I watch ALL of your videos and have made several items. I am displeased at the way some people speak to you. My heavens, you are teaching and taking your time to share with us. I hope you don't get discouraged. You do an amazing job. I have learned so much from your videos.
Thank you for all your wonderful videos. As soon as I finish my afghan & pillows wedding gift for a granddaughter, I shall treat myself to this lovely poncho ... only, using the leftover yarn from the gray/charcoal/white afghan. Very chic. In retirement, I rediscovered the joy of crocheting ... Yippee!
Hello Claire greeting from the Caribbean W.I. ... I have followed your instructions for this poncho both on the old and the new series you have posted ...have made many of your ponchos as gifts for my family who live abroad in colder climates .. Just wanted to say thank you so much for taking the time to be so clear with your tutorials. Tells me you really love what you do. May God continue to bless you on your life's journey.
Thank you! I've learned how to crochet hats and shawls because of you. I've watched so many of your tutorials that while I'm crocheting I'm saying my stitches in my head in an Aussie accent...I'm a Texan, lol. Thanks so much!
I love this pattern, I found it quite easy to make. I made the X-tra lg one, in white with gray trim. I am now on my second one using a tri-color yarn of blues and grays. Thank you so much for sharing your time, talent and patterns. :D
Wow cool, i'm going to give this a go. I already made the doll poncho which came out really well, considering i've never made a ponch before. Thankyou.
Made myself a poncho using this video and pattern and it turned out great. I wish there were a way to post a picture of the resulting poncho, because it turned out beautiful.
Hi Claire....thanks for all your tutorials...they are all great-lighting, volume, instructions and speed..... I have only one question after most of them though...how much yarn would I need?? can you remember how much was needed for this Xlarge project??....if you can tell me I'll start one today...... :) Many thanks in advance...xxx
This is a great tutorial. When the camera is focused quickly, it somehow does something with my vision but that's me not you. At first, I thought the poncho was the complete picture but it's each size, right?
Hi, thank you for this neat demo, I'm looking forward to doing this. How much yarn do you think I would need for the big one? I'm trying to figure out if I have enough with out a trip all the way into town! lol Thanks again!
HI there, I have a pattern on my website and it gives you the estimated yarn amounts :) Here is the link, thank you for watching www.bobwilson123.org/ponchos-and-shawls.html
you can start it at the neck but instead of joining at the end just go back and forth in rows. you will probably need extra stitches at the corners of the poncho.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback I have never added a hood to anything, can you try crocheting around the opening, stating at one shoulder and then crochet to the other shoulder ? and work back and forth
Hi how are you? I have a question, how many stitches do I make for a small poncho? I really want to make this poncho,it's really nice,I love it.You explain it vey good,I love youre video's.
Shout Out from Santa Maria, Calif...I admire how you explain your patterns and always look forwards your projects.im hooked on these ponchos I Love them im working on second one. I wanted to ask you..If you can please do a tutorial on a adult Bolero.
Hi there, this is Christie from bobwilson123 helpdesk. Yes you could certainly double up the yarn and yes you would have to go up a few hook sizes to the one which will give you a nice fabric. If you do this then I would suggest that you go down a poncho size.
I would like to know if there are any tips for making sure the chain does not get twisted when attaching. Thank you. I am starting this project for my oldest daughter.
Hi I like the way you introduce your stitches but I'm having a problem doing the extra large I did a hundred for it was okay but is a little bit too small for the head so can you show how to do the extra large
this is the video for that size. please follow along with the written pattern and video for each specific size. the pattern tells you how to work for each size. www.bobwilson123.org/granny-stitch-poncho.html
Hey Clare! I'd love to make these for my nieces. How many in the starting chain for girls' sizes? Of course, I'll put pics on FB. :-) But I'm not taking on ANY new projects until after Christmas.
Thank you for this wonderful tutorial! I tried to make one but I messed up somewhere on the stitching because it is not straight in front or back. Any idea what I did wrong?? thanks
Yes I do. I started another one because I think I did one of the stitches wrong in the first one. I have done eleven rows on it and I can tell its doing the same thing. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Would it help if I could try to send you a pic of it? I really don't know how or I would have already. Sorry.
Hi there I have not made that size BUT i did put the number of chains etc on the pattern - I had a lady that made the XXL and she said it turned out ok :) The pattern is here www.bobwilson123.org/ponchos-and-shawls.html

Hi Clare, I made this poncho before in the size of XL. Someone ask me to make one for them. The concern I have is, that she wants this poncho in the size of 5X. How many extra chains to I need to make that size ? Thank you for your reply !

good evening i made this poncho and when i finished it was unevened. i chained 96 hooks and following your instructions but near the end i didn't end up with 11 shells. What wrong with the instructions?
+Regina McDonald hi, you may have skipped a stitch or two in the beginning round. you should have three stitches between each cluster on the very first round and should be working into every fourth stitch
+Deanna Carr look up Cowl Neck Poncho on ravelry.com. There is a similar poncho but with a cowl neck, very pretty with multiple colors. I have made 4 already! This designer bobwilson123 also has patterns there.

sorry, but the extra-large is just extra-large. it will differ from person to person due to the way people crochet. I am not sure what their measurements are.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with this pattern. I have tried it and ripped out my stitches 4 times now because I can't get the first round right. Hi I'm sorry but I can't really say how much yarn it will take you. It all depends on what yarn you use, what hook size and your tension.
Love this pattern. It works up well.

Love this project. Do you think it would be possible to add a thick collar?
Love, love, love your tutorials, thank you!
I have never tried, but I am sure it would be possible, I would join the yarn around the neckline or make it separate and then sew it on

Hey! Thank you very much!
El poncho esta muy lindo
I love this poncho. I would like to add a collar on mine. How can I go about doing that any suggestions??
you can start it at the neck but instead of joining at the end just go back and forth in rows. you will probably need extra stitches at the corners of the poncho.
I love it you are the best
Can't wait to start this project! ! :-)
Hello, I absolutely love your channel! I was wondering how you would recommend adding a hood to this poncho
Thank you for your wonderful feedback
I have never added a hood to anything, can you try crocheting around the opening, stating at one shoulder and then crochet to the other shoulder ? and work back and forth
thank you so very much, just what I wanted to make, your instructions were great
I have made this poncho so many times, Thank you! Now I'm wondering if it's possible to add pockets to it??

Gabriela Gamez Hello, I am not sure how to make one, but if i do design one I will be sure to share a video and a written pattern
Loved this pattern easy to follow thanks to your video! I left off neck tie added fringe :)
Could you use two strands of yarn at the sane time? If i do should i go up hook size? Would the foundation chain stay the same?
Hi there, this is Christie from bobwilson123 helpdesk.
Yes you could certainly double up the yarn and yes you would have to go up a few hook sizes to the one which will give you a nice fabric. If you do this then I would suggest that you go down a poncho size.

You can always do the chain and then join at the end of the first row, and when you sew in the tail of the chain sew up the little gap that is left.
