Fantano you didn't have to talk about whether you're a coke or pepsi kinda guy for 11 minutes when deep down we all know you're just a pizza boy.
that feeling when anthony gives your favorite band a good review after some bad ones is really satisfying
@@saucyp123 lol it took me like 2 weeks to get your "thanks a million" hahaha nice one!
If it was "Vegan Pizza Boy" you would've given this album a 10
"I'll have a Coke,
I'll have a Pepsi now,
You are afraid,
That you're a melon, boy"
I didn’t really like it after your first review. Now that you’ve done this Redux review, I’m absolutely loving it! Thanks Tony
Wow the album was so good he dropped the review twice. Thanks Anthony!
I'd definitely agree that this is their best since Get To Heaven. Feels more open, honest and weirdly optimistic than the past couple of albums too.
He reviewed this album twice and gave it a 7 both times, basically saying this album is a 14/10
Thanks melon.
this album is seriously amazing. if you're the kind of person to ignore an album fantano rates below an 8, please don't. give this a shot. if it's the kind of thing you will like, it will hit HARD.
I mean, 6s and 7s are positive reviews lol. 5s are mediocre and 4s/below are negative.
I enjoy a fair share of records that Fantano has given 2s and below to. Sleigh Bells' Treats (IMO THE hyperpop prototype from back in 2010) is a prime example of this. Childish Gambino's Camp is another. A more recent very good album (IMO a decent-to-strong 7 because of some filler-ish elements in the middle of the track list) that got a NOT GOOD for, ahem, not good reasons, is Dreamland by Glass Animals. It's All So Incredibly Loud, Tokyo Drifting, Tangerine, Space Ghost, Deja Vu, Heat Waves (even if overplayed to death), all fantastic indie synth and trap-pop tracks.
So yes, I'm not the kind that treats Fantano as an all-knowing god of music criticism, at least most of the time.
You gave Raw Data Feel by Everything Everything a 7 but gave Raw Data Feel by Everything Everything a 7???
Funny, Jon actually said that “Why don’t you listen to your momma? She’s old.” Isn’t actually a generated lyric
Fun fact: they named themselves Everything Everything after the first 2 lines in Radioheads 'Everything in it's right place'
I do not know if this is true, nor will I check, but if it is true, it is indeed a very fun fact.
@@kristapsvalainis1671 absolutely true, remember listening to an interview they did on Radio 1 and they confirmed it :)
so I actually read an AMA they did, and they said it wasn't the reason at the time but they came to embrace it after the fact
It’s actually because they liked the word everything but didn’t think that could be a band name
Could be from the "everything everything" in the chorus of Depeche Mode's Everyrhing Counts..
Guys this is going to sound crazy but I totally knew what score he was going to give this album!
@@elyy0345 he accidentally edited in a 24 minute long monologue where he professed his love for trump and wished he was back in office.
I can't believe you, melon. Giving this album a 7/10 when it literally changed my life forever? What kind of sick maniac would dare? Subscribed
you uploaded this again and didn’t bother to change your score to an 8? how dare you.
Yooo William I love your videos so happy you're a fan of Everything Everything!!
What really separates RDF from the last two records is that the band is back to making bangers much like they were on Get To Heaven. That's what held those records back and lets this one flourish.
An album so good, Anthony had to review it twice
Those singles will grow on you, too... I was also feeling cold towards most but "Jennifer" and now I've just spent a day on-and-off bumping "Pizza Boy".
Raw Data feel is absolutely Everything Everything's best work, it really feels like they found the sounds that worked best for them and made an absolute banger. Fever Dream and its follow up were okay but very hit or miss and a lot darker, so coming back with a fun banger of an album with every song being great on a full listen every time is wonderful. Just an overall feel good album and a solid 9-10/10 in my book
"The man just lets out notes like a... passionate... siren" is the best way to describe it and i hate that i was not the first to think of it haha.
Leviathan one of the best tracks they’ve ever made. Derivative my arse!
