Xmla endpoints you can create reports in tableau on pbi model, really pbi strength is in data modeling vs tableau is visualization. Hope pbi catches up though on native visualization front, charticulator possibly needs to some more attention and better integration.

Great video! I would add to put the most important visual at the top of the report page. Use simple visuals that will not require education to understand them. Put more complex visuals on a separate page. It should only take 2-3 seconds to understand a visual on the first page.
Big fan of drillthrough and custom backgrounds. It just makes the report so much more lively. Would be great if there was a marketplace with ready made concepts to import. Thanks Adam!
Great video. I've been using most 'tricks' for a while but it somehow still feels like I'm doing work-arounds that are not intended by Power BI while in fact they are probably intended as such but underpromoted! I also wish that Cards were interactive so that you can click on a card value to slice the rest of the Dashboard. As a workaround I place a bar chart on top of it with the same value and make it transparant using #FFFFF00 and tweaking the visuals appearance. It takes some further tweaking by disabling that it also filters other cards etc but it's nice to be able to smash those cards as desired. With conditional DAX formatting I also make a semi transparent colored layer that indicates which card is selected. I know this isn't an exact tutorial but hopefully it points in the general direction of using layers and transparency to create out of the box functionality. Though it would really help if cards just became interactive out of the box. Keep 'm coming!
On custom backgrounds, I’ve just reverted away from having different colour page background to a visual’s background. It makes spacing much harder as you have to be pixel perfect and even then viewing on the service sometimes screws the display up slightly.
The terminology man... bookmarks == "showing/hiding overlays". If you're not a frontend developer, you're safe. If you are, then you must be at least somewhat irritated.
Plssssss help so confused as an absolute beginner....🙏😭🙏😉 So a report can't be built with just one table ( fact table) if i have only one file .. i must have a dimension table if not then i have to make it myself??? Coz i tried uploading a report and that is a fact table with some data of shipment with dimensions like order date , shipment date, shipped no. Blah blah and facts like price order quantity and all of the are on the same sheet (table)... So when i tried to create a simple measure like sum or quantity or price the column name don't show up in the measure .. but if i create a column measure they do... Pls help y..😭😭😭😭😭😭
I agree with all of the ideas. My favorite one is filter/info menu, where also navigation buttons can be added. It earns space in the dashboard. I'd also add a title bar. Thanks for the content Adam!
Love the video. A colleague simplified this approach. She set up a load of text boxes with yellow background colour and set up the button to show / hide. Love the idea of a transparent image with bubbles / balloons but her approach was dead simple!

Is there actually a way that bookmarks pane is visible/expanded by default to Report Consumers. I have defined a proper set of Bookmarks in one of my Reports. Of course i know i could create buttons. But why?!? Actually the Bookmarks / More Bookmarks is ok I just hate that i need to click twice to get it opened...
I have a issue with my dashboard which is My data contains a date field which is in "mm/dd/yyyy" and in the desktop I have changed the format to "dd/mm/yyyy" but in the slicer its by default reflecting as "m/d/yyyy" format. I have changed the regional setting to English(India) but still it is not changing. Could you please help on this issue

The purpose is actually to build a dashboard with the most important kpi, and if u like u can move on to a more detailed dashboard. Its actually a summary for executives. Info panel is super awesome! I often find myself thinking like "how come you don't know how to read or use that chart!". But yeah, just like Steve Pinker says that when we have the knowledge, it is almost unimaginable to understand why people can't understand.

Is there an option for that filter bookmark to scroll down too when the page size has larger height. I want my filters to be accessible even for the visuals at bottom of the page, dont want users to keep scrolling top and bottom for it. Anything like freezing a certain part or hovering filter bookmark :P

While these are great tips. I would caution using bookmarks ... They are high maintenance. Could you do a video on that conditional drill-through. Also are fonts in Themes limited to just Microsoft fonts or can we use other fonts (assuming the report will be published to the service)?
