Been a viewer of yours for ages (wayyy back when you were CammehYaBams), but haven't popped by in a while. Was handed a copy of the Communist Manifesto by my brother this morning and thought of you. These videos couldn't have come at a better time! Looks like I have some catching up to do. Thanks, Cam
**Darth vader voice** That name no longer has any meaning to me. Honestly, my absolutely earliest videos were cringe. But happy to have you as a viewer of my newer stuff.
@@ElectricUnicycleCrew Hahah! Even so, that just indicates how much you've grown as a creator and evolved as a person since then. Do you still play piano/keyboard?
This has been a good overview of Marx's account of capitalist production in Vol. I. Nice to see people promoting Marx's economic analysis. I do have to say that I find it interesting that you pronounce ʹ as "dash." My instinct would be to pronounce it as "prime," since Marx was attempting an algebraic or geometric expression with M-C-Mʹ. Not a criticism, just an observation.
RE the slavery part, I make the distinction between chattel slavery (private property laws applying to people) and the slavery we have now, where you can pick which capitalist you want to exploit you to make it less obvious that it's still fundamentally slavery.
Wow! This is the first video of your's I've seen in a while. Either my feed isn't updating (thanks youtube) or I missed it. Either way more content from you is always welcome.
@@ElectricUnicycleCrew Just a thing about this video, and I may be wrong, but I think the "general formula for capital" is pronounced M-C-M (prime), for the apostrophe there. That might be for other fields of science, rather than economics in particular, but due to the fetishism of scientism in regards to "the dismal science", I'm willing to gamble it isn't.
@@billhicks8 Harvey says 'delta'. I say 'dash' just to make it easier - so long as the same meaning is communicated I don't see the issue. But thanks for flagging this up.
Cameron please consider a debate with Vaush on the 3 different ideas 1. Don't vote no matter what 2. Bernie or Bust 3. Vote blue no matter who I'm asking because i consider him to be the most popular anarchist at this time (who can defend his ideas properly even under intense pressure)
Advanced or invested, this really doesn't matter if the words mean the same thing. My intention is to make clear the language that Marx employs so that you understand what he means when he uses certain words. This is to avoid misinterpretation. Also, no need to strawman Marx on overall growth. If you bothered to read him, you would see that his point is that an increase in, say, overall absolute living standards is entirely compatible with a *relatively* worsening situation on the part of the working class. Do you understand what is meant by a relatively worsening situation?
Thanks again Cameron. These last two have already been INVALUABLE.
Love your content. Really helps out understanding.
Keep going my friend!

Buying in order to get money back you say is called Advanced.
Normal people call it Investment.
It's how the economy grows and everyone gets richer.

Ha ha ha, what a story Marx.
