Thanks for this video. I watched it because the manual for my Orion Hand Controller has a diagram (Fig1.b) which mislabeled the Serial and Hand Controller ports. I see the Serial port is the center port.
When doing a daytime alignment, (I only use the Moon) I get this very long and very slow scrolling message that dummies should not point the telescope at the sun. Is there any way to bypass that message and go straight to alignment? I'm 78 and of course I feel a bit stupid waiting on that long, slow, scrolling message each time.
I think I need a “telescope for dummies” video 🤦🏼♀️ I’ve watched all of these videos regarding my Orion sky quest XTg and still don’t know how to work this thing! Only thing I can decently see is the moon. my husband got me the 12inch jumbo model lol and I’ve never used a telescope in my life. 🤷🏼♀️ halp! Lol

Go to FaceBook and join some of the Astronomy groups, they can answer lots of questions. Also, if you have a local astronomy club, go to their meetings and talk with them.
@@Alexander-dy5ui See if you have a local Astronomy club to join. Members can show you how to use it. I just bought the same mount I am in a good Astronomy club and got this mount working but even with all I know it took a few hours to get it working good. Don’t give up. Orion also helped me but I did know a lot of it.

Yes, you can press the Enter key to skip the message and go to the next alignment step.
Will this work with an (Sky watcher az-gti) EQ polar align mode?
I bought the V5 specifically for my Sky Watcher AZ-GTi and it works perfectly with the small AZ-GTi mount.
