Air Jordan 2 Chicago Restoration

Welcome to another sneaker restoration with Blxck Fox! In this video, I'll be showing how to restore a pair of Air Jordan 2s from 1994. Being that the sneakers are about thirty years old, there's signs of age and wear. The deteriorating midsoles, thirty years worth of dirt and wear on the sneakers, and foam inside the ankle area falling apart.
I will show you step-by-step on removing the old glue, midsoles, and soles, making way for the donor midsoles and soles. The uppers are cleaned from the dirt and grime of thirty years. Along with pieces of midsoles that was picked up from taking them apart. Cleaning them uppers reconditions the leather, preventing it from deteriorating from age and drying out.
While the uppers dry off, the donor of choice is a pair of Air Jordan 2 lows. The midsoles and soles match perfectly compared to the originals. Acetone is poured into the shoe to help separate the midsoles from the uppers. The soles are given a slight cleaning. The yellowing on the soles are removed by applying forty volume cream on the soles and placed in my indoor setup.
The air unit in the midsoles is replaced with a zoom unit after the midsoles is shaved down with a Dremal sanding tool. Barge Superstik Cement is applied to the midsoles, zoom units, and uppers. They're glued together when the glue cures for about an hour. The use of a heat gun reactivates the dried up glue.
After everything is bonded together, the leather on the uppers is prepped with acetone and cotton balls. White paint from Angelus Direct is applied to mask off any scuffs and scratches that's on the leather.
When the scuffs are fixed up, Krylon matte finish is applied to the uppers and midsoles. It replaces the previous finisher that was removed earlier in the video.
