To be continued 🤔 don’t tell me Ange is some insane guitar player and is about to play get jinxed by ear upon first listen…
🤭
@@Raphael-yy3me also recommending the last one. Done without public, but contains some more arcane footage.
@@Raphael-yy3me second this
@@CarlieAndAnge There is also a VI sone called here comes vi no cinematic though.
In case you don't know, Get Jinxed was animated by the same studio who did Arcane (Studio Fortiche), and it was their first collaboration with Riot, so you can see how their style changed in 8 years.
@@SubtleAmbition You could say that it was because of Get Jinxed that Riot saw the possibility of a future with Fortiche's work. It had elements that Riot wanted which of course developed into the series we love today
Also, riot went nuts with the budget for arcane.
I did wonder about who did the Get Jinxed art vs the Arcane art. The one thing that is so unique to them is despite their absolute mastery of 3D cg, they do basically all of the effects in 2D art. I haven't seen such a perfect balance between 3D and 2D from any other studio.
@@lok4890 season 2 budget gonna be nuttier
@@lok4890 And they're reaping all the benefits. They totally deserve every dime earned in Arcane
Vi's childhood nickname for Powder is "PowPow." Jinx names her gattling gun Pow-Pow. Her rocket launcher is named Fishbones. She talks to her guns because they are her friends.
Ekko: I had a crush, ‘til you talk to the guns.
The grenades are also called Chompers~
idk why but that is just so sweet
And fishbones which she made for Silco is the voice of reason. He seriously advise' her to invest in a house and to keep herself safe. It's sad after Arcane. 😔
@@unseenw0lf647 silco also loved the creatures in the toxic water and spoke about how he likes that they have adapted to live in their environment, in one of the episodes you can see a shark in the window underwater part of his base, this is also a reference to jinxs fishbones having a shark face
Fun fact in the game when Ekko interacts with Jinx he sometimes says "I had a crush, until you started talking to the gun." Implying he had a crush on Powder before she became Jinx
In the card game ekko says to jinx
"Man, I miss you so much"
And
"Powder, I... nevermind...
@@TheQuancy D':
wow........you just had to break my heart dont ya.
Pretty much SAD fact for me.
@@TheQuancy That’s sound so sad..
Get Jinxed Jinx: Haha she's so wacky and carefree.
Arcane Jinx: Oh my god, someone please give her a hug and some therapy!
Haha so true!
Yeah lol she's ~CRAZY~ uwu... and then the writers are like oh yeah? You wanna see how a person becomes like that? Do you? Alright you asked for it....
@@rileyjones6957 Yet another thing I appreciated about Arcane: they showed what it would really take for someone to end up as crazy and broken as Jinx.
And it wasn't pretty or funny.
Wacky and care free is an interesting way to describe female Joker. She is a murdering psychopath who kills people to kill time. Arcane definitely fleshed her out way better putting reason and tragedy to her madness so she isn‘t just a one dimensional murder machine.
@@CarlieAndAnge ...what?
I really love how none of the scenes in the Enemy music video are recycled from the show, it's all original supplemental animation
Completely agree. Any extra Arcane content is most certainly welcome 😅
@@CarlieAndAnge In that case, you guys really should watch the Worlds(Shorthand for League of Legends World Championship), 2021 opening show. It had a lot of Arcane related footage and marketing you have not seen yet ;).
There's also other cinematics from the game that feature characters from Arcane, but aren't part of the "Arcane Cinematic Universe" so to speak;
To mention some, these are:
"Ekko: Seconds",
"Warriors" - The 2020 cinematic, not the 2014 one.
"You really got me: Wild Rift Trailer"
"Welcome Aboard | Odyssey"
Jinx named all of her weapons.
Zapper is her gun, Pow-Pow her minigun, Fishbones her bazooka and then her grenades are called chompers. But yes, she named her minigun after her younger-self. She also gave personalities to her weapons, and Pow-Pow is the most destructive one, while Fishbones, ironically enough, is like her voice of reason. The demon and the angel on her shoulder ;) It is heavily speculated that Fishbones is a tribute to Silco, hence why it has a rational personality, almost like a parental figure.
I like the theory fan that Fishbones is Silco parental figure on her shoulder and Pow-pow is her disociation to her younger self because it was Powder last act shooting Silco with her minigun to protect Vi so in the MV Get Jinx when she say "let's blow the city to ashes and see what pow-pow think" She is directly nagging at herself when she was still inocent.
Also remember that Silco had a tank full of big fishes or sharks, he often said that he liked that kind of creatures/monsters. Fishbones isn't a shark for no reason, it's a gift
@@Trods911
Also when she starts talking as “fish bones” she gives her rocket launcher a deep male voice I’d imagine it to be Silco and Pow pow she just uses her regular voice
Jinx was listening to Get Jinxed when silco was looking for her as a little easter egg to the league fans
There are like >10 cinematics you should watch to get a little overview about all Runeterra. I think you both will like the lore a lot!
