JACK BENNY SHOW: 1955 12 18 The Edgar Bergens

- SCHEDULING NOTE: Weekday posts for April and May 2018 will be devoted to posting all available episodes of the Jack Benny TV Show that are NOT part of the syndication package of 100 filmed episodes. Most of these are live shows-- nearly always better than the filmed counterparts, even when the scripts were repeated nearly verbatim. There are also a good number of filmed episodes that have been circulating among collectors, but have never been rerun on TV. Some, certainly not all, have been widely available on UA-cam in varying degrees of quality. My goal here is to present ALL these videos in one organized place, with accurate program information and in the best video quality possible (I often had many versions to choose from, and often did significant a/v cleanup on shows that needed it.)

Jack Benny always makes me laugh!
Unique! clean good humour from a master of comedy
I never realized how much Candice Bergen looks like her mother until I saw this episode!
Candice really does look like her mother
Funny how the director was caught behind don wilson at the end of the show
Their daughter, Candice was 9 when this episode aired. They should have worked her in somewhere.
Candice is now 74!
Enrico Scortichini was played by the great Thurl Ravenscroft, voice of Tony the Tiger. Frances Bergen and Candice Bergen did look a lot alike. Better she looked like her beautiful, talented mother than her father! This show was remade later without the Christmas theme. Love the dark beige with gray straight cord Western Electric 500 phone.
Marvelous trivia. As Tony would say, They're Grrrreat!!!
Their daughter, Candice was 9 when thisxwaa filmed. It would have been nice to have seen her in this episode.
Candice (their daughter) qas born un 1846 which would have made her 11 when rhis episode aired. I wish they had featured her un rhua episode
I wonder who was in the Charlie McCarthy and Mortimer Snerd costumes?
According to TV historical it was Billy Barty
I wonder if that's Candi, dressed as Charlie. She was 9 at the time.
Very funny guy. But I always thought it was a little strange that it was called a 'Program' rather than a 'Show'.
There were sponsors and sponsoring a program has more of a ring to it.
