Dallin and I just can't decide if buying a home is always this hard...or if this whole process is cursed for us. I just can't believe someone is doing this in our new home. There are BATHROOMS people...use them!!!

I have to comment.... I have held off doing it for months! Your little family has seriously rescued me from a very dark and depressed time in my life. I don’t even know how I landed on one of your videos, but thank God I did! I heard little George’s voice and I smiled! I could feel it on my face! First one in a very long time! Your.family became my anti anxiety go to in the middle of many what seemed like dark and endless nights. Thank you for values, and honesty, kindness and the words heck ton! Praying with you that our father will show you the path and home that will be perfect for you very soon!
Alrighty- Peeing in the house you’re going to buy has to be a health code violation. I’d talk to the builder and request for them to replace that insulation- especially if you’re going to put down a 5k to keep the house
Unfortunately construction workers are known for doing that. My dad is a manager at a construction plumbing company and he told me that he catches guys doing it quite a bit.

Piggybacking on this comment, if any insulation is moist at all they need to Replace it at their cost. I would fear it causing a mold problem eventually
This vlog had me smiling and giggling throughout. Well, except for the problems selling the townhouse and the pee issues in the new house. The things that were so warm were the memories of George talking about Blue's Clues and being 'cited' about the car wash. What an amazing young man you are raising.

Hi Dashleys - this sounds like situation that definitely should be handled by a professional realtor. They’re professionally trained to negotiate and what the appropriate remuneration for this type of activity at the new house. I’ve purchased several new build houses over the years and my realtor was indispensable in dealing with the builder.
Take it tothe builder tell him his men are doing it and now he wants you to pay another non refunable fee maybe he'll knock the price down or wave it?
Being out of commission on a phone etc made me miss you guys so much! I can’t believe how much George and James have grown. Like George is so articulate it’s crazy! Now off to catch up on all the dashley videos I’ve missed lol

That is INSANE! I had some construction works who were smoking INSIDE my house! Leaving trash (drink bottles, bags of old food, empty cigarette packs), they were three days late, didn’t say they were going to be days late and they told their boss they were at my house working when they wasn’t. They were supposed to sand my floors and restain, and they used MY painters tape (which I paid $30 for, for my other rooms not for THEM), and they ate/took food I had in my fridge and pantry. I was so upset and I never leave bad reviews but I absolutely had too. I know your pain 😭
Hi, the house you are trying to sell...is is q tip clean and decluttered? Like sweedish death cleaning? And freshly painted throughout, white is easiest, cheapest, latex paint. easy cut in for ceiling. Paint trim around doors windows etc. Advertise in paper on line, signs in yard, on street, on house, using what little is in house, bare minimum, stage it pretty. And whenever someone comes to see house, make sure they leave with a print out of the specs of your home, dimensions of all rooms, sq. footage, what it comes with like appliances, sweeten the deal with property tax for 2019 paid by you, and if you have a septic, cleaned out paid by you. That print out take away, gives the buyer something to refer back to when comparing, you don't want to loose a sale, over something they did not know was better about your house. Also, if the location is near bus stop or schools churches, beach rights etc. Age of house and every detail and measurement. I sold 2 houses, we are in our final home we built. We were mortgage free for 20 minutes. That was a good time. lol If you have an agent, make sure they have all this info. Sadly, when you sell private you only are selling your house, an agent has many other options they can steer a buyer toward. Good luck.

Insulation needs to be replaced in that room and any spots with urine. It's a health code violation !!
So, not quite the same, but my family had a similar ish experience several years ago. When I was in my sophomore year of highschool, my family moved into a new house. The previous owners literally left their dirty clothes and wet towels in my parents bathroom on the day we moved in. When we began renovations, my parents decided to redo the kitchen by removing a portion of the cieling that jutted out in the living room that they didn't like. We found a rear view mirror from a car inside the cavity of the remaining portion of the kitchen cieling. Additionally, when redoing the laundry room, my parents removed some sort of cabinet or dresser and the only thing keeping it secured to the wall was an old cutting board with nails sticking out of it in all directions. I could go on with so many other stories. But the point is, you are definitely NOT alone in crazy house stories
We had trail cams hid in the one we built. Now I have been a commercial loan officer for 25 years so our builder knew I wasn’t going to take any BS because I’m a woman. All the contractor and builders new I show up randomly a few times a day. One contractor told us we listened for my stilettos on the concrete..
😊😊.. Our neighborhood has some crazy HOA rules that had to be followed. House has to be set back X far from the street. Only black rod iron 4 feet tall and then they had so many approved colors for the rock, brick and roof. We all survived the build and I never even went to jai. I will say at the end we went every evening and I would leave post it notes all around. Thankfully we took a builder 5 year home warranty followed with a regular 10
Year after that. That was our insurance that that wouldn’t screw stuff on purpose because I wasn’t always the nicest. Builder had to pay for the warranties so we knew he didn’t want to lose his own money.

