Amen!
100 %!!!
Amen!.
Van was and is still a one of a kind artist
Bob Dylan once said "If you want to hear God smile, get Van Morrison to sing Tupelo Honey". Van is my favorite artist. All of his stuff is golden.
I can see why
❤❤❤
Thanks for that quote! Bob Dylan was spot on!
Couldn't agree more.
❤️
Van’s “Into the Mystic”... That’s one I feel in my very soul...
Sending love, from Clan Morrison...☘️❤️🍀
I cry every time I hear it!
My husband and I have loved Van Morrison since we were very young!! A special song for us is Brown Eyed Girl. He has blue eyes and I have dark brown. So he'd call me his brown eyed girl. When we are sad or worried we listen to Hymns for the Silence. Thanks Mr Morrison for years of love, joy and peace which we have found together in your music!!
into the mystic! The best.
.. when those foghorns blow…. it gets me every time. chills
@@knucklesandwich8786 Have a glass of bourbon, put that on and watch your troubles float away!
Nobody has a voice like Van Morrison, it’s so distinct and wonderful
So distinct that even he doesn't sound like this anymore!
@@jayash3539 Not many people do sound the same as they get older.
Hi Cynthia. I agree 100%. Sorry if this is late. I'm in the Rockies again. 😊👍✌️🇨🇦
@@marybaillie8907 Hi there hope you are having a good time. Visiting someone or just a vacation?

Van Morrison, the absolute definition of Irish Soul. Tupelo or Tipperary he taps into the human spirit. ✌️
well not Tipperary he is not from the Repuplic of Ireland
He’s from Belfast Northern Ireland which unfortunately is still
part of the U.K.
@@browsman2328 and what province of the UK is that In??
@@thequietman760 He did say unfortunately
@@jameswiglesworth5004 He lived here for years. Still has a house in Dublin. Spent 20 odd years married to a Dublin woman. And toured all over the island in the 1960s when his career started. Including Tipperary. Where he returned in 1990 and 1991 to play the Feile festival.
This is my “Tupelo Honey” story…my wife’s father had died back in 2016. My wife and I were going here/there. Had to get things done. Inform people. My wife was holding up as the super trooper she is. While we were running around on the H1 (Oahu, HI)…”Tupelo Honey” came on and as I kept driving…I noticed my wife was in tears and said “I lost my dad”. I immediately pulled over held my wife and we just cried together.
During that moment that I kept thinking how strong my wife was holding up…I realized my wife was just a human being and that we all have the right to be fragile…even if just for a moment…and that it would all be OK.
Every time this song comes on my playlist…I think back to this day. Think bout my wife. I then get teary eyed. I love “Tupelo Honey” so very much.
Love this song because of how it makes me feel. Appreciate you guys giving this an ear.
All-time favorite song of mine.
Thanks guys 💜🤙🏽
Beautiful story. Thank you for sharing.
His “Days Like This” is my all time favorite song. Such a feel good song.
Mine too ✌
Great song. Featured in the roadtrip in "As Good As It Gets". Very good movie, in case you haven't seen it.
Never heard a bad VM song. Keep going with him. Jay: as an older woman I just want to remind you that your sweet wife most likely would like to hear some sugar from you when you hear these touching, beautiful songs. Or a sweet kiss would go a long way too! (just remembering when I was a young wife with children depending on me 24/7- some sweet words of love can really be important)
Van Morrison. A musician's musician. He is very well respected for good reason.
not really..yawn ..boring ,lumbering song.........his voice is thin and nasally, ugly voice... 7:27 sounds like a cat dying.
@@TANTRUMGASM There's a lot of people who would disagree with you. But each to their own.
Just to provide some info - Tupelo honey is the sweetest honey because it has the highest fructose to glucose ratio. It is also the most expensive honey which is harvested by bees from the blossoms of the Tupelo sour gum tree.
Sooooo what
@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN You wouldn’t say that if you’ve ever tasted some, brother!
@@MultiPetercool I appreciated Brian H's comment as all I knew of Tupelo was Elvis was born in Tupelo MS. I knew this song but not the reference and I've never had tupelo honey as far as I know. I'll hafta try some!
@@obxtasy626 it’s about Elvis. It’s a metaphor.
@@obxtasy626 You really NEED to fix yourself a batch of biscuits, spread on some super-premium salted butter and some Tupelo honey....you will NOT regret it.
Van signing Caravan live on Last Waltz is one of the greatest recorded moments in music
Agreed. Although Joni singing Coyote ranks pretty high as well
vote that they watch the entire Last Waltz
Yes! I am play it over and over. If it comes up my daughter will say “mom, your favorite song!”
