This is one hell of a stunning approach, so much appreciated... shows how being a pilot does have its perks :) Loved watching this, thank you very much :)
Absolutely. One of my lifes biggest regrets is not having the fortitude to chase my aviation dream of being a pilot. At the time the $150,000 AUD for aviation school i saw as a too bigger wall but i know peole who stacked supermarket shelves at night & got second & third jobs to make it. The things they see on the flight deck must be incredible.
Awesome! I was planning a trip here before the coronavirus stuff hit the fan, and now I have to wait for flights to resume to Europe from the US. Love those Austrain Alps. Great video and great hand flying.
I've flown that same approach lots of times, in a flight sim 😁 172p, seneca II and pc9, absolutely mind blowing to see it irl. Such a nice piece of flying.
When I see this video, I think about a Frankie Boyles joke on Mock the Week: Topic: Unnerving things to hear from the cockpit of a plane? Frankie Boyle: "- This is the first cloud I ever seen with a skilift on it!"
I was nervous flying Sun Valley, KSUN, where you fly up one side of the valley and down the other. That was a piece of cake. You'd have to have skis on the aircraft to fly this approach...
Amazing view of the Austrian Alps with the perfect approach and landing !!! The pilot must have ear protection from the sound of that engine :) The sound of music ? :)
It doesn't look that difficult here on this video, I noticed that in the video animation with a Boeing-737 after the final right turn the runway looks much closer than in real flight. Great video, tho. Thanks.
WOW, this is exactly what I want to do, in few years our YT channels will be fighting hahaha, good job! Sorry about my english, bt i'm a spanish student Like and new sub!
Hi, just last part is regular circle when we joined downwind position. Before we were asked to fly paralelly of centerline because of opposit departed traffic.
Hi, love the video! Would you mind answering a question? I am training for a PPL, and am very early on in my lessons, so please forgive me any loose terminology! I am looking at a visual approach plate (charts.vacc-austria.org/LOWI/LOWI_Approach_Visual%20Approach_11122014.pdf) and trying to figure out what you did. Were you to the south of "LOC OEV 255 deg", just off the straight-in line for runway 26? It looks like you come in over those ridge lines at the bottom of the chart. What a lovely approach and landing though, I am envious both of the opportunity and your skill!
Mirandorl Hi :) Yes I understand, You can be confused by this visual approach. As I say in a description this was very unusual. We were asked by ATC to fly close to mountains to avoid oncoming traffic from runway 26. We didn't follow any procedure, only terrain. You can see visual circling procedure for runway 08 in this video ua-cam.com/video/5v_F8fJTC1U/v-deo.html
Marco It was last year... in April or May I think. A swiss motorglider got caught in the "rotor" of a Foehn storm (Foehn is created by warm mediterranean air that gets pushed up to the south of the Alps, cools off while it rises along the mountains and then comes back down on the northern side of the mountain as strong downdraft. It can cause quite severe turbulence and strong winds with gusts up to 50kts) and crashed into the fence just south of the runway next to the heliport. Both occupants died.
@@FlyingBanana320 I was refering to engine powered aircraft incidents. Also, the wikipedia does not state the incident with the glider for whatever reason. Im very familiar with Foehn storms, because i live in Tyrol.
Marco well technically it was an engine powered aircraft... If you're referring to SEPs (single engine piston) and larger aircraft, then I must admit I don't know when the last fatal accident happend. Link to the a first report on the incident: www.sust.admin.ch/inhalte/AV-berichte/HB-YCM.pdf . Since it was a swiss aircraft any further reports will be published on the SUST website aswell, rather than the BMVIT.
Most likely manual for the most part. You can tell from the ever slightly jerky nature of the videos, indicating the pilots holding onto the yoke to keep the aircraft stable. Plus most pilots disable autopilot on approach to landing.
Great visuals, horrible audio. Was there a fan next to the mic? What is causing that sound? Other than that, perfect. I am not being an ass on purpose, but providing some critical feedback. How else are we going to improve with out feedback?
+Brütal Löve Hello. No there wasn't any fan around and I can't figure it out what causes this sound. And it only happens in this airplane. When you look at other videos you can hear it's not everywhere though I put the camera always at the same place. Thanks for the feedback :)
CockpitVideos Please do not think I am dissing your work, it was fabulous. That noise just got to me. Excellent video, and that scenery is some of the most beautiful in the world. Breath taking!
That is usually a mistake by people whose first language is not English. I give 'em some slack unless I know their language better than they know mine.
@@KutWrite If by 'give them slack', you mean I fail to identify their error so that they can 'save face' how does that help? I would expect and value the same correction if the positions were reversed, just as it has for me many times when attempting to speak or write in a language other than that of my birth.
Innský most leží v krásnom údolí. Počasie nádherné.
Excellent! I was wishing for a rough landing to cure my hick cups, but that didn't happen. Nice circle to R/W 08 and landing.
This is one hell of a stunning approach, so much appreciated... shows how being a pilot does have its perks :) Loved watching this, thank you very much :)
Absolutely :) You are welcome!

