- Welcome back everyone to Hearts of Iron 4, today I'll be trying one of the best new mods - Pax Britannica: An Imperial Timeline. Set in an alternative history, mech units are now a thing and they are AMAZING - who knew HOI4 + mechs would be so fun.
Welcome to Pax Britannica: An Imperial Timeline, an alternate history science fiction mod for Hearts of Iron 4.
Taking place in the wake of a failed American Revolution, the mod focuses on the substantial changes this causes in world history, compounded by the success of Nikola Tesla's Wireless Power Concept. The Victorian Era has been flash frozen by this advancement, creating an anarchic mix of the Jazz Age, Wellsian science fiction and transhumanism. The world is both familiar and utterly alien, and the mod seeks to explore that universe and provide a unique style compared to other overhaul mods.

This mod is really sweet. Did you take any inspiration from Iron Harvest/ what it was based on? i also think the wolfenstein-esque Panzer hounds are awesome
@@tachankskang oh yeah quite a bit of inspiration was taken from Iron harvest, bioshock, red alert, fallout, war of the worlds, dishonored and wild wild west along with a whole bunch of other shit for the sci fi stuff.

Those people have never tried to run a post industrial army without caffeine. Trust me, the tankers need their damn tea and coffee and don't argue about it, they're the ones aiming the turret.

I don’t think this mod is named after it but probably got ideas from it
@@thewalkingtree7077 You might be thinking of Leviathan, it's actually a similar kind of world where the entente uses biologically engineered animals for fighting and the central powers uses mechs and advanced machinery.

Judging by the fact that there is a Basque Republic, I think it's pretty clear there's a Basque developer behind the team of the mod.

I can also say with 100% certainty that there is a Romanian developer on the team as well, wanna know how? I saw another vid on the mod before this one and decided to try the mod out to see how the Balkan war might go as Romania, and realized upon starting the game that Romania actually has events tied to it, and a (currently non-functional) "Legionnary Coalition" button on the government screen, which is a lot more than what you'd expect at this stage of the mod.
Oh and also there's almost certainly a brazilian dev too, since there's a whole collapsed Brazil situation at game start and you can reunify Brazil as multiple of the break-away states or reunify as the remnants of the Brazilian Empire itself.

@@newromanianmappernrm4420 yeah there was a point up until a year ago where there was no real focused on any nation so people would go about adding content to random nations regardless of relevance (Finland at one point had the largest tree) and this was the case up until about a year ago where it was decide that the main nations like the uk Germany russia (ended falling into development hell) and France should be the focus of development.

Imagine living in this timeline as France. You united your country, advanced into the Benelux and created it seems the most powerful alliance in the world. You satrted advancing into Germany together with Russia and your victory seems assured. You hear that the British have joined with the Germans but pay no attention as what can they do towards the powerful French army? I mean their ships can't go on land can they. Suddendly you hear reports of British troops landing in Cherbourg but think no more of it. Then you hear more reports of mechanized Death Machines who destroy everything in their way but are sceptical of their existence. A month later your country has suddendly fallen to the British and you are forced to return to your country who has fallen into complete chaos. You are now completely confused about what the hell just happened and right then you see them. The Death Machines, they march past you on their Biped legs and you just stand there and wonder, how these hilarious looking machines have done imesaurable destruction and will now be a burden to other armies of Europe. You laugh and months later you read in the newspaper that the Russians and Italians have been defeated.

Ahh, the iron harvest 1920+/hoi4 crossover
This timeline looks like it would be a pretty cool setting for an Anime.
There's a pretty similar timeline in the Leviathan Trilogy by Scott Westerfield. It's pretty good.
the closest anime premise to this mod would probably be Code Geass. Basically Great Britannia owns most of the world and a noble pushes for an independence war in Japan. Knights drive gundham mech suits. what more do ya need

How four divisions brought an entire alliance to its knees:
UK still has the flag of St Patrick in the Union Jack, but they don't actually own any of Ireland (in the mod of course)
yes alex only monarchist run through for it is not the bad guys like fascist or boring like democracy
I find it kind of odd that infantry riding wheeled vehicles move at less than half the speed of massive X-pedal mechanized walkers. I wouldn't think they'd be that much slower - and quite honestly - I'd think they'd be faster than the mechs, but here we are.

I remember pax britannica before it turned into a steampunk mod, was a much more interesting mod with a very different story and gameplay
