I'm really glad you have done this video, i was considering one of these, but had nothing to go by for the Meriva B. Thanks so much! Nice detailed video too
Thought about installing it in my Meriva, but decided not to do so. For now, at least. For many reasons, actually. 1. Steering wheel buttons issues. They're selling it as a HU for Meriva, but don't have button mapping of Meriva. Nice. 2. To my taste, screen is too tall. It's placed high and doesn't look organic in it's place. Wish that BMW-like wide displays were available, but they're not. 3. Have to change Navi 600 buttons panel to CD300/400 in order for it to work properly (it only supports one type of them) 4. Screen is too distanced to be conveniently used as touchscreen. 5. All the electronics are in the screen module, which is the hottest place of car's interior in summer. Not sure about absence of throttling/performance issues. Not easy to do cable routing. 6. Speaking about routing, I have a GPS antenna on top of the car (as car came with Navi 600), but I still have to use the one which comes with the unit, don't I? The same thing with the microphone for making calls. Why? 7. Dull UI/UX of these unit is a matter of taste, you can use Android Auto exclusively (but why do you ever need that 64G/4G/8cores then?), but I don't like it. So, I'll stick to my original HU, I guess. I enabled rear view camera, turned that "linear output"/"infinity audio system" option, installed Match UP7 DSP amp, Morel Tempo Ultra midbass speakers to front doors, Alpine S-S65 to rear doors and CDT Audio HD2 midtweeters in place or original tweeters, Hiby W3 as BT audio source connected via AUX, set it all up and I can say that sound is soooo much better than it was. But yeah, I still have to use phone on a holder for navigation, which is not cool.
For the benefit of those who have to install the unit in question, I can suggest passing the large original connector of the car through an opening between the central tunnel and the back of the main instrumentation (speedometer and rev counter), clearly dismantling the aforementioned instrumentation fixed to the dashboard through two screws. From there there is another opening to pass the large connector through. Well yes, the cable in question is long enough to reach behind the radio in the center of the dashboard. This avoids having to lengthen the wires that are part of the connector. It works I assure you.

The steering wheel controls do not work for me at all... Thank you
Hi, super videos, this and the other with the settings! I managed to get the original radio cable with the big plug up to the display. Without that I had to extend wires! But, this is a hard job and you need a lot of patience in addition to very small hands. The microphone and a USB cable I put under the original radio and heater buttons in this small indentation, just below. There are openings large enough to route the cables without having to cut anything out. Nevertheless, they are easily accessible there. Laying the camera cable and the supply for it was another challenge, especially in the trunk lid. All the best, the device is otherwise top.
@@baconbuttties We mounted the camera inside on top of the trunk lid trim. This was not my idea, but it is fantastic. A little difficult to run the cables inside the frame, but it works, even through this rubber tube between the trunk lid and the body. We took the power supply for the camera from the tail light. The glass is so dark tinted, you can hardly see them from the outside. However, the whole package is only one day in use. I'm already curious how well it holds up.

Good evening A few days ago I wrote you the following request on your email with an explanatory photo attached. Would you be so kind as to answer me. Thank you: I disturb you for a clarification about the connection of the original cables of the car and the adapter supplied separately with the car radio. What I can not understand is how you connected the black and white cable that is part of the cable and that on one side with the white cable enters the canbus and the black one enters the main adapter that connects with the standard one of the car. Apparently its connection is essential otherwise its existence is not understood. As you can see from the picture, the black connector that incorporates the black and white wire has the perfect shape to connect with the original cable of the car that connects to the control panel or with another cable always original of the car that was originally connected to the monitor in the center of the dashboard. Unfortunately, in neither case do I get positive results. I add, again for logic, that if this additional cable I connect it to the original cable of the control panel in any case the latter can not be simultaneously connected to the original cable of the car and therefore can not be used. Perhaps my explanation was a bit articulate and confusing but I hope I have made myself understood. You're a smart guy. Maybe your interface cable was missing this black and white appendage? I provide you with the photo of the cable highlighting the extra cable (what you see is a test cable but completely identical to the one installed in the car). Thank you for your patience but it drives me crazy.
@@baconbuttties Good morning I connected everything as you suggested but the result is always the same: the original stereo control board doesn't work. Can I ask you one strange questions? I recently bought a meriva B (here its an opel) and the aux connector is missing. I went into the hole with a scope to see of the cable is there but I couldnt find it. I dont think it was never there so there must be a cable somewhere id say.
Are you able to tell me where the cable for the aux module next to the 12 volt cigarette lighter is connected too? Id say it would go from the aux module directly to the radio but in your video i cant quite see.
Anyway, great video ^^
I think the aux cable goes back to the big main stereo connector block

Hi, super videos, this and the other with the settings!
I managed to get the original radio cable with the big plug up to the display. Without that I had to extend wires!
But, this is a hard job and you need a lot of patience in addition to very small hands.
The microphone and a USB cable I put under the original radio and heater buttons in this small indentation, just below. There are openings large enough to route the cables without having to cut anything out. Nevertheless, they are easily accessible there.
Laying the camera cable and the supply for it was another challenge, especially in the trunk lid.
All the best, the device is otherwise top.
I haven't done the rear camera as it does look like a hassle.

Good evening
A few days ago I wrote you the following request on your email with an explanatory photo attached. Would you be so kind as to answer me. Thank you:
I disturb you for a clarification about the connection of the original cables of the car and the adapter supplied separately with the car radio.
My black white cable connector was plugged into the original display connection
@@baconbuttties Good morning
I connected everything as you suggested but the result is always the same: the original stereo control board doesn't work.
