Great video! 👍 just to clarify, I have an Electrolux machine, if I set the main wash temp to 60C and use the prewash setting, will the prewash water temp be cold or up to 40C?
Correct. If you want to use a pod during pre-wash, you'd have to use more detergent during the main cycle. If possible, I'd go gentle on the detergent during the main wash though, since there may be residue left from the pod in the pre-wash during the main cycle. If that's not possible, check that all the detergent is washed out afterwards, and run an extra rinse cycle if there still is detergent residue left on your clothes.
Both wash 2 and prewash 1 on my samsung go straight into the drum. (they pour out, no dam in the tray) I cant use liquid detergent for main 2 wash if I want to use both 1 and 2. Which is kind of annoying. This video helped me realize it, so thank you.
I have a question about detergent, if for my laundry the needed portion is 70ml, should I divide it to phase I and II or should I add 70 ml to phase 2 and something extra to phase I ? Thank you!
Hello. I have a question about the prewash. So basically the best and ideal thing to do is if the clothes arent soiled and just need a wash, it is suggested to skip prewash all together and just wait for the main cycle because if you put your detergent and fabric softener in the prewash it basically isnt getting the job done like it should? If so, then when you don't use the prewash, the clothes are just getting nice and wet before the main cycle? I did read your mail and I really appreciate the valuable information on where the stuff goes properly in the washer and I will be able to better understand where I am putting the stuff. It was very informative and was very much appreciated.
Yes essentially. But you should only put detergent in the prewash - never fabric softener. If you want to use fabric softener, it needs to go in its allocated slot in the tray. The prewash cycle won't be activated unless you turn it on at the control panel for the washer. But if you turn it on and don't add any detergent in the prewash slot, then it will just use water to prewash, yes. I am glad the email was helpful! It was fun to explore industrial washers a little more :) I may do a video on how to use the washing machine control panel this week. I have a lot of free time in August, so I plan to make a lot of videos
@@Organizing-TV I understand. With the type of washers I use at the laundromat, the pre wash cycle is fixed every time you go to wash. It doesn’t turn off unfortunately as that would have cut down on time.
Thank you for explaining this i have for years used a toploader washing machine however my last one just died she had workedhard for me for 10yrs a lil beauty but i have purchased a Hisense front loader today oooomyyygod ...so many things to know but my main problem was how much poweder do i put in the main chamber andhow much of what do i put in the prewash would i use napisan in prewash...again how much or my washing powder aswell as also using washing powder in the main chamber 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🙃🙃🙃🙃help 🤞🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Hi! I do brazilian jiu jitsu, so i get very sweaty and the kimono is thick and my clothes dont smell great as soon as i sweat again…. Usually i dont do prewash cycle… So i wanna try … Can i put vinegar to prewash, small amount detergent to main wash and softener to softener compartment? I tried vinegar as main wash, and as softener but i felt it wasnt enough so i wanna try vinegar as prewash
That sounds like a great idea. If that doesn't work you could also try soaking the kimono in a basin with some vinegar before washing. Just make sure you rinse it before adding it to the washer
I know that for me, I am waiting for a washer that I won’t be going to the laundromat for and the slides you showed us with a small bit of pre wash and detergent is nail biting for me 😊 because all I remember years ago my father telling me that a small little bit lasts but when the clothes came out it was anything but good, but this is something as you say for us to adjust to see what works for us. The only thing I haven’t quite understood was there is maybe 4 slots for soaps where I have gone to the laundromat, but in some models, I have seen where we are suppose to put soap in the back (not the front located on top of the unit) but it stays there for a long time instead of going down into the machine quickly or slowly so I didn’t get the point of it and never had the patience to see in what cycle it goes down but I know for at least 10 minutes it is still there. I hope I am explaining well, UA-cam had where we could upload photos to explain etc, then they took that away so I hope I am clear.
Are they proper industrial machines? Some newer models have an extra slot that is quite big where you can put detergent and it disperses it as needed depending on the product, but I can't see that being the case for laundromat machines.
It's an extra cycle before the "main" washing cycle. You can use it to soak your clothes extra, or you can add laundry product to remove stains, or to whiten the clothes for example :)
This was a brilliant video, very clear and succinct. But omg PLEASE don’t use fabric softener on your towels! It gets stuck in the towel fibres and makes towels hard and crunchy! Try it once without softener and just see the difference.
I'm sorry to say this after such a good video, but, fabric softener is in the middle. Wash on left. Pre-wash on right. And it's "usually" standard on all machines.

I was just wondering yesterday what pre-wash does. Lol. Thank you for the video.
Haha it's funny how that happens sometimes on UA-cam 😂 Glad the video was helpful

Does after the pre wash, water drains? Or the same water is used for the normal wash?
It drains :)

Add it all to phase 2 :) Phase 1 is if you want to use something extra while you have pre-wash turned on.
Hello. If i add detergent powder to prewash, does that means i have to activate the prewash button?
Generally yes. Some laundromats auto active it, but if you have a button on your machine at home, you'll have to turn it on every time