Interesting and natural reactions as always, keep up the good work!
Silco interrupted right before the “right now I’m feeling ignored” part too
When she turns round and says "That's Me!" with a beaming smile, when Silco is shouting over her own song. Brilliant inclusion for League fans.
Another easter egg is that she fulfills Mylo's wish from episode 1. Check out 7:28 and remember what Mylo and Claggor were talking about on the beginning of episode 1 when they saw the airship.
We’ll try watch all the cinematics!
@@sirartronson4086 Haha, nice catch :D
As a league fan, arcane is defo written and fleshed out better than the actual league lore, gave jinx more depth and even loved her arcane costume (same goes for vi and specially for cait)
I absolutely agree with this! Just from season 1, I think we can already tell that they are going to take Jinx's character in a different direction. Arcane went to incredible lengths to tell us a story about her that we didn't really know was possible. Based on the immense amount of depth in her character, and the amount of things that have already been changed and retconned for the sake of Arcane. Also her outfit in Arcane is just perfect, changing it from the 2012 pretty outdated version was the best choice.
The outfits are definitely a big change they actually cover there bodies now
Exactly, they didn't change it, they improved it. Which is the way movies and series based on games should be.
My favourite comment on Cait's in-game outfit is that she looks like the porn parody of her own design, and after I read that I just cannot see it in any other way. I'm so glad they redesigned her kit for Arcane.
@@DarkRaven4649 exactly she looks like rule 34 or at least her designed to appeal to the people that like that shit people who have never interacted with women in there life
The Enemy music video really sets up Powder/Jinx's mental state early on. Even at a young age you can see how she feels like everyone is against her and everyone is her "enemy" Even Vi when she yells at her. The abandonment issues hit hard.
Yeah definitely, loved seeing her history with ekko!
@@CookiesCatbug Yeah... BPD can be a real nightmare, and I really appreciate how well it is portrayed with Powder. Anyone who is familiar with it or even struggle with it can relate to her and immediately recognize all her symptoms.
@@CookiesCatbug I mean her severe overreaction to Vi not letting her go and save Vander kinda shows that she already wasn't in a great mental state even before the "Hextech Event"
@@TheArrowedKnee Yeah a lot of people claim they felt that was out of the blue. I think that scene of her freaking out was implying she had deeper issues even before this. That it wasn't just Vi leaving that caused this, but her past abandonment issues that were coming back BECAUSE Vi wasn't there, not explicitly because she left. Like someone else said before, Vi stifled those feelings, but they have been there for a long time.
@@TheArrowedKnee That was the part I was talking about, I never mentioned no hextech event? O_o
Her minigun is named "Pow-Pow", shock pistol "Zapper", explosive grenades called "Flame Chompers" and her rocket launcher "Fishbones" (weapon designed for Silco).
In arcane she didn't have the shock pistol , just a normal one and instead of "flame chompers" for the grenades she named each grenade (we saw in the first 2 episodes) possible she stopped naming them when she became Jink :-?
For League fans, hearing Vi call Jinx pow-pow in arcane was a thrilling Easter egg knowing that it was what she named her gun.
Omg, I'm excited to see this new Jink character
She stopped making new ones because she began hating the monkey bombs, and kept the chompers for the utility. In arcane her weapons and táctics are trap oriented, but in the Game all her kit is based around hit-and-run tactics. We may ser this come about as she now doesnt have to work with anyone and just strike fast and get out
this weapon was not designed for silco the child jinx had already designed this weapon before meeting silco!
there is a specisl card for jinx in LOR ..and says she named every bullet.. she didnt stop naming them..
We’ll be reacting to all the other cinematic trailers and music videos for anyone asking! 😊
Thx!
When the time comes to react to K/DA please please please dont skip the Baddest... So many reactors overlook it cause it doesnt have the "traditional" videoclip, but definetely is worth your time!
You should react to K/DA and the cinematic trailers or wild rift. Jinx is extremely happy I’m so I think it’ll fill up that hole from the last episode 🥲
Neat!
react to warrior 2020 luegue of legend pls
“Get jinxed” song was played by jinx in Ep4 when Silco gets in cause she killed enforcers and take gemstone. The enemy and imagine dragon were shown in the last of ep5, before the first fight of Vi and Sevika
Get Jinxed was released when Jinx was introduced into the game. It was a big deal back then! And the song slaps hard. Djerv did an amazing job with the music and Agnete has a crazy voice. Vi also has a song in the game. It's called "Here comes Vi" and I think some of the lyrics are pretty amusing after watching Arcane.
We’ll have to give it a listen!
Get Jinxed was also playing on that phonograph in Arcane when Silco was yelling over it to get her attention and she pointedly ignores him as teenagers do haha.
