To construct a square equal in area to the rectangle ABCD 60 × 40
1. Construct the rectangle ABCD 60 × 40
2. Extend the baseline AB
3. use radius BC at Centre B and drawing an arc to cut AB extended at E
4. bisect AE and draw the semi-circle on AE
5. Extend BC to cut the semi-circle at F. BF is one side of the square
6. use the dimension of BF to draw/ complete the square BHGF

7. Measure and state the length of one side of the square = 49mm
