Wow! The fireplace is amazing. It made the whole room come alive. Love the color. Beautiful decor as always. It has finally warmed up here. Around Easter it turned winter again. After Easter we went straight to summer. From 40’s to 80’s. I love it. Have started to decorate my porches and love it. Have a great weekend my friend.

Im so totally with you, Becca. I absolutely love the greens, whites, and taupes. But, this spring/ summer, you talked me into adding soft pinks for my living room. Now, you changed it. Lol. Thats ok. Oh Becca, I just loved this video! I adore your white home, absolutely love it and it is the furthest from looking sterile in my mind as it can be. The decorator touches you add are homey and welcoming so it just speaks fresh, clean, sunshiny summer day to me. One the gray doors and board and batten (my emojis are gone on my laptop!!! or I would have a love face) I have been really deeply wanting to paint our white mantle at our cottage and I had thought about black but I just am gobsmacked over the gray! I so regretted us not doing gray cabinets in our kitchen, they cost extra and we were on the tightest budget but we put grey vanities in and I love them so much. I had also thought about building above our fireplace with some trim and I think I am convinced because yours looks stunning. We have it at our other home but those are staying white. I have a white blanket ladder in one corner of my living room. I love it, and the other corner, I have 2 small white corner shelves on the wall, and underneath, I just purchased a beautiful basket, with a tall faux fern plant in it. It turned out great! Corners can be difficult.

Love your design as always. I agree white can be sterile if no accessories are added but you always throw in that pop of color that makes it cozy not sterile at all. Fireplace looks great love the green again that pop of color. So when you buy from etsy you said you upload to a store so how do you do that do you have to contact the store to get some kind of email address and etsy sends to that address then you go in and tell them what size you want printed out? I have to admit I am not to savvy on the tech side I leave that for the young ones. Have a great weekend I am looking forward to spring after this long winter.

I just happen to be reading a book from Country Living titled Shades of White and thought of you! I was shocked that you painted the fireplace. Did not expect that. It looks great though! Was expecting maybe a basket or such in front of it instead of a new paint color!

They are dark brown and I'd like to paint them white. How would you begin painting that kind of surface and what kind of paint do you feel would be best? Thank you!
Hi Sharon! Thank you so much! I would first lightly sand your bookcases ... wipe down with Krud Kutter and then add a thin coat or two of BONDING primer (not regular primer). Then lightly sand with a 220 ... and paint.
