I found my dad in this footage he was captured at Anzio bridge and was sent to stalag 4b he never really spoke much about it and wrote down events and regiments he was in , a 2page document I’ll always hold dear, but wow actually seeing this footage at the camp and finding him well amazing there are no words thank you
My great grandfather was in a clip too, got sent to Stalag II-B. Isn't it insane how much we can find with the internet? And yet people for some reason want to erase, erase memories and erase victories. People need to learn, you can not change the past. Whatever happend, happend so remember the mistakes made, and learn from them instead of burying them. God bless those Russian soldiers who liberated my great grandfather and God bless then men who liberated your father 🖤
My great grandfather is in that group, I've been searching for YEARS of videos including him in it and I finally found one, now I can take a screenshot and frame it with his trophies and medals. Thank you AP for posting this, thank you so much. ❤
My grandfather George Douglas Lee, he spent 5 yrs in Stalag VB, and also he was a POW in Italy prior to this after being captured in N/Africa, he was in the LF's
Karl Calito heroes every last one of them, my grandad was kept as a pow in ww2 but he would never speak of it, he took everything that happened, all he seen and heard to his grave with him! I wish I knew what regiment etc he was and could find out more about what he went through, what I do know is that he was Irish so technically didn't have to serve but he did that makes him even more of a hero in my eyes xx
geordielassie, you are right, everyone of them were hero's. If you would like to know what these brave men really went through look up a book titled 'The Last Escape' by John Nichol and Tony Rennell. It tells the blunt truth of the horrors these men went through,
