Pasigarbo sa Sugbo Festival Queen 2019 - Palawod Festival

Palawod Festival is an annual celebration of the municipality of Bantayan. The festivity depicts the daily life of fishermen in the island. “Palawod” is a Cebuano term which means “to go out to sea” for the purpose to fish.
Bantayan Island is a fishing island group found in the Visayan Sea. The island is divided into 3 municipalities, namely: Madridejos at the north, Santa Fe at the east and Bantayan in the center.
The Palawod Festival depicts the unique fishing traditions of Bantayan. It is annually held every June 29 in honor of the town’ patron saints: Peter and Paul.