Get Jinxed was the "first" real video Riot made too. After the success it got, they started doing WAY more of them !
As a league fan, when Riot announced Arcane, we were definitely hyped up in the sense they finally kept their promise for a movie/series. However, they had no obligation to make it a masterpiece, we would’ve been satisfied with a mediocre plot just for the fan service. But holy smokes did Riot revolutionized the gaming industry with a masterpiece of video game series/movie adaptation, previous studios failed to make a high-quality piece of media. I commend Riot for that, we didn’t deserve such an outstanding animated series.
It wouldve been so incredible for all the League players!
The part where Powder was lip-syncing the "everybody wants to be my enemy" just straight up made my jaw dropped.
It looks so real, I can't believe it's not mo-cap. Animation at its finest. 👍👍
The animation is next level
And jinx lip-syncing "spare the sympathy" before switching color eyes
@@caosneo yow! Good catch! Didn't notice that until now.
Arcane is basically Jinx's origin story, the "Get Jinxed" music video is basically what Jinx becomes later. You can sorta tell she looks a bit older in the music video. We'll probably see her scarier and unhinged side more in later seasons of Arcane as she gets closer to this.
Her Minigun is called “Pow-pow” and her shark weapon is called “Fishbones”. In the game she has a few sentences where she’s talking to Fishbones so that’s pretty cool now thinking about it maybe she is talking to Silco haha
Yeah we hope Silco’s voice actor returns as Fishbones next season!
@@CarlieAndAnge I can see it already
Jinx: fishbones! what do we do now?
Silco voice: you need to lead the nation of zaun, so our people can be finaly free!
Jinx: can I just blow up that building over there?
Silco voice: allright, but make sure to wear protective gear. Don´t want you to get hurt
fishbone is also the voice of reason so in arcane season 2 we might hear fishbone have vanders voice.
About them "saving so much from Get Jinx": that's basically because it's them who created character and all lore and videos in the first place, create a series. And that applies and shows in all other aspects of Arcane.
Jinx main for years, Arcane made me cry. Also, Get Jinxed was in Arcane (Jinx was rocking out to it when working in her shop). Pow Pow is her minigun, and Sharkbones is her rocket launcher.
The band shows up in Episode 5 "Everyone Wants to Be My Enemy". You should also check out the LOL World opening ceremony video that has a few of the songs performed by the artists in a filmed Arcane setting with other extras and actors taking place of the Underground. It's pretty cool. It also has some more Vi and Jinx in new animations.
We’ll check it out! Thanks
Get jins, is the same studio who made ARCaNe. And back in 2013 RIOt fell in love with this studio called Fortiche. And made so many more like KDA
It was great!
8:50 I have been with the game since it started, before Jinx was released. I have watched all the music videos and champion releases, I can say, I GOT EMOTIONAL SEEING IT! And that they put that music playing in one of the episodes too, just so much fan service for those that know. That is why this show is the BEST!
💯
You should watch " Fiddlesticks Terror in Demacia" and "The Call" ^^
We will! 😊
When "Get Jinxed" came out:
Jinx = Harley Quinn
After "Arcane" came out:
Jinx = Joaquín Phoenix's Joker
As someone who has been playing the game for a long time now, Arcane indeed was an insane Series and even exceeded most of my expectations. The happenings of Arcane are also based on the Law designed for the Characters ingame, so it was insane seeing this becoming alive.
Yes, being a League fan since 2010 and watching Arcane. SOO MUCH HYPEE. But I love watching from your perspective of someone who was not a fan of League but became an Arcane fan and watching all of the League videos now. Awesome videos!
They changed jinx' personality and character quite a bit. When Jinx was first created she was creates as more of an archetype (Jinx: the Loose Cannon); her character became that and so much more after being fleshed out in Arcane.
they add depth but the "surface"/present/destination still the same.
arcane came in production at same time that they began rework the lore from the scratch so we could assume that arcane is the new zaun/piltover lore, this was kinda frozen and far behind for a long time, acording with the time during the latest developments of the lore(ruination) vi/cait/jinx should be above the 50 years.
Maybe theyre building to that version of jinx. Maybe in season 2
@@CarlieAndAnge that would be cool. Maybe they start outside of piltover, like in Noxus, and have new characters come to Piltover that overlaps with the events with s1. I feel like tying Noxus in on episodes 8, and 9 sort of hinted at them expanding the world past piltovers borders.
My other theory is that Mel is going to be outed as a mage, and is going to protect the council with magic. In the final moments of the finale, she turns to the window before the missle strikes. She also has been very pro magic since the beginning of the series, and she is from Noxus, where mages aren't reviled.
ohyes....I remember not being soo impressed when she first came out...just another Harley rip offI thought...well I eat my words now :D
Jinx has two main weapons in the game:
(1) the minigun, which she named Pow-Pow as homage to Vi's childhood nickname for her, and (2) the rocket launcher she named Fishbones, designed as a shark rocket with one of its eyes red as homage to Silco and his love for deep sea creatures. Jinx could have made Fishbones based on the monsters she and Vi used to imagine when they were kids but chose the fish design and red eye as a gift for Silco.