My husband works with home builders and he heard me watching your video and he said it's most definitely pee. He said he has walked into a home and saw workers peeing and he has even seen one pooping. 🤢🤮...I asked him if he ever has and he said "absolutely not, I'm professional" lol
I remember years ago my Aunt finding a couple #2's in their newly built home--in was in the basement crawlspace. 🤢🤢🤢 I seriously dont know which is worse!!!!

My husband and I watch your videos every day you put one out! ❤ We love you guys and would love to run into your guys one day! I would definitely go to the builders ASAP and bring this to their attention; that is totally unacceptable!!! From the comments, apparently it happens a lot but you may be able to get that five grand knocked down? I know it sucks but it may be a chapter in y'all's life to rent for a short time, then sell? My neighbor moved out and had repairs done then rented. The house smelled awful. We’re they had torn out one wall it started turning colors and wet lots of bugs. The workers had dumped their trash, leftover lunch, bear cans and just dumped it in the hole. IIt was an awful mess.
My kids LOVED playing blue's clues I even had an overstuffed chair that I put a red cover on so they had a copy of the thinking chair! They are now 11/10/9 and sing the mail song everyday!!
You have to tell the builder about the "issue" whether or not you end up with this house. At the very least, that insulation must be replaced. Letting the builder know is the right thing to do.
I’ve heard of this happening a lot. ....happens more times than none.... as yucky as it sounds...

They did it on our brand new front porch, it wont come out and the stink is there forever. Cancel the contract, dont pay the $5000 deposit, get out of it and take yours off market for a few months till it could be put back on as a new listing. You have plenty of time. Make sure to leave reviews online for that nasty builder.

Oh my god that’s actually disgusting over here in the uk the builders have portable toilets that they take to work sites etc with them. That’s so gross that they are acting like animals like that I’m so sorry for you. I wouldn’t buy it, that’s disrespectful and shows the company don’t give a damn
We bought a new build and walked through before it was finished and there were water bottles full of pee everywhere.
Yep..my uncle was talking about this very thing a few days ago...he is part of a clean up building crew that goes into construction sites that have financial problems ,buy them,finish the.m and sell them. Urination and even deification in these buildings are not unheard of...disgusting practices ...decently bring it to their attention...that you have documented it!!!

So I really would doubt that they are peeing in your house. I used to manage hotels and we had wall unit A/Cs in all of our rooms turns out mildew smells very much like pee. With all the water we’ve been getting here in Utah this spring the ground can’t hold it all. It’s seeping into everyone’s basements.
Of course, discuss the problem with the builder. That is disgusting and disturbing. On the insulation? Yuk! On a lighter note, once again, George and James have touched my heart. So cute when they were playing together in the car. Brings back memories of my kids when they were their age.

I just wanted to say how much I enjoy watching your videos and what a wonderful family you have! I am so sorry you are having a hard time. My boyfriend used to work construction and he would tell me some horror stories and when I showed him this he said to immediately speak with the builder because if it continues and they continue to build then they will just build over it and unfortunately the smell will only become worse unless addressed. I do hope they make it right

When we had a house built in 2001 they where using the bathroom in the tub. Sickening that they thank it is ok to do that
One of my Co workers built a house a long time ago and while checking on their house like you guys do, their dog kept going to the same spot and sniffing like crazy... same spot everytime... They suspected that and my coworker demanded they remove the drywall and clean that area... Then the wild thing was he caught one of the builder IN THE ACT!!! It's ewwwww and probably happens ALL THE TIME 🤢😡

I work as a framer and i wont hide that my team always pee's where everthey see fit. My boss even took a dump in an unfinished basement once because he wouldn't of made it to the bathroom. There are many many steps after we are through so it realy was unseen but yes, they all do that. 100% of them do that. Especialy if they are in the basement and find a corner that's unfinished. That corner looked finished how ever.

The contractor needs to know so that they can deal with the issue as if they get away with it here they will keep doing it at other places they build. The contractor has a duty to for the issue and as a customer you have a right to complain as you don't want any health issues . Just a bit of advice
We were the first people to rent a brand new apartment, and on move in day we found coffee grounds in the sinks, trash everywhere, cigarette butts all over the floors....some construction workers just don’t care and have no respect, but the contractor should 100% be on top of them!

We had quite some trouble selling our house this time of year in the UK, there are certain times which are better to sell your house, if you drop the price people get suspicious, it is hard and super stressful, i had a house on the market for about a year before it sold, wishing you both the best of luck ♥
