Picking the right time to go is crucial - when we went the swells were higher - people had to time their jumps SO carefully! Always windy at South Point.

Was there years ago on hike to green sand beach. Beautiful water. But existentially frightening. I felt I’d be drawn to Antarctica if I slipped into that incredible water. All the adjectives I’m using are so inadequate to describe the feeling, the siren call I felt there. It reminds me of a horrible feeling I’ve gotten in really tall buildings.

When we were there in Jan, the swells were really high. We were at South Point on Tue but on the Sat prior, 4 guys jumped in and only 3 came back up. Tge locals told us they had tried to warn them but they didn’t listen 😢. Looks very calm today

I’ve jumped off cliffs a number of times in my life but every time I just think to myself “ok”. I guess what I’m saying is apparently some people really think it’s fun or something but I really have never really gotten much out of it.
Can anyone who enjoys this activity explain what feelings they get out of it??
