    Love seeing examples of how the MIDI effects stack and can be manipulated, would love to see more in the future if you do more showcasing the Pyramid.

    Its like the main encoder should be at the left side of the screen instead, so the screen wont get blocked from view with the left hand

      i realise i neglected this channel :-) hopefully i’ll record some new vids soon but right now i’m working with a stripped down setup as most of my gear is in storage.

    I got a Pyramid a couple days ago. It is feature-packed but very frustrating to get around on. Hoping it gets easier. I am running V 3.21. I think I have run into a couple bugs but have no way to confirm. After recording a track I noticed a sequence I had on a different track got a couple of garbled notes but did not record anything new on that channel. Also, I was unable to delete a track until after it saved then it deleted.

    I don't get the design choices of this sequencer. Numbers that are essential, that are used for the main function of this, are small (note, velo, etc), and then there is this huge bpm number and UI ornaments taking place, just why?

    Are there default drum note numbers assigned to the pads already? The Beat Step Pro offers this by default..seems tedious to assign note numbers ...

      By default it's a chromatic scale - i.e. just like a keyboard - so C2 is a kick, D2 is a snare, etc. You can go up/down octaves with the two arrow keys. this makes it pretty easy to select any drum note, when you're step programming: switch to LIVE mode, find the drum sound, switch back to STEP mode and program a pattern. You can create your own custom scales, so I guess you could create one that just had all the drum notes you wanted (but i haven't tried).
      It's worth pointing out a major difference between this and the Beat Step Pro: BSP only has 2 monophonic tracks and 1 drum track. Pyramid has (i think) up to 64 Poly tracks, any of which can be drum or melodic. BSP also quantizes everything. I got rid of my BSP because i found it too limiting - i was looking for a DAW replacement that i could just turn on and capture creative ideas without touching a mouse. I tend to use it that way to 'rough' out ideas, and then record them into a DAW to develop them properly. BSP has big buttons, nice coloured LEDs and lots of knobs, so good for live use but maybe better suited to EDM than multi-genre. Also, you need to fire up your PC if you need to configure any settings in BSP, or save/load patterns which was annoying and another reason I ditched it.

    Can it play sequences chained, like a song?

    • @stegophonic4393
      @stegophonic4393 4 роки тому

      yes - there’s a seq mode that lets you chain different sequences using track mode tracks. tbh i find that this mode is getting into DAW territory, so for whole songs i’d probably fire up the pc - but i can see how it could be great for making some live sets

    Looks like a cool sequencer. Is it just me, or does it seem like it takes many menus to get things moving?

    • @NeilMyatt
      @NeilMyatt 5 років тому

      Probably just me making things more complex than necessary. It actually has a really straightforward workflow. There's a couple of minor things I'd change, but they might get addressed in a firmware update anyway.
