    I am finding the same thing, APC 40mkII only has the one direct sends rotary before you have to menu dive with the Sends and number button. I am picking up DS1 next month. Was thinking about getting a decent audio interface and running a few bits of hardware effects also

      The DS1 is much better for my particular setup than the mkII. I wish it had endless encoders with LEDs displaying values like the APC40 & mkII instead of potentiometers and those white backlighting LEDs that make it difficult as hell to see where the indicator is positioned under stage lighting.
      Hybrid of digital and analog is where it's at my friend! Best of luck!

    Hi man where can I get the multitracks steams? I can't find them...

    Great stuff and thanks much for the walk-thru on how you have things routed. Very helpful. Did you give up on the Mackie Mixer in your setup?
    I want to do some old school sounding dub and picked up Allen and Heath GL2400 for a great price. I use Cubase, and my uses are strictly studio work. Thanks.

    nice work man how you find the new mk2? you still use any hardware effects or all software for your sets? cheers :)

      +Michael Talbot I actually just got rid of it! I really like the build on the new mk2 - it's light, more compact than the OG apc40 (could fit in my backpack which was really nice for traveling for gigs), the lights look really nice, and all the control buttons, knobs, & faders feel great. But the deal-breaker issue I had with it was that it's essentially like dubbing on a lot of modern digital FOH consoles - only 1 knob per channel that you have to page through banks with. On the mk2 the way to do that is to hold the sends button and then press the track # button of the aux send you want to control - that takes 2 hands. I just found that process way too cumbersome for my style of dubbing as I often need to have access to an aux send knob at the same time I'm throwing faders. I've since moved on to trying out the Livid DS1 which I'm liking so far outside of a glitch I'm having that I'm hoping is a just a rare factory error and I've also picked up another OG APC40 - still lots of love for that unit!

      are you loving the DS1? still thinking of finding a second hand one... its crazy that there is no midi controller out there with rotarys on the chanel strip for more than one aux send ... extra ones for EQ would be freakin amazing also!

    Where do you get the individual tracks? Do you make them?

  • @jarneth

    Hey man,
    How do you make sure everything is in time while playing?
    Do you warp every track?

    • @DubArchitect
      @DubArchitect  8 років тому +1

      Not sure why there would be a need to warp anything. Typically the original recording engineer is going to make sure that everything he sends is on time since what you hear on an album is usually on time.. right? Sometimes I get really rough files and have to sync them myself but everything is still typically on beat even if it's not to a click