Covid canceled our planned 40th Wedding Anniversary party. I put this song on for my Annie and we danced to it at home. Piled up the spousal approval points on that one ;-).
Congratulations.
He's actually a pretty outspoken
Anti-Vaxxer.
He's back on the road. Hope you get to see him.
@@victorbortolussi2964 If he gets out Boston way I'll have to check him out. Thanks for the 411.
Listen to more van Morrison! You’ll love it!
Van is a genius. A legend. His voice and lyrics pierce your heart. Irish soul. Been following him since the 60's
Please do more Van. He is my favorite artist in the world! Has a bunch of great songs.
Same.
Van the Man. Two more good ones from his later career in the late 1980s are "Have I Told You Lately" and "Someone Like You". Gorgeous.
They will definitely melt Amber. Actually, most women will be swooned by them.
Oh, you guys!!!! Van Morrison and Tupelo Honey…magic. ❤ “These are the Days” and “Brown Eyed Girl”! So much passion in his work! Thanks, guys!
And Domino 😀
Love Brown Eyed Girls
You guys are doing great on picking through his songs. Into the Mystic, Brown Eyed Girl, Moondance and now Tupelo Honey. Each one of those are so great. They take you into another place and time. The voice and the music.
Now they need to listen to him singing Caravan with The Band in the Last Waltz. I think that’s my favorite.
Jay and Amber might like "Jackie Wilson Said" for a different side of Van
@@Wordsmyth8 The ultimate Mike drop.
I recommend "Wild Night" for your next Van Morrison song. It's one of his more rocking songs. "Domino" is anther one that you should hear at some point.
That’s exactly what I came to say.. I know they would truly love “Wild Night”, “Domino”, and I’d chip in “Jackie Wilson Says (When You’re Smiling)”
Writes, composes, arranges, sings, and plays sax, guitar, keyboards, harmonica..... The man is a brilliant artist.
You need to check out Van singing with (The Band) doing the song (Caravan) off of movie The Last Waltz
I have had a copy of this album, in many formats, since 1970. I will probably be buried with it. It has helped me through so many heartaches and happy times.
I've said it before, but Van Morrison is a world treasure. I don't think I've ever heard a bad VM song. Others to check out: my absolute favorite is St. Dominic's Preview. Others: Jackie Wilson Said, Cleaning Windows (his funkiest song!), Domino, Have I Told You Lately, And It Stoned Me, Wild Night, and Whenever God Shines His Light. That can get you further down the Morrison catalog. Great reaction, as always, y'all!
I mean, I would submit to you "TB Sheets", but even that is pretty damn great...
@@andyfletcher3561 I'm so glad they're enjoying Van, he's always been a favorite of mine.
@@ohfour-seven6228 Mine too. Since listening to the radio late at night in the car in the garage...That's why I learned hoe to hook up a battery charger LoL.
You've just named most of my favs, hard to find a bad one
@@BRIDINC1972 Thanks!
Jay is getting quite a catalog of love songs to sing to Amber 💙
So many great ones. In the Garden, Caravan, Madame George, the entire Astral Weeks album, entire Moondance album. Genius.
No guru, no method, no teacher
In the Garden is off my favorite VM album. Foreign Window is another fave of mine off that record as well.
one of the most beautifully produced love songs EVER. Van the Man!
'Bright side of the road' is a great upbeat tune by Van as a suggestion, as well as his most popular 'Have I told you lately. According to an interview, you'll never guess who he wrote it about. Keep up the great reactions.
THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! I ❤️❤️❤️ TUPELO HONEY and VAN MORRISON!! 👍😃❣️😃👍
More Van please! The best! Early, middle, late career you can’t go wrong. So many good tunes to choose from.
There aren't enough words to describe how much I love this song. Van Morrison is known as the Belfast Cowboy. He has a smooth, soulful delivery that just gets to you, no matter what he's singing. Not only is his voice perfect for this song, but the instrumentation is equally nice. Just one of those great productions that are simple, but moving.
Loved him for over 50 years now. If you ever get a chance to see him live don't pass it up. An extraordinary performer.
This is not 'just' a beautiful love song. The way the lyrics are delivered, accompanied by the perfect music, this sounds so respectful. Van is The Man!
This is wonderful. I love the soul and the sweetness together. When I need to hear Van I often play "Crazy Love." It is my favorite. It can make me sad or happy; the emotion is palpable. The production is simply orchestrated, but the bass line is killer.
Yes omg that’s SUCH a good one
This song is my favorite Van song, and that is saying something because his catalog is so deep and amazing. He is a poet and a soul singer. Amaze balls!
Yes
Van The Man
I believe this is his first album, with the song Brown eyed girl on it. I played this and played this and played this, this is my introduction to the great Van Morrison
CARAVAN...live with The Band from The Last Waltz concert.