Also, her ult in game is the giant rocket with sharp teeth and a smiling face, and this rocket could fly across the entire map and deal huge damage. her ult is literally called 'Super Mega Death Rocket' and you can just imagine the hype when she first fired it in Arcane.
Basically her two weapons represent the two people she loves most, and in game, you constantly have to choose between which weapon to use depending on the situation and what point in the game you're in (': It's such good symbolism.
Also a bonus, Jinx's blue cloud tattoos probably represent the blue flare Vi gave her. the one that Vi promised to find her no matter what if she lights it up.
Omgggggg I just finish watching your arcane's reaction, I didnt expect you really went to the world of league of legends wow thats why im such a fan of yours
10:48 It can be interpreted in some ways. For example "think what pa(ow)pa(ow) thinks" = Surrogate Father Silco that she basically dedicated the chaos to, or "think what PowPow thinks" = Her Gatling Gun which basically carries over her real name Powder.
Basically all her weaponry have a certain personality to them from various dead people. Like Fishbone(Rocket Launcher) being Silco, her Gatling Gun being her old self. The chompers (grenades) and Zapper (Hextech Pistol) still kinda are to be figured out.
But her design is always animal based and I think the chompers are based on Vander (AKA Warwick who also got depicted as a wolf kind of beast inside her doodle mind) and his death in the explosion. Milo and Claggor already had those dolls she used as their representation.
The hextech pistol (not the normal one she used) though could be a new trauma with the Hexcore events happening in season one of Arcane and making a reminder of it to herself.
Enemy is so good, they didn't just use clips from the show from Arcane. It has its own dedicated animation, and they even animated the band. Riot's going the extra mile. Such quality 👌😆
I’ve been a huge fan of jinx ever since she released in the game, has always been one of if not my favorite characters (mained her in league from release until around the end of season 6, even was the top jinx in NA for a few patches at one point). Because of jinx, and the fact that I just generally like steampunk aesthetics, piltover has also been my favorite region of runeterra. So when arcane was announced and came out I was beyond excited. Glad to see people who were introduced through the show go back and watch some of the stuff that riot put a ton of work into when she was released, and get this much enjoyment out of it! Really brings me back to when I originally saw this video with her teaser.
It's so fun watching you guys, seeing League content after starting with Arcane, cuz I'm one of the folks coming from the other side. Jinx was introduced to us just as a crazy girl with guns, and Arcane showed me where she came from and now I feel so much more for her. Love that Arcane has brought so many people in to seeing more of their amazing music and video content :)
Yeah it definitely wouldve been so different people seeing jinx in league prior to arcane!
It's the start of going down the League rabbit hole. You are gonna love it!
Oohhhh yes. Plenty of content planned!
@@CarlieAndAnge I'm a casual League player btw, if you get any doubt I'll be happy to clarify it 😃
Thanks for letting us know what you think about those videos!
Personally, I believe they got they didn't show a lot of Ekko and Powder's relationship during the series, and they added it in the music video. Also, I believe they had just a base story about Jinx when it was her in-game debut, because we didn't know the details about how she became Jinx, even being players (in fact, we didn't even know Vi was her real sister. It was teased in dialogues, but we had 0 confirmation about her being a blood sister until now). Fortunately, they were able to explore and shape it in Arcane!
As for her weapons, I do think (after the information they gave us in Arcane) like everyone here in the comments say, her 'Pow-Pow' minigun took the place of her past self and 'Fishbones', the shark-themed weapon, took the place of Silco. All of this meaning this is a way she has to deal with/remember that part/past of hers, even if both weapons were probably just weapons with a flashy name, a way to showcase she is kinda crazy, in the beginning. They found an inner meaning during Arcane. Now, their names have a reason. She also talks to them a lot, which was very funny first... and now is kinda haunting and sad.
I would like to add, that even if Powder is shown having an artistic heart early in the series and people can say she maybe designed the shark due to her artsy imagination and not Silco, I really do think she did as a gift for him (and a way to support her Jinx side and how much she thanks Silco for accepting her). There are way too many hints towards that, and even Silco is shown related to sea monsters in several shots. It's the representation of his freedom dream and his total representation when he's no longer there physically. As for Pow-Pow, I believe it has to do with it being the weapon of that last dinner she had with everyone. It was the gun that ''chose'' Vi and killed Silco, even if it was instinctively. Powder's "last stand" in favor of her blood family, therefore the one taking the name.
