With the logo of 3 bodies, something about the sound change from Blood album to Bodies reminds me a lot of Decemberunderground. Must be them including a lot more electronic elements again. But yeah I get some Crash Love vibes from this and the other song they released today!

I understand why they lost some fans with All Hollows Eve, Art of Drowning and STS, but I thought it was a great progression. I'm not saying I have DISLIKED anything, but STS was the last album that gave me that feeling I can't describe. I'm glad they're still writing and performing. I'm thrilled they're still around. However... Decemberunderground on, I really can't get into it.
Reading this comment section does make me happy, though. Even if I'm not loving it, I'm super happy they're still at it and other people ARE feeling it.
At least they let everyone know they were moving on, though. If you remember, there was the image of a porthole on the back of the STS album where you could see the waves but the black sails ship had sailed. A pretty clear message of their intentions.

@@numskul I never knew that bit about the album work. That was another thing I loved about AFI. All the neat "hidden" meanings behind so much. It seemed like EVERY thing they did was well thought out and planned.
December wunderground was not a good album. This album is excellent in comparison.

Their song crafting hit mastery for the Blood album, and it continues here. The subtlety of the orchestral part near the end flowing in and out is a perfect example. I have zero doubts this will be my album of the year, as every single one of their albums has been. Still as proud as ever to have permanently adorned my body in homage to them, and the music they create 🖤
I love the bass guitar on this album, compared to other albums
I finally figured out what's "missing" or what would take this one too the next level. At 1:52 layer in the first verse, it fits perfectly and ends right with 'you wait'
AFI will be here December 2nd this will be my fourth time seeing them live man I cannot wait
This album definitely takes a few listens to really "get it". I initially heard the songs, and I was like " what the fuck guys....retire already sheesh." Then I listened to songs over and more with a clear perspective and started to really get it. To me this album is like what it feels to be AFI in southern california. You can feel the heat. The mundane day to day routine of these guys. Getn around town. Idk. Its quality stuff

I disagree actually... This sounds just like 3/4 of the songs on their past 3 albums. It sounds fine, but I'm not going to remember it in the least bit. Looking Tragic was much better to me.
@@xalgolx5869 It's no 'Girl's Not Grey' or 'Narrative of Soul Against Soul', that's for sure, but the problem for me was that 'Looking Tragic' had no chorus. In fact, it was a little embarrassing to listen to
@@theconversation9103 conspiracy: Looking Tragic was a lost Blaqk Audio song stripped of its techno qualities and retooled into a rock song. I can't imagine them actually writing this song as is and seeing it as quality AFI. Even the lyrics feel more Blaqk Audio and the fairly stiff singing.
