The thing with the Gajalaka doodles is that you only need one if you've already befriended the gajalacka's. You can find them on expeditions and they're more common on expeditions ware the Linguistics researcher is present. I think it's for the best that you befriend them first that way it shortens the amount of time you spent hare doodle hunting.
It's also a good idea to keep your eye on the Puki's HP bar the blue HKG meter beneath it's portrait. The closer the bar is to flat lining the weaker Puki is. Keep in mind if Puki enrages it will falsely display his HP as full and the bar will flash between yellow and blue only revealing it's true state of distress when tagged by an attack so if your not certain hit it with a life powder to keep it alive. I don't know it can enrage but it's best to mention it as a trailing note rather than not.

Love how Capcom tried to make the gameplay as close as they could to TW3's gameplay with the SFX, dialogue options, and quest UI n stuff.
At first i thought this would be a simple add on with just the character and his voice . But they ve added soundtracks , quest design and other stuff . Thats really cool . A one in a generation game for sure
I just wish his sword had a unique sheathing animation. Instead he still sheathes it as if he has a sword and shield :(
I mean, CDPR did have a hand in this particular quest. From the writing, story to the dialogue. You'll notice it right away, the moment you start the quest, that THIS was not Capcom's writing. (To which writing was not really their forte)
Capcom let them have the DLC as authentic and as close to the witcher games as possible.

@@kaindmd8827 one problem, MH and Resident Evil had completely different storyboard. Like I said, story writing wasn't Capcom's strong suit. They always favor gameplay over story in recent years.

Imagine, in thw witcher game itself after you complete this special assignment, the pukei-pukei accidentally goes in one of the leshen's portal, after that you get a new contract to find a "strange beast" and slay it, after which you travel along and eventually find the pukei-pukei, both geralt and that pukei remember eachother and the pukei ends up becoming your partner.

A Witcher wouldn’t even be able to swing a great sword without throwing out their back or use the charge blade without overloading their body. But I would love to see our main hunter visit the Witcher world. It would be great to see how we would interact with magic.

Geralt would love this world. Most of the books are him being conflicted as to whether or not he should fight and kill these monsters because they're going extinct. But in this case, there's way too many, and a lot of money can be made. Geralt was built for this world.
Idk if he'll be able to take on the elder dragons tho. Closest thing to that in his world is the entire wild hunt.

Geralt’s always struggled with dealing with moral problems, no moral problem with killing a big dragon that’s only concern is territory and food.

Not really, from the books the Kingdoms of the north and the Empire of the south have very different economic structures. For instance think of it like the dollar system between the USA and Canada, they both use a form of dollar but the USA dollar is worth a lot more than the Canadian dollar. They’d probably just see whatever gold Geralt brings back as a counterfeiting coin.

The dollar, basically pieces of paper given value only because a government says it has, is not the same. It's called fiat money and is not backed by any precious metals, gold or otherwise.

I have this theory about why Geralt is making a cameo in a bunch of games, and it has to do with Andrzej Sapkowski (The Author of the Witcher books) trying to sue CD Projekt Red because he sold the rights to the Witcher to them for a couple thousand because he didn't think a game would sell well. I think as an "F you" to him, they are just putting his character everywhere. Just a theory though.
Our hunter sounds like a god holding off literally every monster in the forest so the don't get in the way like damn did they just put him in the arena with like 50 of every kinda

Saving Pukie-Pukie in this gameplay puts a really warms my heart especially the ending scene where Pukie-Pukie and this furry cat thanked Geralt for saving the island but Imagine having Rathalos or Great jagras teaming up with Geralt? That'll be cool

It would make since if they added a Monster flute or Stone that has a low chance of dropping when ever you CAPTURE a monster. then you can equip it as a permanent item but the item vanishes if the monster ever gets killed. and only 1 monster can be summoned at a time so until it dies no other monsters can be summoned. unless you complete the mission

*Gajalaka side quest:* They're more likely to help you (you must have meowlotov cocktail unlocked)
*Pukei Pukei side quest:* Keep Pukei Pukei alive while defeating Leshen. You'll receive 1 atk Jewel (Note: not repeatable, you'll receive a worn jewel thereafter).

