I made one about three years ago and it has been great. I did not put in irrigation tubing and I wish I had. Otherwise, everything grows like crazy. As for the tea that supposedly comes out of the bottom, I have never opened the plug underneath. I have not seen any reason to.
Don’t do this. It was a huge waste of effort. I ended up putting it out for the trash. Once it’s full, it’s impossible to move and the soil at the bottom gets so compacted nothing will grow. I enjoyed making it but again, never again.
Daikon radish really helps stir up the bottom. Just make sure the holes are big enough. I wonder if you could use a tulip drill to pull things out of the bottom.
Not trying to sound negative, but I think your going to regret putting those big bell peppers in that. My bell pepper plants get pretty big, as tall as your drum height and width. I’ll would be interested in seeing a follow up video when they are at full growth. Good luck though, I hope it does work out for you.
Was trying to decide where to plant certain veggies in my garden tower like yours. This video helped! Thanks for posting.
Where is the video showing how you built this?
Do you have a video on how you made the barrel?
I build them for $200

Great idea!I will try it out with hanging tomatoes in a wheelie bin and I can move them into the sunny spots👍
#thx4share! LOOKS GREAT! Smart to lift it! I put melon in mine.. I told myself I could trim it.. lol
How about a 2019 update?
I made 2 of these before and they are very good.
Why is this pipe added in between the drum
The pipe is drilled out so worms can get into it.. he puts compost in it. He has a clean out at the bottom if need he can open it
Tomatoes, green peppers, lettuce, basil, cilantro, arugula
Like watching & learning more. Please B louder can't hardly hear you 😁
He is gonna have some super hot bell peppers, since they are all planted together!

Thanks for the honesty. I was thinking in making one.