One very final word about this (comment is so long already!), in-game canon may differ a bit. Writers said the story was shaped for it to work better on-screen, meaning that if you find some divergences concerning game material, that's kinda normal. Actually, the plan might even be to shape lore like the MCU or the sort, having different timelines that work at the same time. Who knows, time will only tell.
Great reaction! Can't wait to find out which other video you will pick to watch!
Thanks so much!
Oh so some of what we saw in the show was brand new for the League players? Interesting. I guess they do need to add things for the flow of the show. Makes sense. Thanks for the comment!
Being a jinx main since she came out, Arcane was the greatest thing ever. Also this song was playing in episode 4 when jinx stole the stone and had the music blaring while Silco was yelling at her.
when they do the close up of jinx and powder that looks kind of like a mug shot, I love the small detail of how their shadows aren't their own but instead embody the opposite version. 4:34
I just want to mention something I noticed: The " Get Jinxed" video open with the words "bombs and bullets" if you look at the Tea Party scene in Ep 9 of Arcane on the Power side you the pastels and nicknacks on the table, however on the Jinx chair side you see Bombs and Bullets on the table which is a throwback to the scene in Ep: 4 where she's listening to "Get Jinxed" with those same words being sung
Get Jinxed was in Arcane too. It's the song Jinx was listening and dancing to while working in her room in ep 4 before Silco comes in to reprimand her.
You have no idea how amazing it was for me to watch Arcane. You see, I started playing League of legends back in 2013 and fell in love with Jinx ever since I first saw her in that same video, Get Jinxed I mean, I even have a friend who I told so many times "I want Jinx", that he ended teling me "for God's sake, marry her and that's it!", so it was really incredible to rediscover Jinx (and fall for her again xD) and all her sides and I can't wait to see Arcane 2 xD.
Additionally, in Arcane they made a lot of references to the Lore from the game and also to "Get jinxed", as examples, when Jinx is in the workshop, you can hear that she herself is listening to the theme of Get Jinxed, in addition, at her back, you can see the carousel which she herself painted on the wall, resembling the one in the music video, also, in another scene, you can see under a bed, the painted rinhoceros and in other scene, even the mech horses from the carousel, both scenes in the first act.
Also, I wanted to tell you that the current Jinx is a super deppened version of the original Jinx from the music video.
I really like that they used this song (jinx) in arcane when she's tinkering in her shop in one of the scenes, when she can't hear silas
Yeah ive been playing league since around 2010 so about 12 years now and as a league fan for a while seeing them come ou t with a show was honestly emotional. When i played the game it didnt look the best but i LOVED it and me and my friends always wished they came out with a show and when they did we went nuts.
When we saw league characters in a cinematic, we were awestruck. When we saw them in a show, it felt like coming home.
I absolutely love the visual of the circle of enforcers falling to the ground from what appears to be a shockwave coming from Jinx doing her signature pistol gesture but changing to Powder before they hit the ground.
Just hammers home the idea of Jinx being there to protect Powder.
Another great video with Jinx is the "Welcome Aboard - Odyssey" trailer thats about an alternate universe Jinx where shes a space bounty hunter with a couple other characters. Although it doesnt have a video, the song "Here Comes Vi" is pretty sweet, and the "Warriors - Season 2020" video has a few more Arcane characters in it for ya.
6:00
This clip was made aftar the release of Jinx. They played it at the client before you entered on your account. I remember I liked the song so bad that i used to take a long time before actually logging in.
They play this song on Arcane. When Jinx was working alone at her workplace. The old fans loved to hear it on the series.
Vi's releasing song is also sick. Search it. There is no clip, just the song.
7:44 Just in case u missed it. It says “Nerf Heimerdinger” on the wall
I'm a LOL fan (2009 and going) and Arcane was so much more than I expected for sure.
There are so many cinematics and they are soooo fucking good, I can really recommend warrior and awaken, but they have no straight connection to arcane. Arcane related you should watch Warwick, the hound of the underground, it's gonna be really important in Season 2
We’ll be reacting to all of them!
@@CarlieAndAnge im really looking forward to your reaction : D
dont forget "the call" :D the animation is incredible
Awaken was the first cinematic that got me interested in anything Runeterra (and the first music I bought from Riot)
Warrior cemented that interest...and got me addicted to 2WEI lol, so watching the newest one, The Call, was absolutely amazing.
I'd love to see the reactions to Fiddlesticks 😆
@@muserj sshhhh don't let them know 😆😆😆
So I'm completely new to LoL lore, but after watching Arcane I've been looking for ANYTHING related to these characters to fill the void lol..
And I just noticed the scene at 7:30 with Jinx riding the hot air balloon, she said, "one day I'm gunna ride one of those," at the start of Episode 1 of Arcane... the show ties in so many cool details it's insane
💯
"Let's blow this city to ashes, and see what Pow-pow thinks..."
