Hello RobinsNest818. Eas talking to Dick at his boat a few days ago and he told me he was the photographer. A classic bit of local people most of whom I knew or indeed, still know. Meet up with Robert most days during the week.
Mr Bowick, Burgh Surveyor and then harbourmaster , supervising the berthing of the tanker Onward Progress. At 9.05 is a youthful John King with his lobster pots. Great stuff.
RobinsNest818, what a great film thank you for sharing it I am a native of Kirkcudbright, and it was a treat to watch all the faces from the past. I hope you have some moreto show.
Then you may have met me. I was in briefly, as the meeting was ending, one day last July. My Dad you would know. He had the flat on St.Cuthbert, across the street, for the entire month of July and joined the group often while on holiday.
Ok, my fam, I just got a fun idea! This summer, let's recreate the Isle scene in a tribute to the 14 that are no longer with us. There are certainly plenty of Grandchildren and Great grandchildren that can fill in. I think it'd be sensational! What do you say?
You are most welcome! The response has been much greater than I'd expected so yes, I will be posting more. It takes me awhile, though, so I apologize in advance if there is much of a wait!
Super to see John King with the Onward Progress
Kirkcudbright has changed over the last 20 and less years

Aye RobinsNest818. The group are known as the sweety wives! Robert is the leader. He is away at the present time, back next week.
Bill will be your Dad then. I seem to recall a brief visit by a lady last year, that must have been you.
Great movie! Any idea on what year it was?
This is amazing! Is there a way to reach you? Would love to add this to my documentary on Scotland
Ohhhhh....sorry. It's on the Isle. Where in Kirkcudbright do you live? I love the town. It's really so beautiful! Have you lived there long?
So if you see Robert most days, let me guess...... 10:00 AM coffee?
