Mike, as a beginner here I am having a hard time following the melody on this lesson. I get about 5 or 6 measures in and just lose it. Any recommendations or suggestions would be very much appreciated.
I'd focus on playing just the right hand only forgetting the left hand completely. This will show you where you right hand picking still isn't confident or where you're losing the rhythm. Once you got that down add the left hand back. If you're still not hearing the melody I'd try singing the words in your head while playing. - Mike
@@MikeHeddingMusic Thanks Mike, I will give that a shot. I think you are on to something because I was spending so much attention on the slides and whatnot that the whole thing was falling apart. I appreciate it
+Henry Smolen I'm sorry it wasn't helpful for you. The videos are certainly meant to be rewound and you're not expected to learn it all in one time playing through the video. Obviously the term "beginner" is subjective but I'd say this arrangement falls within the beginner category.
if you love the song youľl make it work.. also i would suggest to use speed adjustment on youtube videos then just write it down on piece of paper and go based on that
Awesome MIke, Thanks a ton
Nice job Mike. Well put together. Thanks for posting.
I really appreciate your videos Mike. Good work
Thank you kindly. - Mike
Great video! I really found it helpful how you explained slides and hammer ons.
Thanks for the kind words! - Mike
Is there a way to print these tabs?
Sir, the 5 string banjo with 18 frets and the 5 string banjo with 22 frets, used the same chords or tabs?
Hello, I just bought this wonderful lesson. Is there anyway I could also get the backing track you used in the practice tracks, but minus the banjo?
+Saxophonelady Sure. Can you private message me your e-mail address where you'd like them sent? Thanks! - Mike

You move way too fast and don't explain well enough for a really beginner banjo player like me. I couldn't figure out what to do fast enough