In the lore, that's what she call her mini-gun. But the line has a whole new meaning once you realize that Pow-Pow was also Jinx's childhood nickname.
Get Jinxed is what first sucked me into League back when it came out. Her concept, her attitude, her design, it was just like "okay whatever this is I NEED to play as this character." Still my favorite to play, just crazy chaotic fun. All these years later, getting this masterpiece of a show diving deep into her story is just 👌 Too good to be true!
And yes, the Fishbones and Super-Mega-Death Rocket reveal at the end hit HARD. It's so simple but every "omg that's the thing i know" moment just like speaks to monkey brain lmao, adds a little kick to stuff that's already cool on its own. And Ekko doesn't even HAVE his signature gadgets from the game yet, god I'm gonna lose it come season 2....
Oh pls pls pls react to the Cinematic “Warriors”2020, “Got me going” and “Welcome aboard” Jinx and a few other characters from Arcane are featured
All of them will be reacted to, dont worry!
When that Get Jinxed song came out, Jinx was already my favorite champion to play on LOL. She's still one of my faves even though she's been nerfed a couple times since debut. But the songggg omg I still love the song. I remember playing it on repeat a TON. I still need to try cosplaying her one day.
I think you know by now but I'll say it anyway. Fortiche Studio, the french animation studio who made "Get Jinxed" were later ordered the Arcane show, so that's why the two match so well
7:25 girl called that an elephant lmaoo
Ah yes, welcome to the post Arcane VOID the rest of us are in! That's what helped me find your channel in the first place XD There are a ton of cinematics related to the game a lot of people are watching just to find some sort of intake for more LoL stuff. Don't forget that in depth analysis of Jinx and Silco from that therapist, it's very good. And yeah do they ever do amazing jobs with those music videos? They have a couple online if you look up the animation studio Fortiche that did the animation and they're all fantastic! The KDA "pop/stars" one is the same animation with different characters and it's super cool. Anyway, welcome to the desert that is the time period "after arcane." Forget BC or AD this is now AA for ALL of us hehe. Love what you guys do! Keep it up :D
Thanks so much! We cant wait to take a deep dive into the LoL world 😍
As Amanda (one of the Arcane writers) said, they will explore their relationship in the future season. Since Ekko has crush on her their ship name is called Timebomb. Many writers and even the creator of jinx and ekko loves it. I am very excited to see more of them.
Also, we finally got the confirmation I was waiting for. The lead Fortiche animator (Alexis Wanneroy) said that Jinx was the hardest to animate and they NEVER wanted her to look like Harley Quinn and they're trying to avoid it as much as possible.
We didnt really make that connection to harley quinn until someone pointed it out. So they avoided it quite well 😊
jinx and vi are designed in a way that they are exact opposites. Short pink hair vs long blue hair / melee fighter vs long range fighter / long and covering clothes vs short and revealing ones (though that was altered to fit better in arcane obviously).
Oh wow! Never picked that up. So true. Thanks for pointing that out 😊
remember in episode 1 when they climbed to the top of the roof at the very beginning, before the heist, and a blimp flew overhead? Jinx said "one of these days ill ride on one of those" and mylo said "and ill shoot it down", we see her riding on a blimp in Get JInxed :D
Pow-pow is her minigun. Fishbones is her bazooka.
excited for more League reactions from you guys.
I find it really cool they created a whole animation just for a music video. Also none from the TV series, so this wouldve taken a while to make.
Fell in love with jinx the 1st time she came out in LoL.
and ever since then she was my main to play in the game it was magic her character and I was just meant to be.
It was episode 5, literally called everybody wants to be my enemy great episode tbh probably my most favorite because we get to see jinx get reborn and vi is looking for her and liking Caitlyn along the way plus an amazing fight scene with vi and sevika
Jinx’s character design is something special. She named her mini-gun, Pow-Pow, a nickname Vi used for her when she was young. She had blue smoke tattoos, same color as the smoke from the flare gun Vi gave her. Vi really did make Jinx, and Powder survived because of it.
💯
Literally a League player and Jinx is my favorite character in the game. Arcane was sooo much fun. Loved it
Great reaction as always. Although I love get jinxed, it's still hard to get powder of my brain now when watching it. By the way: did you get where all the bombs are aiming at? And here comes a complaint: How dare you coming up with a cliffhanger after going nuts for the arcane cliffhangers! 😂😂😂
They've really adopted Arcane's cliffhang style....probably a coping mechanism lol
🤣🤣
I've been playing League since like 07...08 and as a superfan every video an cinematic has blown me away. An Arcane was Amazing...