The Pukei-Pukei's smile and his little Felyne friend's joy is reward enough for me.
I feel that this quest, as good as it is (except for the frustrating timer and the difficulty of keeping the Pukei-Pukei alive), represents a missed opportunity in MHW overall.
The fact that you can rescue a Pukei-Pukei, leading it to befriend you, is pretty heartwarming, along with the fact that this particular Pukei-Pukei is friends with the Bugtrapper Grimalkynes as shown in the last cutscene (while usually Pukei-Pukeis are pretty aggressive Monsters). This is the kind of stuff that would've made MHW even more awesome: some quests where you have to save Monsters as a change from all these quests where you must hunt them (which, lore-wise, is necessary or else the Guild wouldn't have made it a quest, but still), whether you kill them or capture them.
Lore-wise, the Hunter's Guild is very far from being a bunch of poachers or people who like hunting for sports (that is the player's choice in their actions in non-canon expeditions or quest retrys), but they're rather actually regulators and protectors of the very fragile balance of the ecosystem at large. In that respect, again, it would've been very nice if the devs gave us this kind of monster rescue side quests like they did for this Witcher crossover quest.
I for one was excited to learn from a friend that I'd get the opportunity to have my character save a Pukei-Pukei from another Monster, only to be disappointed to find out that this quest doesn't make you play as your own character with Geralt as an ally NPC, but instead forces you to play as Geralt while your own character is sidelined.
And yes, I do know about Monster Hunter Stories: but I think it is possible to have this kind of nice scenes between hunter and monster without having to turn monsters into freaking Pokémon-like companions. Manifestations of peaceful coexistence that the Hunter's Guild has always fought to preserve in the MH games do not have to lead to domestication. That is not what I'm saying.
And if you're about to answer something like "this is Monster HUNTER, what did you expect, go play Animal Crossing you snowflake lol", please reread my comment.
This video to me really pins down the fact that they aren’t actually monsters. To me a monster is any malicious creature who only kills for sport and innocents who wouldn’t grave them gain anything
@@gavinbunting7354 Exactly: they're called "monsters" to highlight the fact that they're formidable dragon-like creatures with high destructive potential, but regardless of their power, whether they're Elder Dragons or not, what they basically are is giant animals. All parts of an ecosystem that humans (who are far from being on top of the food chain) strive to protect through the Hunters Guild.

But when it comes to preserving balance in the ecosystem, it is sometimes unfortunately necessary, especially Elder Dragons (who are extremely powerful) when they go out of their own territories and can unfortunately mess up nature and the climate elsewhere by their only presence if not neutralized. I for one ALWAYS try not to kill when I play Monster Hunter World. Glad I'm not the only one!
@@aexe1542 I don’t play monster hunter. Deviljho is one of the few I consider a true monster. It will never stop eating because of its endless hunger, and it will wipe everything out unless it goes extinct

Actually in the case of soul Calibur 6 that was soul edge's fault because one of it's astral fissures linked up with his universe my guess is after finishing what he did in soul Calibur 6 he accidentally fell into monster hunter
@@jacobweatherford4696 In story thing, he took a contract to deal with a witch. That witch had been back and forth between the Witcher world and the Soul Caliber world. She teleported Geralt after telling him about this. He does use a soul fissure, but that's at the end of his story.

Pukei is legit one of my favorite monsters because of how derpy he looks and the idea of him nigarundayo all the time is funny. I dont even kill them and just capture. My first iceborne quest for pukei rewarded me with 2 fey gems on my first try so I love pukei.

So weird to see Geralt running like he have something between his legs, jump from one rope to other like Tarzan, survive the fall and prone through plants/trees.

It must be soo strange for Geralt to come to a new world where no one fears him and everyone accepts him. I hope this turns out to be canon cause what he says in the end, that the hunter and geralt will meet again. Imagine a Gore magala going to the witcher's world and geralt calling onto the hunter for help, everyone in the witcher world shocked at the size of the weapons and armors. Though they may be more shocked at the food sizes.
For noobs like me who took like 10 tries because I was struggling to keep Pukei alive I would suggest staying as far away from Pukei as possible during the fight and making the Leshen attack you, the biggest problem I found was Pukei taking major collateral damage as the Leshen was attacking me because it was too close. Grab the 3 EZ Lifepowders when from the camp, you probably won't need more than 6. Save your Igni for the Jagras because they die in one hit to it and will target the Pukei Pukei, and besides that just do everything you can to break the Leshen's head

It’s like how the Hunters of Monster Hunter are physically superior to Geralt, but they would stand no chance against a magical opponent, which our boi Geralt is a specialist in defeating

I've never played Monster Hunter but I play Witcher 3 and after watching this video makes me want to buy Monster Hunter.
Lol in my case I played As Geralt in Mhw and I got my gaming pc this march then played all wicther games (currently playing witcher 3)
If you do word of advice get iceborne with it it is worth it.

@@Tom-bn6pr, well, this is coming from someone who has never delved into either of these games, but what makes it weird to me is a badass old dude teaming up with a random bunch of what look like JRPG characters, and another old man. It was both interesting and a bit jarring. I've only ever played The Witcher 2, so my knowledge in either of these is extremely limited.

I prefer leshen tho because there are enough beast type monsters already so that make leshen the first human like monster.

Its actually pretty humorous how Witcher-looking my Hunter looked like when this came out.
So my Hunter original had Fuschia colored hair and Orange eyes and no scars. However for a Halloween season in World i had him dress up as Dante from DMC so i turned his hair stark white like Dante and Geralt's and never got around to changing it back. And as a sorta character development/personal progress tracker, i had put scars on his face for every major milestone in the game (1 for beating Zorah Magdaros and going to high rank, and 1 for beating Nergigante and Xeno'jiiva.) So my character had apparently undergone the Trial of the Grasses and became a Witcher by the time this collab came around
When the " Do you want to help Geralt?" Prompt comes up, there should be a 3rd option saying " Do you even have to ask?"
I don't know how you got all that done in 50 minutes. I skipped all the side quests ignored the conversations and managed to fight that stupid Leshan for the duration and lose due to time out. And I thought I was doing ok, the shit wouldn't die.