Van Morrison. Don’t ya know he’s alright with me. One of my favorites❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Van Morrison has a varied songbook. But you must hear him when he was in THEM, in 60's.
"BABY PLEASE DON'T GO" IS FIRE!!!!!😎💌
YES!
Adjectives like luxurious, opulent and majestic describe this song. Unlike some vocalists who waste no opportunity to show off their pipes, Van Morrison has always utilized his fabulous voice simply as just another instrument in the composition. Each as important as the next.
Beautiful.
"MOON DANCE"
"INTO THE MYSTIC"
"WILD NIGHT"
"HAVE I TOLD YOU LATELY THAT I LOVE YOU"
one of the most beautiful love songs ever recorded, period.
Amber should check out his Astral Weeks album on her own. The entire thing is a masterpiece. I think she'd love it.
Sweet Thing and Someone like you are other really great ones.
Must hear And It. Stoned Me and Days Like This
Van Morrison's music is pure Irish poetry. Beautiful, romantic music.
This is one of his very best songs ever… It never gets old… Van Morrison had the most unique wonderful voice I’ve ever heard!
Honestly, what's left to say about Van Morrison, that hasn't been said before? Ok, he's wonderful. He's in his mid 70s these days, and still performs occasionally. So darn talented.
You have to do “And it Stoned Me” the story paints such a beautiful picture in your mind!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Before his solo career , Van Morison was lead singer in a group called Them. For a young Van Morison hit, check out “Here Comes The Night” by Them.
Great reaction to this wonderful song. This is my favorite song by Van ever since I first heard it back in 1971 brings back many fond memories listening to it. It's a probably one of the best love songs ever recorded. His voice is so expressive and his vocal delivery hypnotic and the music perfection. No one's like him!
A true legend. Mr. blue-eyed soul himself. Have you heard 'And It Stoned Me' yet?
From the opening line, he's got you hooked. Incredible voice, so many great songs written by this man.
Tupelo honey is produced when honeybees collect nectar from the blossoms of the white Ogeechee tupelo (Nyssa ogeche) tree. These trees are distributed along the borders of rivers, swamps, and ponds that are frequently inundated, mainly in the remote wetlands of Georgia and Florida.
Hello from the Suwannee River. Tupelo country
Van knows his honey! Tupelo honey is rare, produced from the nectar of the tupelo trees, mostly in the Florida panhandle. It is so good I'm almost addicted to it and I order it in bulk.
Sweet song, sweet reaction. Nothing better than having some Tupelo Honey IN THE GARDEN (In The Garden -one of Van's best songs IMHO) 🌺🌹🌼🌿☘️
Put Van Morrison on and everything seems alright. Give a listen to "Bright Side of the Road" for a little more upbeat Van. "And It Stoned Me" is another favorite!
Van Morrison has that distinctive voice, that delivers
such soul. Combined with poetic lyrics, he sets the mood,
evert time. He tells us a story that is as smooth as a fine
aged whiskey. Fine song all way round!
yawn ..boring ,lumbering song.........his voice is thin and nasally, ugly voice... 7:27 sounds like a cat dying.
Van is the man! With so many good songs. A few more to try: Have I Told You Lately, Someone Like you, Days Like This, Real Real Gone...I could just keep going forever on great Van songs.
This. I haven’t heard this song in decades and it all came back. A masterpiece.
Yep, he is thoroughly magnificent. "Days like this" is required. Much love from Australia 🇭🇲
Its funny, I was 5 in 1971 when this came out. When I first heard it, I thought Van Morrison was saying " She's as sweet as TWO BELOW honey" , and for a long time I wondered what was 2 below honey? Heck I didn't even know what was right below honey 🤣
This was one of the first songs I heard when I switched from AM pop to FM rock. This has a special place in my heart
She is.......Freedom...this song is about freedom
A great song ...So glad you enjoyed it...I seriously believe that Amber was born to be a hippie...I love to watch her get wrapped up in a song...I love you guys!!!
I love Van Morrison’s voice it’s so angelic soulful voices I have ever heard ❤❤❤❤
Another essential Van Morrison song, and my favorite is “Sweet Thing”. I would like to see you guys react to that one next, please.
The Van Morrison well is very deep. Try "Caravan" next for a great banger!
Oh, and "Have I Told You Lately" which was my wife and I's first dance at our wedding. Beautiful song as only Van can do.
This was my wedding dance song.
My number 1 Van song too. Blew me away the first time, when it came out, and still does all these years later.
Van always sings it like he's wrenching his soul of out every note. He's legendary in rock for being a grumpy bastard, but it all melts away when he sings.
