In rugby, we’re taught to tackle low and, if necessary, drop to the legs. This man is starting high, and going up to the head.

Every tackle a red card. Swinging arms, leading with shoulder, aiming for the head. His power and ferocity and speed were impressive. But the number of cheap shots, particularly on scrum halves or wingers, is unbelievable.
Worst thing about the Ashton one was that Manu never even reached out or apologised after the game. Says all you need to know about the fella.

As a rugby player I've always loved big hits. That being said I've also had serious concussion and it has the potential to be life changing, alot of the 'tackles' in the video are a disgrace

I don't watch rugby but it seems like they need a fisticuffs rule like the NHL. It keeps players from making dirty hits because they know they'll have to fight the other teams enforcer, who's sole purpose is to fight.

The fascinating thing is, that just because a player was tackled by a Tuilagi doesnt mean it was illegal. No I am not condoning the obviously late, straight stiff arm to the neck or the punches but towards the end the tackles were clearly below the shoulders and were therefore legal. And of course, samoans are not known for the gentleness on the field. So what do you expect

That's why you never saw shit like this in the old days, unlike League where forward play is more open. Filthy players got sorted out by the opposition forwards in the next ruck real quick.
