Hi Sam, I live in a shared watermill which got flooded recently, 10" inside. there is no dpc and is back to back brick construction no cavity. Today i removed render 500mm up to find historic injection holes open.. My assumption is transfer from front to inside skin. would a self adhesive bituseal up the wall and 100mm to the floor?e after remedial render and hole plugging? the bricks are really porous last year i used fascade cream on the bricks but still came through!
    Regards Shaun.

Hi Sam, I'm having condensation issues inside my walk-in closet. Build 1930, it caused mold. I smelled a bad smell on and off for over 15 year but never saw anything until now. The remediators cut out closet wall and said they saw nothing. Mold is under the house in the crawlspace. The mold in my closet was cleaned off wall before I contacted this company. When my walls were tested I was told it was from condensation. There is no insulation inside walls. I remember in my wash room I had salts on my wall from a leak that we did not know was there until the paint kept peeling. Opened plaster wall in 1999 found hot water heater pipe that was left in wall after removal and capped pipe in wall was slowly leaking. My closet is on the opposite side of the home. Can I put moisture barriers drywall with no insulation back in walk-in closet. I took the closet doors off because I was told the closet needs air circulation.

Is it not correct that de-humidifiers release heat when the moisture condenses in them, so whilst they use electricity, you do get some heat from them.

      No

@@dampsam Ebac claims this ‘Ebac dehumidifiers remove moisture from the air and release warm, dry air. This process makes them almost energy neutral, allowing you to lower your thermostat by one degree and still feel the same temperature’

A year ago I had damp proof coarse applied to my walls and then plastered. Now in some areas the paint has blistered and peeled off. The trader convinced it was painted too soon, how can I identify that it maybe damp coming through again?

Hi Sam, do you use moisture resistant plasterboard for your drywall system?
Thanks for all the great videos, you've been a big help.

Ay up Sam I’ve a rental property that paint is constantly flaking dusting off. I’ve tryed all the makes of paint and sealer . I’m going to try the drywall system and take it back to brick and instastik and acrylic the boards. Do I treat with salt neutraliser and a DPM every place this is happening.
    Thanks

I have a dehumidifier for drying clothes 160w an hour of power running for 10hrs will use 1.6kw costs around 55p to run for 10hrs but we only use it in the room we dry clothes have no condensation issues no build up of moisture and strong extractor fan in bathroom right above shower.
    1960s build.
Also leaving your heating off doesn't help best to keep your house at constant temp 16 degrees or above

Are bridging issues not simply rising damp that's happening despite a DPC?

Dehumidifier is the best thing in an old house with poor insulation in my opinion

Or if you have the money fix the ventilation and insulation problem
