Mad Max Interceptor with functional supercharger and Scott Injection. The pretest before the initial ride on. croccustom.com / anthonyconvine / croc_custom
@Jon it IS where it belongs- with the correct owner. I hate jingoistic bullshit like you're serving. Save your money, buy one, and put it wherever you like! That's what this owner did, why can't you?
She's the last of the V8's Sucks nitro Phase 4 head Twin overhead cam 600 horsepower through the wheels With the blower He's in coma, man! HE LOVES IT !!!
"He told me he wanted the black car to look evil, it had to look different; and [the paint finish] had to be both gloss black and matte black. And that was about the extent of the brief' - Ray Beckerley
Actually I am doing some upgrades to mine which will make it a little different then most Interceptors. I will post them when I start to bring the pace up again.
Now take a ride to the desert and roll it a few times do it looks authentic. I think what made that car look best was it was beat to hell but would outrun the devil.
Half the reason is because of the Mad Max Interceptor. The others like the shape of the coupe. Very similar to the American Torino. Mind you the Americans were saying the same when we were crazy over the Mustangs.
"She's the last of the V8's, she sucks nitro, uh uh phase 4 head, twin overhead cam, uh 600 horsepower through the wheel, with the blower, oh shes meanness put to music and the bitch is born to run!"
It runs great but there are problems with the idle. Since then the motor is getting some upgrades. I have recently turned my focus back to my own injection system on my Interceptor..... updates are in other videos on the channel. More to come.
@@croccustom Nice. I went to Wasteland Weekend in 2010 and a fella there had an XB Interceptor replica and his supercharger was also functional. I believe he integrated EFI into the Scott injector set-up.
Yes there are a few out there but are going through different levels of builds. Which includes my very own Interceptor. Hopefully I can get some more video out there soon.
They are getting harder and harder to find. The prices of Australian Classic cars have gone out of control. Some people build them from similar shaped vehicles like Torinos.
Sim fico excelente a aparência..! Mas e a parte principal do projeto que o ponto máximo que e o acoplamento do blaower com o motor funcionando como se foce a passagem de um motor normal para aspirado????🤔
You are so right. I had not put the filter on at the stage. 35 years ago when I had my first functional interceptor I had to cover over the blower with a scoop to keep the rain out.
871 Detroit blower on a big block Ford. Throw on a truck air conditioner clutch tied to an aircraft lockout toggle switch. Hesitation Outlook kazoo. But throw the switch and watch that baby lite the tires. Massive power. Would love to have a mad Max
Haven't been able to get that far. Still ironing out all the glitches that come with the injection system. These set ups are rare and never really were perfected when they were sold
Somebody told me it is mechanically possible to make working supercharger that you can kick on off with the switch just would be extremely expensive and impractical but it got me thinking how you could actually do it you'd have to have some way of engaging the pulley and a way of shutting it off and it's separate breathing system or have a way it can breathe through the supercharger without having the turbine or rotors inside what ever u call um spin to draw air in I don't know I'm no engineer but it would be pretty damn neat to have a functioning supercharged you can f*** a switch turn on
Thought about it many times over the years. Everything you mentioned is exactly what you would have to consider . Toyota made a supercharger many years ago that did exactly that. I had one at the time but never looked into it enough to see how they did it. I guess it is only the Mad Max world that would appreciate the working blower. But as you said it would take a lot of engineering to make it work and a lot of testing. You can run the blower without the belt but it is very restricted on power because of the restriction of the internal rotors. Suction will turn them over slowly.
@@croccustom mate those front bucket seats look fantastic, theres no way they are just re done, meaning that not done to look like the factory units they have so much extra padding its not funny, mate you have done such a fantastic job its not funny, could we get in contact some how ie: The owner to have some photos with me and my son, i was told i had cancer back in 2012 had chemo and want to have something to give to my son as a present, we have the original Max mad photos taken of the mock up of the crash scenes done in cherry lane and pipe rod, which would be a great addition to the collection? It was a shame when the 40th came up, because of my disability etc, i just hope he lives in Vic and maybe i can get something down etc. :)
They are a factory reproduction. I had to add extra padding because the covers were stretched over the years because they were used as regular seat covers. Since the covers are expensive down under I decided to do the best I could and re-use them. It was hard to get out all the creases due to the amount of padding. Lots of other things had to change due to lack of parts here in the US. You can go to my Website, www.croccustom.com to find contact information.@@7071t6
Yes it is real. The Scott injection is also functional. I am working on my latest Interceptor which also has a functional Supercharger. You will see the progress on some of my other videos.
Sadly, his facebook page has the leftist "equality" symbol all over it. So perhaps he should give this car to charity or a museum...after all, its not fair that he has one of these the rest of us don't, right? Newsflash bozo...inequality is not always a bad thing...it means that people who work the hardest and who invest their time, energy and capital wisely are rewarded better than those who don't.
All these videos of Mad Max interceptor clones, and finally, one with a real working fucking blower! Thank you!
LOL..........Only the real thing from me. The same as I had over 35 years ago. Stay tuned you will see my latest blown 460 big block later this year.
Just thought this myself

There are a few others around including my own Interceptor.

I love the polished blower look. What a sexy beast that car is
Certainly stands out. But I think my latest Interceptor will have a satin black look. Not totally sure yet since I have all ready polished the blower.
Im amazed how Americans are so into xb falcons that were dime a dozen in australia 20 years ago

No, the Gran Torino is mine. But I do have a lot of movie prop items and replica cars.
We were doing a documentary on it but are still going through the process. This Interceptor was with me undergoing upgrades to the Injection system.
How mamy horsepower it has?
