Please do a video on conditional drill through and I’d love to see how you did the decomposition! I do a few of these, but not as well thought out as yours!
Love the video. A colleague simplified this approach. She set up a load of text boxes with yellow background colour and set up the button to show / hide. Love the idea of a transparent image with bubbles / balloons but her approach was dead simple!
Big fan of drillthrough and custom backgrounds. It just makes the report so much more lively. Would be great if there was a marketplace with ready made concepts to import. Thanks Adam!
Wow - this is the answer to my recent issue of what to show users! They want so much but in so many different ways, this solves that completely!! Thanks so much for being awesome!
Great video! I would add to put the most important visual at the top of the report page. Use simple visuals that will not require education to understand them. Put more complex visuals on a separate page. It should only take 2-3 seconds to understand a visual on the first page.
I agree with all of the ideas. My favorite one is filter/info menu, where also navigation buttons can be added. It earns space in the dashboard. I'd also add a title bar. Thanks for the content Adam!
Info panel is super awesome! I often find myself thinking like "how come you don't know how to read or use that chart!". But yeah, just like Steve Pinker says that when we have the knowledge, it is almost unimaginable to understand why people can't understand.
On custom backgrounds, I’ve just reverted away from having different colour page background to a visual’s background. It makes spacing much harder as you have to be pixel perfect and even then viewing on the service sometimes screws the display up slightly.
Love the drill through feature! I've used that on a few of my reports already but I LOVE the decomposition button you set up there. I am DEFINITELY going to use that! Thank you!!!
Great to see those changing visuals and buttons control drill through Looking forward for your detailed video on how to create those options including info menu
*Thank you Adam* 🥰. A litle timeline of this really useful video... 01:25 Customs Backgrounds 02:21 Themes 03:46 Tooltips 05:15 Drillthrough 06:36 Buttons ✅For the Info Panel video : ua-cam.com/video/yYr_SlG8bpw/v-deo.html Hope it helps 😉
This was great! Most PBI wideos that I come across are how do handle data, writte measures, make data modesl. This one showed the artistic side od PBI and storyteling with data, and I already know that ad least two will be implemented in my reports :D Much thanks!
@@GuyInACube I’ve used the report tooltips, the filter slide out, and drill through buttons, they took me a bit to learn and get the setting right. I like them, but my users are not big on drilling beyond a single report page :/ My focus is mainly on a clean logical flow, using that grey background, nice logo etc. That helps to keeps there attention :)
I really love your videos and I was ready to watch you teach us how to do all that you did, but I didn't really get the explanation. Please help make a video that explains all of these amazing features
Some great tips there, thank you. I couldn't understand how and why tooltips aid performance by deferring execution of certain things e.g. page load, though.
I learn a lot from both of you.. actually njoying learning PBI..thanks for each of your videos ..waiting for more though 😂 And yes info button is very good idea to use and help user to understand. But you don't show demo for that
Thanks for yet another great video. Have a question at 5:58. Is it possible to hide all others options (Options - Include, Exclude, Show data as table etc) except "Drill Through" on right click?
That tooltip is dope, I norm use smart narrative in mines to show custom info about each data point. But how do you get the changing images and different fonts would love to see a video about it.
After watching few of your videos I started reading the Russo book and I'm loving it. Just one question: you mention its always good to modify data as closest to the source as possible. Would you say then its better I include a TOTAL row in excel rather than doing in DAX : Sales Amount := SUMX ( Sales, Sales[Quantity] * Sales[Net Price] ) ? Would the answer depend on amount of rows? Thank you so much in advance for this, for sharing your knowledge and for your amazing communication skills.
Hello, Thanks for this video. I have a scenario . Can you please help me on that. I have a table with 8 columns . I need to access the table by it's column name. So i need to add the column names as the slicer values. How am I supposed to do that?
Xmla endpoints you can create reports in tableau on pbi model, really pbi strength is in data modeling vs tableau is visualization. Hope pbi catches up though on native visualization front, charticulator possibly needs to some more attention and better integration.
Is there an option for that filter bookmark to scroll down too when the page size has larger height. I want my filters to be accessible even for the visuals at bottom of the page, dont want users to keep scrolling top and bottom for it. Anything like freezing a certain part or hovering filter bookmark :P
Really like the Info panel concept, yes, would like a video on that!
Yes please!
Yep....another bananas idea/video coming up
Me too, it is a great idea
Yes Please!
Great idea! Yes please?
Def like the Button slicer pane and the Info panel overview, as well as the switching of the visuals, would love to see videos on that.

Please do a video on conditional drill through and I’d love to see how you did the decomposition! I do a few of these, but not as well thought out as yours!

I would love to see a video on the info panel. That is bonkers
What a weird way to spell BANANAS 😅😂
Love the video. A colleague simplified this approach. She set up a load of text boxes with yellow background colour and set up the button to show / hide.

Hi guys!! I really like the way you show us all the knowledge you have. BIG THANKS UP!! 🙂
We appreciate that! Thanks for watching! 👊

Great tip! 👊

Info panel would be awesome!! Tutorial would be cool

Really enjoyed this video and the tips on design. It’s amazing how taking the time on design makes an impact on your audience :)
Agreed! Glad you enjoyed it. Did you feel the things that were shown were complicated?

Big fan, can you help with how to perform earned value analysis and earned schedule analysis using power bi reports

Hello Adam. And how are these buttons and the drill through used if a user sees the report on a mobile phone or tablet?
That tooltip is dope, I norm use smart narrative in mines to show custom info about each data point. But how do you get the changing images and different fonts would love to see a video about it.
Thank god I found a video on bookmark that’s not showing off and is clear for me to start

Really like, Can you share the report or develop this report from start

Hello!
Your videos is amazing! Could you create a video teaching us how to create "First Pass Yield" chart on Power BI?