Yeah I think that was the one part of the review that didn’t sit with me. That and the scoring
reuploading this with extra comments is a chad move. good job fantano! hope more people will check them out, they're definitely one of a kind when it comes to the weirder side of pop and this album is one of the finest examples of that
The Metroland in the song was an actual place: it was a small theme park inside a shopping centre in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, a city in the North East of England. Metroland is no longer there, having been replaced years ago by shops and a food court - the closest remainder is the generic arcade tucked in a corner of the centre - but it feels weird for a place I remember fondly as a child (and genuinely sometimes miss) to turn up a song like this.
These guys are so frequent. Their last album review from melon feels like yesterday!
Ah wait...
Software Greatman is the best album closer i've ever heard imo. An existential beauty that feels like it's been launched into the void of space as a gift to the Universe
Damn the album was such a grower that melon has already done a REDUX review and given it a 14/10, thank you o wise and wonderful Melon.
*_Already looking forward to his third review of that album_* 😜
I knew it was worth a REDUX review already!
Tried Everything Everything and I am obsessed. After listening to their previous albums, Raw Data Feel feels like an improvement in every way. I'm obsessed. Thanks for the articulate review.
this album is getting better and better every time I listen to it
always find something you didn't hear the last time through
I wonder if Anthony ever comes back to this album. It's a grower for sure. The call and response chorus on Cut UP! is so good. The beat on Bad Friday. The transition from bridge into chorus (gets better the louder it is) on I Want A Love Like This. The snare timing on Metroland is Burning. The spacy synth interlude in Kevin's Car. The lyrics and performances and production are all so special!
I didn't love it at first, but at this point I prefer it over Get To Heaven tbh
I actually enjoyed RE-ANIMATOR but I’d say this is the best since Get to Heaven for sure. Possibly could have saved some tracks for a bonus edition (like Arc/GTH), but still a lot of fun.
The lead singer voice was shocking in a great way. Nice
software greatman ended up becoming a favourite. its interesting i didnt fall in love with most these songs until after a few listens... im glad kevin was mentionned too haha (i think Higgs said in a Q&A that kevin was the name they gave their AI...) also I think Alex the guitarist produced the album which is neat. I love EE and have been a fan since 2010. I think this album would be about 8/10 for me too, GTH still my fav. have you reviewed any of the Wombat's albums? check em out. cheers...
One of the best albums of the year (so far). Thank god you gave this a decent score
said it under the first review and I'll say it again: EE INTERVIEW ON THE FANTANO CHANNEL WHEN
Thank goodness you’re more relevant than pitchfork nowadays
Can't wait for the third revision of this review melon.
*The Caretaker - 'Everything At The End Of Time' starts playing*
Why are you reviewing the 2017 movie Everything Everything again Anthony Fantano?
Time to watch this review a second time so I make sure I’ve heard Everything Everything Melon said.
Re-animator deserves more
loving this new review from rethony postano!!!!
I'm glad you noted your mistake and put a bandaid on this review. After all, you can't spell "bandaid" without A.I.!
An album so nice he had to review it twice!
I just know FOR SURE this album is gonna make it to the Melon's top albums for 2022...
Love the album. I feel like it’s a little too obtuse with the lyrics and themes sometimes, trying to get my head around the narrative is a challenge, but it’s a fun challenge.
It’s hard to know which lines are important and which are just “glitches”
Teletype opening reminds me of Born Under Punches by Talking Heads and I love Leviathan!
Thanks for giving a review & the love it deserves! I went to the album launch show & it was 3/4 sold for a small venue - they deserve a lot more!
Born too late to see the first upload
Born too early to see the third
Born just in time to see the reupload
I love listening to people talk about Metroland Is Burning without having a clue what Metroland is/was.
this album its pretty good one of the best of this year
idk why I've been watching every review lately but I've really been enjoying it
Honestly this the best thing ive heard from a cohesive band in like 20 years since like artic monkeys, mcr, fallout boy days of rock, theres this thing i think of a lot about how death grips was the only good band in the 10s, maybe CSHR or like some metalcore bands like BMTH but still euh... This album kind of makes me feel like the 20s might be a better place for bands because EE is kind of taking sound from, flume, tame impala, and 1D and giving it 100 times more meaning, its a new GOAT for me, melly
This is probably the best modern band going, besides Between the Buried and Me.