enemy is such a great reaction ^.^ big hype!~
If u didn’t realize the reason Jinx puts her monkey with symbols in the beginning and through out the music video the monkey keeps banging the symbols is because Jinx can’t sleep with no noice and that’s why she woke up after the monkey stopped
thanks for the video! I'd like to recomand a very good channel where a therapist explain a lot about what is happening in Arcane's characters mind. Her name is Georgia Dow and she did a bunch of videos that shows how well this show was built. As an animator it's cool to see someone that points so many tiny details they putted in the show. I hope you'll enjoy it, maybe in a video, maybe not. I just think you'll like it anyway. Take care guys ! (I hope my english isn't too bad haha)
Your english is great! We’ll check her out. Thanks 😊
Also in the Get Jinxed video we can see 7:29 that she just shot one of this airships, might be later referenced in Arcane when Powder says "One day I'm gonna ride one of this" and Mylo says "and one day I'm gonna shut one of them down!". Making even more sense since Jinx in Arcane is still heavy influenced by Mylo "spectrum".
I'm on of the day-1 Jinx fan, own much of the merchandising she has (specially the statue) and Arcane was the best present I could ever have. Theres 156 champions in LoL and they decide to do a TV Show of her! Also as you said they respected everything we previously knew about her so much that I totally fell in love with Arcane (watched it over 20 times now).
Nice video btw!!!
20 times?! We dont blame you. Its incredible
@Carlie & Ange :
Pow-Pow originally is Jinx's mini gun. We only assumed before that it was named pow pow because of the sound it makes. And she named all her guns and would talk to her guns like she would talk to Milo's and Claggor's toys, and treat them as living things that talk to her back. She even has an in game catch phrase in the game saying "I should get a bigger gun, but don't tell my other guns!" or something like that.
So it can simply be a "I wonder what my gun would think about shooting people and causing mayhem, heh.".
Arcane went ahead and added an easter egg of Vi calling Powder Pow-Pow as a nickname to her name.
So the question now is, what came first, the chicken or the easter egg in the lore.
Because either it was purely an easter egg in arcane that happened to fit powder's nickname, OR Jinx named her gun Pow-Pow subconsciously.
Or additionally, Pow-Pow is considered Jinx's mini gun, arguable her weakest base attack. If she's naming that weapon pow pow it could mean that she sees pow pow (powder) as the weak toggle version of herself, and that she's not at strong as her.
"Its Jinx now. Powder fell down a well!"
So in this song now, if we were to accept the Arcane chronological lore as retconned/re-injected information into Jinx's backstory, you can then argue that "Let's See what PowPow thinks" means that she's asking "I wonder what the younger weakling Powder would think/do against all this chaos and mayhem I can do now."
That's my take on it.
Oh wow definitely could be intentional!
So curious as to what Ange is going to do at the end! Great reaction once again, looking forward to your reactions to the cinematic trailers as well!
You should do reaction to all cinematics from League, as I stopped playing years ago, but still like to watch any new cinematics that came out, as most are outstanding!
We will 😊
Jinx's minigun is called "Pow-Pow" her rocket launcher is "Fishbones", we only learned in Arcane, that her name was Powder, and Vi even called her "Pow-Pow" in one of the episodes.
When she sings the line "lets blow the city to ashes, and see what pow-pow thinks" can either mean, ask the Minigun, or it is a reference to her fractured mind/personality
Fun fact:The studio who made Arcane is also made Get Jinxed back in 2013
Yeah how cool! Very talented
she gave name to her guns.... powpow for her mini gun and fishbone for her rocket launcher and her pistol is zapper and she talks to them like they're a person... thats why in the game there's a voice line where ekko says to jinx " I had a crush, until you started talking to the gun"
Jinx before : She looks so happy
Jinx today : Atleast she is happy
Mhhm 😭
yeah as a league fan since 2013 (year Jinx was released) it was shocking watching Arcane because before i only thought jinx was this crazy harley queen girl but after the series i was sad and depressed lol
Yeah they added so much more to the character by the looks of things
Omg cant wait for all the cinematics
What hurts the most to me was the line “But I’m ready,” thinking of how sad it sounded compared the the rest of the lyrics. It was what powder told vi when she told her to stay home. I thought that was really cool
looking back to one line in the song " and see what pow pow thinks " after watching Arcane makes me think it was a hint at her actual name being Powder so the line is Jinx wanting to know what powder thinks of her now.
You REALLY should react to all the songs of the Arcane OST that are sung: Playground, Burn it all Down, and Enemy again, but the videos from the Arcane promotion, the ones from the Worlds Opening Ceremony of 2021. Just watch them all together, you'd love it. Goodbye and What Could Have Been don't have music videos but listen to them in full too.
Jinx is one of my favorites in League, I am glad to see the opinion of people that don't know LoL, proves Arcane was great and not just a hit with fans of LoL.
