Glad you like the changling! I remember seeing it at a super young age cause my mom had it on vhs, that old clamshell box with the wheelchair freaked me out! It’s one of my favorites of all time!!

I rewatched all of these films and I feel the same way as you! These were boring when I was younger but 15 plus years later all of these are a masterpiece 👍

YES! Thank you for putting your phone in another room. That is the best viewing experience. I love The Omen, The Changeling, and Friday the 13th. I very much enjoy Drag Me to Hell (it is somewhat based on Curse of the Demon). I do still need to see TCM Next Generation. Thanks for the video.

Great video! I've always liked The Omen, Friday the 13th and The Changeling but will have to revisit Drag Me To Hell as I wasn't too impressed when I watched it years ago. I haven't seen TCM Next Generation but you make some good points as to why you liked it. I can't think right now of any movies that I drastically changed my mind on but it's definitely an interesting topic!

Great nom on _The Next Generation_ = weirdness runs throughout strangely good horror films- _Brain Damage, The Vineyard, Hellgate, Sleepwalkers, Christmas Evil, Silent Night Deadly Night 3, Wolf_ (it's kind of weird), god knows the _Leprechaun_ franchise seems like it was devised by a bunch of people higher than kites.

Wow... speaking of changing opinions: I changed my mind on Sam Raimi's _Evil Dead II_ (I didn't used to like it) but I don't know about _Drag Me to Hell_ - I'm actually giving this video a *Like* vote and I don't do that very often.

I 100% agree with you about TCM4 but being such a huge fan of 80's special affects I absolutely hate the CGI in Drag Me To Hell. It totally takes me out of the movie.

I can agree with that. But it IS still a sam raimi movie

Christian Hanna Horror very true! I do like the story in the movie I just wish these studios wouldn't be so lazy with the special affects.

This is an interesting topic. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 was a movie it took me a while to get. Like, after 10 years and 5 rewatches, it just suddenly clicked with me. I appreciate it now for what it deliberately avoids (trying to be like the original TCM) and enjoy all the things it does as it's own film. TCM the Next Generation I'm still not quite there on, but I do love Matthew Mcconaughey's intensity.

      Matthew is absolutely nuts

My 2 i changed on are Friday the 13th part 5, and Halloween 3. I never disliked them, but now they both rank in my top 10 probably.

I'm hoping I can get more into Evil Dead 1 and 2. Both to me are way cheeseball over the top, and I get that's the point, but it's not really funny because the pacing of the movies seem to just do the same thing over and over. I always enjoy the first ten minutes of the movie when the creepy ambiance is being set but then the constant quick tracking shots and Ash's repeat of the same facial expression just gets old to me.

I think your situation (set-up, distractions, film presentation, ect.) and mood have a lot to do with your first impression with a movie. Saw Drag me to Hell in theaters with friends and had a blast cutting jokes and being typical disruptive teenage shitheads. It's definitely a fun popcorn movie.
Here are a few for me that really were a result of rewatching them and tossing any expectactions I previously had
RZ Halloween. Not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination but overall a creates a solid atmosphere and delivers a menacing killer.
The Blair Witch Project. Avoided this like the plague after my dad told me it was terrible as a kid. Works best when you set the mood and start letting your imagination run.
Curse of the Puppet Master. Definitely the worst listed here but still kinda cheesy fun and no where near as bad as Legacy. When I first rented this at 12 I thought it was total shit. Several films and years later I can get a laugh at shortcuts and wooden acting.

Hm, movies that I changed my mind on. I honestly don’t have a clue. Lol Next Generation is only worth watching because of Matthew.

The Next Generation knows exactly what it is. It’s over the top in a fun way, and the tone is perfectly conveyed.