This is why he's called Van the Man😎😎
This song and Into the Mystic are my favorite Van Morrison songs
They listened to it , John

😁
My favorite Van song along with Into the Mystic! Have y’all done Bright Side of the Road yet? If not, it would be a stellar next reaction! ✌️💜
If you want to hear one of the most awesome songs ever, listen to Van Morrison and Tom Jones sing Sometimes We Cry. It will touch your heart in deep places.
Another great Van duet is with the amazing Cliff Richard doing Whenever God Shines His Light. Van has an extremely spiritual side and often includes songs that reflect this. He did an entire album called Hymns To The Silence which will touch whether you are religious or not.
Check out his song, "These Are The Days."
@@griffcrammond6640 Great choice. I have so many favorites of his I could never pick just one.
Who else could pull off simultaneous solos of two guitars and a sax? What great backing.
Van the Man!!
Please do more Van Morrison!! my favorite and very underrated is " And I'll be your lover too". As well as "These are the days". Also right up there are "Astral weeks", "Someone like you", "Sweet thing", "And it stoned me", "Domino", "Brand new day" and "Steal my heart away".
Van has been my Jesus for the better part of 30 years. I love him. His music is everything. And this song.....THIS SONG. Welcome to the groove;)
Into The Mystic is another in a long list of gems from this master.
My favorite song by Van. So many good memories and some that are melancholy.
Love-love love this VM song, thanks so much for reacting to it and loving it, guys! I agree with others suggesting the wonderful “Days Like This” from him on your Van-discovery journey next!!
My all time favorite Van Morrison song. It melts like Tupelo Honey. Delicious.
One of his best❤️
Trivia: Supposedly honey made from nectar of the tupelo tree (i.e. tupelo honey) will never crystallize on the shelf. It is sweet and flowing forever.
Beautiful !!!! The "King" Elvis Presley was born in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Fun fact: Tupelo honey is a real kind of honey, with the distinction that it never crystallizes. (I think this is true of all tree-based honeys.) It is sometimes sold in long-necked bottles, which "normal" honey never could be, because normal honey goes solid. So she's not just sweet, she is always soft and flexible.
Tupelo is also the birthplace of Elvis.
What a beautiful analogy.
But the entire song is a euphemism for FREEDOM. Why can't you look at the lyrics and see that he (as most Scots and Irish) values Freedom as the sweetest thing on God's green Earth. Yes , Tupelo Honey is very sweet - but he song is not about Honey - rather it's about something AS sweet as Tupelo Honey! He uses the pronoun 'she' for Freedom, not Elvis' hometown. Men with insight, men in granite, men in armour intent on chivalry. He's singing about being on this road to Freedom, and how sweet it is.
One of his best! Now you should listen to Listen to the Lion and Almost Independence Day. Both songs are perfection.
Your hitting my favorites today ! Bread and Van The Man ! Come on. 😊 this song is just beautiful. Love it. ❤
I recommend you check out Van's incredible song "T.B. Sheets." It's a powerful and devastating song that takes place in a room where a young girl lies dying of tuberculosis and the overwhelming pain and guilt he feels while visiting her. Apparently, after the song was recorded, the rest of the session had to be cancelled because Van broke down in tears.
Incredibly disturbing song.
The Belfast Cowboy!!! Van the Man's been a favorite since the late 60's/early 70's for me. I grew up listening to him. The movie "Belfast" soundtrack is almost totally Van's songs. Sometimes, it was hard to keep from singing along during the movie. I was so pleased Kenneth Branagh chose his music.
i will never, ever, EVER tire of this song. it's so perfect and beautiful it brings tears to my eyes every time.
Van's music is always a trip into a zen state. Makes me grateful to be alive in the era of Van.
Try Moon Dance, the whole album is great. Love you guys. ❤
My King of mellow, love Van Morrison ❤️✌️😎🎶🎵
Van also plays a mean saxophone... so good. "The Best of Van Morrison" collection/CD is worth every penny.
Classic Song. Fun Fact: The Pedal Steel Guitar on "Tupelo Honey" was played by John McFee. John joined up with the Doobie Brothers in 1979. John is a talented multi instrumentalist - Guitar, Pedal Steel, Dobro, Banjo, Mandolin, Violin, Cello and harmonica and also sings backup / harmony vocals. All the good musicians play with other good musicians whenever they can. Keep Smiling - 🎸😎
Don't see anyone requesting "Moondance". By far one of Van Morrison's most iconic songs.
Sir Van is one of my favorite performing geniuses of all time, and this song is one of my favorites of all time. I love it. This man has so much soul. Every instrument you hear, Van Morrison can play. He is a true genius.