Just in terms of how prolific and accomplished they are as musicians. These guys are tremendous!
@@icelandicbanks6473 just Alaska and Colors alone have always made them a top teir band though, do you like The Voidz?
Real ones remember the og upload 😮💨👌
I forgor
Funny, the first 3 songs hit me the hardest at first and the rest grew on me. Like a cabbage. Great record for sure.
I Want A Love Like This is a fantastic track, great dance-pop sound but with more edge and glitch in the synthetic instrumentation complimented with some organic sounds too, a nice contrast. as well as the dramatic lyrics
get to heaven is my favorite album of all time, so i only have high hopes when i start listening to this!
Def feel the album really takes off from 'Leviathan' onwards
Everything Everything Review Review
You know you have a good album when simplicity is shown on the pallete but there's much deeper flavours when properly listened to
Kevin’s Car is so underrated.
Jennifer is an absolutely beautiful song
Glad you talked more about the AI on this new one!
It would mean a lot to me if you'd consider reviewing the new Wilco album "Cruel Country". I think it's a very poignant album/ therapeutic and it's the only album they've released in the last decade (since the Whole Love) that has really hit home for me. For instance in the song "Ambulance" Jeff Tweedy is way out there emotionally, dealing with his own addiction issues and mortality, and I really think the album has a lot of these insightful and warm human moments that make it worth a closer look.
Everything everything are my favourite British band!! I remember coming home from school and listening to my kyz ur boyfriend and it blew me away, I’ve been obsessed ever since. I don’t want to bring the tone down though but the vinyl for the latest album one side is definitely completely out of tune, plays really weird
Great review.
The thing in the raw data feel album cover looks like that one machine from cloudy with a chance of meatballs
Real ones already saw the first upload last night😎
Hello, Mr. Fantano. I would really love to get your opinion on last two Hippie Sabotage's albums: Red Moon Rising and Floating Palace. If you've got the time of course.
I always hesitate showing folks my favorite band, EE, because I know Higgs voice. Not everyone’s cup!
Its almost like I've already watched this video
Anthony! What have you done with my father!? Why does he look like a carving?
really love this album! Nice review.
Review the new static dress
Bad Friday is like the only song I don't remember from the album
I think it’s their best yet. I’m not picky with lyrics though. I’m more into the music and the vocal melody. Great review though, I’m in agreement on the faults.
Bro can you please review “Party On // Hari Om” by Plant Sounds?
Meteor has to be one of their best songs. So beautiful.
Hmm so this is Everything Everything Everything Everything
Reviewed it again and gave it a 10 YES
So good he reviewed it twice
Anthony, you just can’t reupload the video and act like we didn’t notice. We all saw you originally give this album a 10.
I'm so happy that they're back making a good album. As much as I enjoyed the first 3-4 songs of A Fever Dream, everything else after that and the next album is just mostly flat stuff. Been listening to this 5-6 times already and I'm loving it. The second half is definitely slower but it's still quite pleasant sonically so I don't mind it too much.
good album so Wow melon twice review, Anthony!
Appreciate the amendment in the re upload but RIP to the Raymond edit
Would have been a 10 if it was called Kids See Ghosts
why the reupload?
Every Melon Everywhere All At 7/10’s
Reup-thony
Load-tano here
Empress of - "Dance for you"
I want Anthony Fantano to do a Review of Static Dress - Rouge Carpet Disaster. PLEASE. YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.
This album is so damn good!
Wait a minute….didn’t you review this yesterday melon.????
I just love this Album!❤️
Hey, I reuploaded this one with some additional comments on the way AI generated lyrics were worked into the album's creative process. In retrospect, it was an element of the record I should have mentioned so those thoughts are added here now. :-)
Thanks for watching!
thanks for the AI generated explanation
Thanks Melon, very cool!
If you don't pin this comment then everyone will watch it a second time to try and spot the differences. 😉
Cool, you’re just like Kanye West!
Спасибо, Антоха, за качество!