was für ein Augenschmaus! Danke.
Not many places give me a homesick feeling, but Innsbruck/Igls sure does.
Awesome! I was planning a trip here before the coronavirus stuff hit the fan, and now I have to wait for flights to resume to Europe from the US. Love those Austrain Alps. Great video and great hand flying.
There are direct flights from Brussels (Belgium) to Innsbruck (Austria)
Landing must be a challenge in bad weather. Great video!
Fantástic from Brazil.
What a beautiful city, on my to Visit Places list now. Thanks for sharing.
Abesolutely Beautiful!!thank you!Thank you!
STUNNING APPROACH!! GREAT JOB!!
I've flown that same approach lots of times, in a flight sim 😁 172p, seneca II and pc9, absolutely mind blowing to see it irl. Such a nice piece of flying.
But it´s impressive, isn´t it? They did build the airport and the surroundings exactly like in the simulator! :D
Just amazing! Thank you so much for posting!
This is a lovely video. Such scenic views!
Great landing !!!!
When I see this video, I think about a Frankie Boyles joke on Mock the Week:
Topic: Unnerving things to hear from the cockpit of a plane?
Frankie Boyle: "- This is the first cloud I ever seen with a skilift on it!"
A different version of that. Last comment of the Pilot Captain. "What's a mountain goat doing in a cloud bank" ?
I was nervous flying Sun Valley, KSUN, where you fly up one side of the valley and down the other. That was a piece of cake. You'd have to have skis on the aircraft to fly this approach...
That's a pretty impressive Sim.

Fantastic videos mate. - all good.
The Axam church bell tower as turning point ;-)
I always taking this church as a point for to begin a turn.
wow...
btw, what is the sound? :(
Cockpit view is great but this effort really needs and lacks cockpit audio?
Hey - we've got all this space here - where shall we build our housing? Oh, let's do what we always do - put them under the airport approach path.
@Blob B In many cases, yes.

Viva Innsbruck 👍
Very nice!
Thumb up and subscribed.
Mind those hills. (British Eagle 1966)
The Way to Innsbruck !
If this included any cockpit chatter along with ATC chatter, it might have been quite good.
You have to know where you areand where you are going. I don't in that situation. Well done.
Fantastic!!!!!
anybody want to jump out and go skiing?
Oh Yess!!
Awesome!
Nice landing! This is one of the most challenging approaches in the world, and you made it look easy. Also, what aircraft did you fly?
Thank you :) This is Cessna Citation II. I also fly CJ1 and CJ3
Ahh, the Citation. One of my favorite private aircraft.
Looks like a 747 to me
Sweet. Thanks.
A Flight to Innsbruck !
Like the Queenstown of Europe
I wish you would keep the banners off the screen until the plane turns toward the terminal. Those banners diminish the visual experience.
Engines sound cranky, is it normal?
pretty view!! :)

niccce landing!
Can you make a new video landing on runway 26? (btw are you from innsbruck?)
Yes, I can make a new video and no I'm not from Innsbruck. :)
Is this an A320
Cessna Citation II

I like to go hill-soaring in my jet - it saves fuel.
Isn't it extremly dangerous to fly so low near the mountains. I mean there are often some downdrafts.
I think the last fatal accident in Innsbruck was im the 70s.

I wouldn’t like to be landing there is fog, that would be a real bum clencher.
