    I can greeeeettt!😂
In a bus or taxi I’ll greet the person beside me, in an Uber I’ll greet the driver and make small talks, on my street I’ll greet the shop owners, climbing up the stairs I’ll greet a passer by. As an introvert it helps me do so much without doing too much to acknowledge and relate with people

Pastey does a lot for this generation to be honest.
It's how he goes out of his way to simplify sound knowledge all round.
Things that might be common knowledge suddenly become so profound yet simple to apply.
Personally, I'm grateful for Apostle Emmanuel Iren everyday.

it’s important to know that you’re not “less” than anyone. yes someone might be holding a higher position but that doesn’t make you any less of a human being. He or she is a human being just like you. That is something that has helped me be more confident when addressing people

    Fantastic points sir! 🙏
Some others that I've learned and practice include:
    - Always avoid the urge to judge other people; let people feel like they can be themselves around you.
    - Can't remember if Pastor Iren mentioned it, but please smell nice. Wear a nice deodorant/cologne - you'd feel more confident to approach people. It could even be a conversation starter, lol.
    - Be ready to add value to people anytime or anywhere. For instance, "oh you're a fashion content creator, you might want to follow so so person to glean some ideas". People open up to givers easily.
Still more, but I can remember these for now. 🙌❤

I love this, nobody talks about this. Your work is not enough and will not speak for you. People will speak for you. In school we are never taught this, all you need is to read your books and pass your exams. We then transfer this into work, we do our job alone but you need to relate, look at the office dynamics, and follow accordingly.

I have noticed that not everyone has the ability to speak while a group discussion is going. Some will just stay muted as if they had nothing to say where as they have a lot to say. When I see my self in a gathering like that I figure out people like that very quickly, ask them very simple questions and I will ensure it makes them smile. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

One social skill that I keep reminding myself about is practicing my authenticity. Simply being oneself is so powerful in a world loaded with identity crises. So, within any given social space, I remember to be myself, to be genuine in my actions and sincere with every remark. I also consider it really helpful to understand that my way of having fun is legitimate and no one else should try to intimidate me because I don't want to hang out in their own way. Communicating this difference is the tricky part and this is where practice really helps. Thanks for sharing all these useful nuggets PIE. God bless you sir!

Thanks Pastey... I have also learned to be teachable. It's okay to keep quiet when you're not familiar with the subject matter. Also, I try not to argue blindly in a bid to sound knowledgeable. This can frustrate the other party and give irritable vibes. Enquire, ask questions and be actually interested, like Pastey said. And if you know something, confidently and simply lay it out..

  • @preciousutobivbi4547

One thing that has helped me is that when I get to a new space, I take some minutes to observe the persons around, join in on open conversations, and may not talk much but at least I listen or I try to start a conversation with a smile, it works all the time. The little things you do also matter. One day, during my internship at this place, I didn't have enough money on me, so on my way to work, I bought some chocolates and shared them with my colleagues at work. Also, when visiting anyone, no matter how small, I make it a habit to not go empty-handed.

Speaking of eye contact, some cultures, like Yoruba, consider it rude if children look into the eyes of elders when they are talking to them, especially when they are rebuking or scolding a child. They get beaten for keeping eye contact. Even as a grown woman, on the 4th floor, I still struggle with eye contact but I'm more intentional now. God bless you pastor Iren for this

I'm watching this at the perfect time. Apparently I set a big goal to talk to 15 ladies that I don't know yesterday Sunday. I was scared for a while but I canceled the feeling of fear by having a conversation with myself. Abi is it not just to talk with babes?😅😅. One lady didn't give me a favourable response though - she gave me elbow 😭. Lastly, i actually spoke with a group of 3 and 4 ladies that were together. This helped me achieve my goal faster. And by the way, the ladies were pretty 😍

Personally, to establish confidence, I get comfortable with whatever it is, topic, behaviour, choice of action etc, just be sure to be open to learn otherwise, you'll just look stubborn and ignorant. Also this may be complex but creation of mental images in the mind of the person you're talking to using choice of words, That first statement (Opener) matters alot and even through out the conversation. For example, Just by greeting this way 'bros welldone o' I can create a conducive atmosphere with say a mechanic, taxi driver and so on, If I say 'good afternoon, how are you' In an office (while dressed appropriately), I'll be accorded much respect and perhaps even mistaken for a highly placed person in the company. Along side other subtle but asertive statements and much practice, you'll pretty much be at the top of your game.👍