Pow Pow is Vi's nickname for Powder yes, but it is also the name of her mini-gun. Did she named it that because of that fact, who knows since it came first, but the song could refer to either. Fishbones is the rocket launcher. In game Jinx can swap them out at any time with her Q ability, one fires faster and the other does area damage but fires slower and does bonus to buildings. That whole song is a dream sequence pretty much. There are some changes to Jinx in Arcane, but they are all for the better, they really fleshed out her character more, she isn't just crazy for the sake of being crazy anymore.
Definitely put the "Kin of the Stained Blade" cinematic up near the top of your list! It is "Arcane-esque" in it's quality, and much more along the lines of traditional anime. It's a great taste of new lands/characters where Arcane could go!
I love the scene with the door gap. As Powder she looks out worried or nervous, and Jinx she looks out as a predator lol.
Haha yeah so great 😄
We can say that the Jinx of "Get Jinxed" is a more "advanced" state of the Jinx we see at the end of Arcane. When that video came out, Jinx only came to Runeterra to sow chaos and anarchy. She doesn't care about anything but blowing things up. The reality is, when the character came out, she was largely based on the madness of Harley Quinn and the Joker (in the game she still is). What made Arcane so great is giving her an extremely dramatic backstory to explain why the character is the way she is.
people always jump to Harley Quinn but honestly her similarities are nearly visual onlys.
the dev blogs even shared that she was conceptd more based on joker, smegol and another one that i dont know and on the later stages of desining they looked at her an thought "she kinda look like Harley Quinn" and embraced it a bit.
Maybe she’ll make that transition in season 2?
@@CarlieAndAnge Probably. I'd still prefer if they let her have some of the depth she got in this series and not turn her into a crazy person who blows stuff up just because she likes it, which is her representation in the game XD.
@@MattSamma to be fair she has at times shown that there is more to her then that it’s just how she copes with her trauma
I remember watching this in 2013 when Jinx got released, so she became the second character whom I actually read the entire lore.
There are so many characters! Cant wait to see them
Fun fact: Jinx's song was in Arcane hahaha when she was playing loud music and Silco was calling her name beside her in Progress Day, hahaha!!
Another cinematics related to arcane in order of how much its related to the show are:
1.ekko trailer(its about ekko)
2.Warwick trailer(its about warwick, the terror of zaun, a very inportant champion in the story)
3.Warriors 2020 cinematic(there is a fight were vi and caitly fight against urgot(a charcater from the game))
3.Awaken cimatic (there is a fight between jhin(a masked murder)and camille(a nearly perfect hexteck based enforcer )that takes place in a teather from zaun)
We’ll try to watch all of them 😊
You should check out the Champion Spotlight for Jinx on the League of Legends channel. You’ll see how her abilities and weapons in the game were kept pretty consistent in Arcane.
Watching Get Jinxed now you just expect such high grade animation, but when this came out it blew our minds. That a game company would spend the time to make an entire music video, fully animated, just for the release of a champion was incredible.
Theyre very talented
7:45 Check out on the wall in the background, she wrote "Nerf Heimerdinger" there 😂
Thats hilarious!😂
Bombs streaking towards the Piltover towers?! I'm so glad I didn't see this until after I saw Arcane.
Some really great stuff to check out:
League of Legends Cinematic Season 2020 Warriors.
Flares (Arcane music video)
Don't Remember Me (Fan made song from Jinx's perspective)
Domino (Other fan made song from Jinx's perspective)
Pow-Pow is her minigun, which she named Pow-Pow after the nickname Vi gave her as a child. And the shark bazooka is named Fishbones, and in the games, it's the weapon she uses for her ultimate ability which is essentially what we see at the end of Arcane.
So, a bit of historical context for this video for anyone interested: Jinx was a champion that was hinted and teased for over a year. She featured prominently in one of the opening screen splash arts (from her perspective) and was hidden in two others. "She" vandalized the wiki pages for Vi and Caitlyn, etc. But, we never got to see her face. This is why the video teases it out for so long and why there's a quiet moment when they actually do so 42 seconds into the song. It wasn't just to change over to the next verse, it was intentional to draw attention to the first sight of her face.
A bit of extra context is Jinx and Vi's designs and design mentality. Jinx was meant to be the opposite of Vi (which, a long with some hints, everyone assumed they were sisters which wasn't actually confirmed until Arcane, though originally Jinx was the older of the two.) Jinx was ranged, so Vi was melee. Vi is fully clothed, Jinx is barely clothed. Vi has an hourglass figure, jinx has a waifish figure. Vi has pink hair and blue eyes, Jinx has blue hair and pink eyes. When Vi was released, Riot did something they never did before. They made them a theme song "Here comes vi" that is entirely about her with full lyrics etc (before this, characters would get a theme for the opening screen but weren't really tied to the characters themselves). So of course, when Jinx comes out, she gets a fully animated music video. While common for Riot now, the animated cinematics to that point were few and far between.
So Jinx and this video were pretty much a master class in how to properly hype up and pay off a character reveal.
