Honestly, the music didn't seem to loud or distracting to me. I think it was a good addition.
I've thought about getting this one, but it just seems really small compared to the 35XXH. I do like the controls since I'm interested in anything SNES on down. My only worry is it just being to small in my hands. I mean, I'm not a giant but I think it's the next step up from their mini.

It's pretty cramped. Fine for like 20 min gaming sessions but not if you want to sit and play comfortably for 30+ mins. The rh35xx plus, h or sp are good options.
