated moments are so freaking good! This fanfic was purely gutwrenching and heartbreaking to read and you depicted that very very well in this animatic. I LOVE how you depicted the scene of Mikey finding Leo on the tv screen at the bar. The emotional intensity of him dropping the missing posters as he’s shocked to finally find his brother out of literally nowhere. Absolutely incredible and stunning work.

I heard the song for the first time on 22nd of July, and then six days later (on 28th), when I learn that someone had used it for a rottmnt animatic (and even for a fanfic that I LOVE) I got very happy and excited. (The song was uploaded back in February, so I think this was a funny coincidence, OK?)
Anyway what I want to say is thank you for making and sharing this long, detailed animatic which must have taken you a lot of hard work and dedication to make!

As soon as I saw the first episode with the collar, I immediately knew this could cause some HEAVY angst.
I'm at the part where he's in his first fight, and all I've been thinking since the second he got the shock collar on is, 'What if when they get him back and get the collar off, he just becomes...mute?' Because throughout this fic, by my assumption, he's not gonna be able to talk without getting shocked, so what will happen when he can? Survival instinct still dictates he doesn't, so will be just be silent for a really long time? And poor Mikey, Raph, and Donnie. They try to get their brother back and they do...but they also don't because this isn't the brother they lost, this is someone else. Someone who doesn't talk, doesn't joke, and isn't emotive at all.

I'd heard of this fanfic but never gave it a shot because I'm not a huge fanfic person, but this has changed my mind. Also, you cannot believe the emotion I got just by hearing the music, as I use this song as a theme for an ex-gladiator D&D character I play. I immediately recognized the song and internally just went "oh no".
On a different note, I absolutely love this animatic! I love having the lyrics on screen and you do a fantastic job conveying the emotions in these characters. Keep it up!

I’ve recently been getting into ROTTMNT. I grew up on TMNT, and the last incarnation I watched was the 2k12 incarnation. That had been … disappointing at some turns, to say the least. So I was scared to watch ROTTMNT because I was scared of having expectations and being disappointed again, up until a bit ago. I fell in love with the animation style, and the personalities of the characters was just - chef’s kiss is all I can say and hope other people understand.
Your animatic is amazing, the art really bringing scenes of the fic to life! And this was the first time I heard this song, so I’m glad my first time hearing it was with such an emotional animatic!
I hope you keep up the good work, because it was a great privilege getting to see this video!

this animatic inspired me to not only continue and finish watching rottmnt but also read this fan fic, and i almost never read fan fic. a day or two before finding this i watched the movie and was totally hooked into it - that movie and this fanfic are why leo is my favorite character now.
i was part of the crew that was like "this is too diferent from the turtles *i* know" but seriously guys, at least watch the movie - leo says "badass" at like the very start and it's partially why i kept watching it lol SO WORTH IT THOUGH. rottmnt's cartoon is such a good watch for character interaction and animation, too. each episode is only 11 minutes long so you can binge it in no time.
